Paid for Next Day delivery - they did not even despatch the items until day 3 - and only then after I had chased them twice by phone!

Hi Paul, I am sorry to hear that your order was delayed. It seems that the warehouse were a day late in shipping your order and then it was held by the carrier over the weekend, as they only deliver on working days for the next day service. You were refunded for the express delivery charge and I can only apologise for the inconvenience that you have been caused

Mistake at the warehouse meant the 1-2 day express delivery that I paid extra for took a week.

Poor quality tool, broke within 1st minute if use. Paid for 1-2 day delivery and didn't receive the item for over 73 hours. Called customer service and was advised to post item back to verify damage though I had already emailed photos to call centre. No apology offered for either the defective tool not late delivery

Hi Dave, I'm afraid that the picture was not considered sufficient to identify the nature of the fault so we do require the item to be returned for further investigation I'm afraid. Advertised next day delivery, bought item with this in mind... Ordered on a Friday but not received until Tuesday and some damage to product so overall mot very happy

Hi Jill, unfortunately as the order was not placed until after 12 on the Friday it was not processed until the following working day, which would have been Monday. The order was then shipped on a next day service and delivered to you on the Tuesday as expected. I am sorry if this was not clear when you ordered. We were not made aware of any damage to the item, but if you conatct us, I can assure you that this will be reviewed and appropriate compensation or exchange organised, kind regards, simon

Hi Gerald, I am very sorry that the carrier appeared to have damaged your order and the delay that occurred due to this. We do unfortunately need to confirm that the order has been lost or damaged before we can send a replacement, as sometimes the delivery is just delayed. As it took a long time to get this confiormation in your case we did just send out a new order for you which I belive you have now received. I can't find any other order you have placed with us in the past i'm afraid, but it there was one that went wrong then please let me know the details and I will do my best to offer a solution for you

The item I ordered was showing as available on their website with a delivery time of 3 to 5 days. However, after waiting the maximum 5 days, nothing was received or heard. A call to them showed "unfortunately we seem to be out of stock and we haven't let you know when we should have". I was told the item would hopefully be back in stock by the end of the week and would be despatched then. The item did eventually arrive 2 weeks after the order date rather than 3 to 5 days as was advertised; not great service!

Let down by City Link couriers (again). City Link failed to deliver my order as I was not available (I did not know in advance what day the order was due to arrive and so couldn't ensure I was in). The written delivery reference was almost illegible and, it turned out, two of the digits were transposed. This meant I couldn't use the web site or automated phone service to resolve. Eventually got through to someone at City Link who could track down the correct delivery reference. Tried to arrange re-delivery to another address for the next day but City Link needed authorisation for this from Power Tools Direct. Tried to contact Power Tools Direct but only got a recorded message that there was some work being undertaken there that meant that the phones couldn't be answered. Followed instructions to e-mail details of the issue. Didn't get a response until after City Link had attempted re-delivery as it couldn't be changed - I wasn't in again (as I knew beforehand). Contacted Power Tools Direct to arrange cancellation of the order as it was required for the Bank Holiday and they couldn't deliver it until middle of the folllowing week - too late for my needs. Power Tools Direct suggested I drive to pick up the parcel as otherwise it would cost them £16 for return to sender. It would have cost me around the same in fuel (never mind the time and inconvenience) to pick it up when I no longer need it and the item cost much less than that anyway. Needless to say, I didn't do that. I am still awaiting a refund. They have told me that they will refund me when they receive the item back. I don't know if or when this will happen.

I was disappointed that, having found this site from a price review one, the price on it was different, and when I got to the checkout the price had increased again (VAT possibly?) Why can't the site show you the fill price up front, including delivery? Sounds like complaints on RyanAir!

