“The original rent on my first 10 x 10 unit started around $40-$65. I’m not sure the exact number at this point in time the rate has been raised to around $260 for the same unit. I also have a second unit that has had a significant run increase. I’ve put in requests with the management which are doing their best but unfortunately having issues because the corporate offer office does not care about its loyal customers, I’ve been renting with them a little bit over two years and tried to work something out but it hasn’t been enough. I’m still paying over $200 for each unit. They advised that I move my belongings and consolidate it into a different unit. I also believe they may have said to switch to a unit with a lower rate , it’s unfortunate that they have such a lack of transparency. You really get trapped in here and people storing their valuable heirlooms or even things they really need but don’t have the space for. They have postponed rent increases if I really put my all into explaining how unfair the situation is, but it’s still not a reasonable price. If I could move my belongings, I would, but I as well as many others have health issues that make this extremely difficult. I’m currently selling the vast majority of my belongings and items that are extremely special to me because I can’t afford this. I’m sure there are hundreds of other people in the same situation dealing with this company.”

“This storage unit company is a bunch of crooks they raise your rent ridiculously they charge you for an auction fee and you pay your bill and don't even get your money back so far I paid a total of $248 dollars in auction fees now they raise my rent again I'll NEVER TELL ANYONE ELSE TO RENT from this company.... COMMON WEALTH....yeah a bunch of common butt h___les...”

“This company is crooked in how they continually raise the fee for the unit…every 3 months!!! They also have a ‘mandatory’ insurance fee- which is just another way to rip you off! Citrus Heights location is horrible!! Disgusting, overpriced units:(”

“Because of the two surgeries my wife has the medical bills are taking a large amount of money so I tried to close my storage but they said the parking lot was being resurfaced but Manager e will not call me back, it's been 3 weeks of calling now the new bill is out I feel cheated and coned.”

“Public storage is a rip-off. I paid for a full month's rent and when I moved out they refused to refund the difference. I think that this is a bad business practice and I do not recommend public storage”

“350 N Nova Road Daytona Beach FL. 32114 Unit B014 (10' x 20') We rented from this place. I hate there way of dealings after the first two months they jacked up the prices to little over 300.00 nothing like kicking a person down when they are really down and hurting. We lost our home we were living in a cockroach hotel for over 3 months we had to give up our dog. We were having it ruff to top iit off mom had to get on hospice which really hurt to much stress. Then we had problems paying the storage I paid two hundred dollars on it in hopes to get more time to pay on it. We lost everything we own like our clothes and quit a bit of antiques we lost over 1000 dollars on a Nikon camera very costly paintings these people only wants money they to me have no heart all callous . I can not believe we lost everything. This gave me a lot of anxiety. I. Asked them can they hold off on auctioning off our stuff I told them mom was put on hospice you think they have a heart no not them. We lost our filling cabinet with our birth certificate I had blood pressure meds in there as well. I just can not believe this where is the compassion. I really hurt over this matter they sold our stuff for 500.00 dollars and had the audacity to say that we still owe 400.00 some odd dollars. Then the lady on the phone snickered saying that they will report us to the credit bureau if that's what they want and they get off on it go for it u can not hurt us anymore then you had already. You guys are something special. I hope you enjoy your hard earned thievery. Don't spend it all in one place. Hope you choke on it.”

“Steer clear of this place!! They give a price to rent the unit and they will randomly start increasing the monthly rent amount once you've got your things in there. I called to ask why my rent amount increased by $40 after 5 months and was told by a rude representative that there's no cap on how much they increase your rent amount or how often they decide to increase it. She said it could be every 3 months, 6 months or whenever... Also, the property manager hides behind the 800 number, so good luck getting to speak with a person where your items are stored. I've left 3 messages for the Aledo, TX location and have never received a returned call. RUN!!!”

“Public Storage needs to let their customers know everything few months their storage fees will be increased. The ending of November 2022 the price of storage unit was $99 just paid my bill $155. I called to ask why the constant increase in payment was told to get a smaller unit. The unit I have is small. Now I have to make arrangements to fly to Florida and pay to get my belongings out of the unit. Please put it into your contract let your representative inform us to avoid additional expense and stress on your customers.”

“Public storage has gone up to $60 every six months I started at 180 a month I'm at 360 a month I have been shopping around I found a unit on 2920 in spring at I storage Same size unit climate control 10 x 20 for 118 a month 1/3 the cost of public storage”

“TERRIBLE customer service! I have a moving van waiting to move my stuff into a storage space, I went over to the office to pay for the first month and get my unit number, and no one was there. It has now been THREE HOURS that I have been trying to reach someone, left many messages, and no one will call me back. Worst customer service ever and I will never rent a unit from this useless company again. I use a storage company 6 months every year, and I will go back to my previous company who was fantastic but a mile farther away.”

