“Horrible experience!! Rent MORE THAN DOUBLED in 10 months. This place is a complete scam. Rent went from $130/month to $269/month. Unbelievable that they can do this as I rented the space for my elderly parents when moving out of their home into a care facility, and now they choose to take advantage of them while on a fixed income. Completely reprehensible; what a heartless and corrupt organization!”

“PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS PLACE. Our rent has gone up over 100% in two years. The rent quoted online is 200/month for a 10x15, however we were notified that ours is increasing to 300/month at the beginning of the month. I requested that they reduce it to what they have published, they said no. They said they could not do anything at the office. This place is a classless rip-off and should never be used. My homeowner's insurance covers insurance, but they said they don't care - they want another 15/month for that or don't take the unit. I have never felt so taken advantage of - it makes my blood boil. The good news is that there are hundreds of these places in my area and I am not giving them any more money. I hope you don't either - you can do better. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and avoid stress. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY. COSTS IN THIS AREA HAVE NOT GONE UP.”

“Buyer beware. After just 4 months your bill will be $50 more. The only people leaving 5 stars are doing it because they just received their storage. Their price increases will be $75 - $100 more within a year. Check every review site especially BBB. They're ripping people off.”

“New customer beware. They will not refund all your money. They keep a $29 administration fee? They had my money 15 minutes. They are cut throat’s. They won’t connect you to corporate. They Tell you “ oh my” you can’t talk to Corporate in their ivory tower!! People you deal with are so scared for their job they refuse to refund their “ precious “ admin fee. Go find a local mom and pop storage unit. Guaranteed you will be treated better.”

“I've had public storage for my non profit organization for going in 2 years. I started out paying $178 it went up to $232 now its going up to $250 in January. This is ridiculous! I tried to ask if they can help defray the cost because all of our donations are being used for storage. No one cares. We don't have a place to store our equipment. Everyone's out to make a dollar. This is the Waukegan branch on Green Bay Rd”

“After storing everything we own in a Public Storage unit our movers arrived to transport our belongs to a new home and refused to pack it up. Apparently a roof leak in our unit that we were unaware of has caused black mold to grow! Public storage is refusing any help at all. We purchased insurance through them (the highest amount they allowed was 5 grand and had to be purchased through them) won’t even begin to cover our losses. We can’t even talk to someone in their corporate office and the local and district managers have been totally worthless. Black mold is now traveling into the units next to us and all they will do is notify the renters that there has been a leak! Everything we own is in that unit and we are facing a bill of over 10 grand to just try to salvage anything from the unit. This company is not concerned about customer service in the least! They are despicable……renters beware!”

“Horrible experience. They have raised my rent 91% in 14 months. My belongings in storage aswell as neighbors have been chewed up by rats an mice. When on auto pay they double charged me an wouldn't return it an saved it for next month's rent....those are just a few things. I WOULD NEVER EVER RENT FROM THEM!! AN GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE ALL FAKE”

“My issue is with price increases. Please read the fine print. Four months after renting a 10 x 20 storage space my rent was increased from $418.64 to $578.39 ! Corporate told me they have the right to raise the rates at any time for any amount they choose. I get that things get more expensive and I could understand a yearly increase, but 4 months! Do not use Public Storage find a facility which will guarantee a rate on your contract.”

“After we had moved our stuff into two units they soon got rid of the on site manager who had been quite helpful. Now there was ablip on our payment (credit card expired but payment was made ) they gaft me for $40. If you call you now get a chinese woman in God knows what country that barely speaks english. Looking for another site soon.”

“They have taken customer service out of the equation. The locations that do have a person working there, the employees don't speak even when you are speaking to them. The have made there site office resemble a prison size booth, where you have to stand and speak to a person who is at their home through a very irritating video monitor on the wall and positioned so that you are uncomfortable viewing the monitor and bending to see or key in your information. I had to kneel down with my medical boot on one foot and my leg devise on another to speak to someone through a video and see what I was keying in as if I am in a a prison cell or something. I went to pay my bill that has gone up $60 on each of my units without notice, that's $120 and I haven't been their a year.”

“I was taking care of Mom's billing when I started looking into her Public Storage at 1530 sw 119th Oklahoma City and seen that they have raised her rates 2 times in less than 1 year and cense then they have tried to bully her into putting insurance on a inside unit screwing up her credit card info and charging a late fee when you tried to call the sorry excuse for management ether don't know how to fix any problem or there computer system goes down and give you there customer help line that never gets answered you will have better luck storing you thing in your back yard under a tarp than P-S whitch stands (Piece of Sh*t Storage) instead of Public Storage Help future customers by talking about customer service, price, delivery, returns & refunds. the best way to help future customers is to warn them away form this horror of a crooked place just venting because I doubt this ever makes it to print”

“Do not use Public Storage! Within a year the fees have went up! May 2022 was $255.00 for 10x30 storage, in Sept 2022 fee went to $311.00, January 2023 fee went to $326.00, and now August 2023 fee is $373.00!!! 🤬 Whatever happened to customer loyalty? Obviously, they're ready for me to move to a new storage company instead of stay with them! 🙄”

“If you want to throw your money away you give it to public storage. I would have felt a whole lot better given it to a casino. Let long just throwing it way at public storage. When it is storage unit they lied about a lock. My storage unit this particular day was All my sons they were the ones couldn't even get into public storage but they said that I did and that I also had a lot refuse to give me my refund because they said that I did not contact them. Oh that went on over and over one day two day three days in advance. What a crock of and what a hell of a. If I could give them no stars I definitely would beware of this company!!!!!”

“They have astronomical rent increases. Mine went up $75 from one month to the next. No warnings, just a notification that your new monthly payment is $375 instead of $300. It started at $245 and went up slowly first, but last increase is ridiculous. Employees on site have to power to change and when you call corporate they say that they can raise the rent to market rates anytime. oddly enough you can go online and rent the same unit for $245.”

“Within 4 months of renting space at Public Storage in Excelsior, Minnesota, we got a notice telling us they are raising our rates by 40%. Before I signed on with them, I asked if they were going to "bait and switch" with a higher rate in a few months. "Oh no, we wouldn't do that."”