Hi Elizabeth, I am sorry to hear of your poor experience. It sounds like the price comparison site may have had the wrong information to be honest, which we are not always in direct control of. We are unfortunately unable to show the delivery price until the delivery postcode is entered as this is part of the criteria for the shipping calculation

Nothing wrong with the Co or the Goods but they used City-Link to deliver. They tried to deliver twice in the same day when I had go out and then the item has to be collected from their depot some 20 miles away. As I could not collect within their time scale the item was returned to the supplier. Still not received it.

Hi, I am sorry to hear that you never received your order. The tracking code for the shipment shows that there were 3 attempts made to deliver your parcel, but that no-one was in to receive the delivery so a card was left. It also shows that a request was made to collect the item from the Edinburgh depot, but this was not carried out and after a total of 10 days in their network the goods were returned to us. You will be refunded for the order once we have it checked back in. I am very sorry that we were unable to get your goods to you

I have no complaints about the quality of the products I received from your company. The service was prompt and the items were safely packed. So far, I would give your business a very good rating. However I was disappointed to see that I was charged £27.50 for shipping and handling as I thought that I had qualified for free postage because I bought more than £75 worth of goods. I did not realise that VAT was excepted in this calculation (in your ad the letters 'ex vat' were printed very small).I feel justified in feeling a little bit cheated and wonder if I might be reimbursed in a small way (a credit note for my next order would suffice) Yours in anticipation, Sean Callaghan

Hi Sean, I'm afraid that your shipping costs are higher than normal because the delivery is to Northern Ireland, which is unfortunately not a standard UK mainland rate. This shipping cost will have been displayed before you comitted to the order, so I am afraid on this occasion, as we are only passing on the costs we incur for delivery to this location, we are unable to offer any discount on this figure, kind regards, simon

Hi Paul, looking at the history of your order I can see that you ordered on Sat 4th Jan and we shipped the item on Monday 6th Jan, the first working day after your order was received. The tracking code that we sent you via email shows that the parcel was ' Signed for by 'SCOTT' at 11:06 on Tuesday 7th January.'. Please could you correspond with us directly if you have not received your order and we will be able to take action more swiftly to resolve your issue.

The screwdriver I was sent was a very different size to the one I ordered (6x35mm compared to the 8x60mm I ordered). However, as it was cheap and could be useful in future, I couldn't be bothered to send it back.

Hi Ellis, I am sorry to hear that you appear to have received an incorrect product. Is the one you have received really only 35mm long; that would be a very small screwdriver indeed? We can of course rectify this if you give us a call.

Pretty disappointed with the way that my item was packaged, with no real protection so that the box inside was damaged and crushed. Not great when was to be given as a gift.

Wont order again, sorry but waiting on order, city link delivered, wasn't in first time and was left a card to say it would be delivered next day or we would have to pick it up from Plymouth !!!! Stayed in ALL DAY and no delivery, paint turned up the day after when i rang city link and listened to a recorded message and left a message. Think you need to change your delivery service. Almost forgot to say one of the paint cans was dented and buckled.

Hi John, I believe these were delivered to a neighbor which was the issue. They were ordered Monday Evening and delivered Wednesday lunchtime

Their web site was not sufficiently informative and when asked to change the product to another, it was as if they don't understand the onus on the vendor, which is placed on them under the Distance Selling Act. Won't use them again.

They were very courteous and apologetic on the phone when the item didn't arrive on site when stated and they did do the chasing and informed me well of progress. However, the item arrived 4 days later than planned and casing of the transformer was quite badly buckled, didn't send it back as it did work ok, which it should for a new unit and due to the delay getting it there I couldn't afford to send it back

Hi Graham, I am sorry to hear that the service was far from ideal on this occasion. We did ship the item on the earliest next day service possible, but it seems that for some reason the carrier held it at their depot for a day, which took us into the weekend. On Monday they did try and deliver, but this was outside normal opening hours. The parcel was finally delivered first thing Tuesday. So they proper messed things up for us I'm afraid. I have refunded you the shipping cost, as some compensation and apologise for the inconvenience you were caused by this far from normal experience, kind regards, Simon