“My rent continued to increase. I live across the country and was unable to move it out for some time. It rose to over $200 for the small unit! I finally got it into a new storage company. The rates in the new spot are $50-$65 for a LARGER unit!! This poor experience was at Public Storage 10315 SW Barbour Blvd. I feel like they are crooks. I had a much better experience with PS in Florida.”

“RIP OFF! I started my rental 4/2/23 with a (supposed to be) online special 10x25 for $160/month. May 23 the rent increased to $180! Then 3 months later in increased to $246. A few months later it increased to $294! Today marks one year I've been renting! Within one year my rent has increased $134 which is absolutely ridiculous! I called and spoke with someone in the escalation dept. She tells me they can increase the rent 6months-a year anytime with no cap on how much! Offered to reduce my rent back to $246/month for 3 months then it will go back to $294 and continue to increase as much as they want it to! You guys are r***** people! Your CUSTOMERS are the people that is keeping your business open! Regardless if it is a month to month basis, you shouldn't take advantage of this! I'm about to move my things and would not recommend anyone using storage facilities such as this one if you don't have to. Some people don't have a choice and these people feed off of that! It's outrages and I will be speaking with my friends at the city commissioner's office and some others to find out what we can do about these ludicrous contracts and these online promotional SCAMS!”

“i rented a storage at public storage on vermont ave in harbor city, ca space #503 , sure the space as greaty , but the service at the location is GARBAGE, the site manager wasnt on the site and wasnt taking any calls even for the assisntant working on the site? 2 units were robbed of there items, and the cameras in the walkway area were off, or fake, so no camera viewing to see who did the robbery? in my space i was in and out 1 hr, piucture this 9000 spaces and ONLY 2 CARTS ? one guy rented a 20x330 and NO CARTS? the worker for the units told me if i want ALL MY MONEY BACK I WOULD HAVE TO MOVE OUT TODAY, HE RETURNS THE FULL PAYMENT BUT NOT THE 29.00 SERVICE FEE . THIS IS A SCAM OPERATION,? HE GAVE ME THE NAME TONY CRADFORD , WHO IS CHARGE OF GETTING CARTS AREA CODE 818 244 8080 X14440, AND HIS EXTENSION # BUT KNOW WHO HE IS OR HIS #? then a regional mgr in tx hisbit 281 816 4850 in tx? he doesnt know anything about public storage at all, ? i asked if he worked for the storage company , he said yes , he QUIT 1 MONTH EARLIER. so i made a call to the harbor city, ca courts and filed a complaint against this DUMP. THIS STORAGE COMPANY IS A CRIMINAL SET UP FOR THE PEOPLE IN NEED OF STORAGE EITHER FOR MOVING OUT STATE OR IN STATE? OR FOR PLAIN STORAGE, !! “Public Storage does not change due date or payment arrangement. Is very hard to actually speak to a real person. I just finally got to talk with someone and they say that they can't change it. Public Storage want ther3 money on time but is not willing to work with their customers. I'm contacting bbb about this place. They are dirty!”

“Yet again, after just 4 months of renting, Public Storage notified me that they are increasing my Miami rent by nearly 40%. This happened before in West Palm Beach, and enough is enough. You offer 1st month free, make me pay for movers just to trick me into paying a lot more shortly after. This is daytime theft, bait and switch scam. I have already filed a complaint with BBB and will continue if I have to, informing the press about your business practises. I m done with you, never again!”

“Horrible experience!! Rent MORE THAN DOUBLED in 10 months. This place is a complete scam. Rent went from $130/month to $269/month. It is unbelievable that they can do this as I rented the space for my elderly parents when moving out of their home into a care facility, and now they choose to take advantage of them while on a fixed income. Completely reprehensible; what a heartless and corrupt organization!”

“STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORAGE FACILITY!!! They are dishonest and not customer service focused at all. We have been renting 2 storage units here for 2 years. After quite a few increases we are now paying over $350 for each unit even though they are advertising the same size units for $147. We have asked repeatedly for the price to be lowered to market price but they refuse. They say the market/lower price is for new customers only. I suppose that's so they can randomly jack up the price once they have your business. It seems some customers receive a good price while the others do not. That sounds alot like discrimination. Public Storage start taking care of ALL your customers not just the handful you've decided meet your guidelines of who should receive fair pricing. Most companies reward long time customers while Public Storage penalizes them for staying.”
