"They are dishonest, don\u2019t take care about clients. I am now have problems with my property because of their neglecting. Last year in may The gas inspector came to check the hob and the boiler, and he found problem with the hob and he was about to fix it, we waited more than 3 hours just to give their permission to fix it but they ignore us and the hob wasn\u2019t working for 2 weeks after I did a dozens of calls and emails, ( after I spent fortunt for delivery food). About the boiler the inspector said it has very high pressure and he put sticker said (danger don\u2019t use) in the same day that he came, even after I sent many many emails and thousands of calls that the boiler doesn\u2019t work properly they didn\u2019t do anything about it. Since last Thursday the boiler has been stopped and I don\u2019t have warm water or even heating system in this cold. I have many serous medical conditions and three kids I one of them is toddler. We are sleeping in the same bed to warm each other but it\u2019s very cold, they are crying complaining about this situation. I am using the kettle in the bathroom to give them a bath. “My first experience of selling a property, I couldn’t have chosen a worse company! Initial meeting went well but as soon as we signed on the line it was downhill from there! The agent we initially signed with was impossible to get a hold off, and when you did there was always an excuse. After a few months Purple Bricks got in touch to say she had left and we had a new agent. After a month of hearing nothing from said agent we contacted them to find out there had been a “misunderstanding “ and that the agent would be in touch. So we are now 5 months in, 2 agents down. All the while the house is sat on a website with any potential buyers thinking that there must be an issue with the property. What other reason would there be for it to be in the market for such a long time. Besides the small matter of losing the keys to the property they were entrusted with for viewings (we chose not to be home while viewings took place) the new agent seemed to be off to a better start. He updated the pictures as he couldn’t believe how poor the initial ones were. In the first few weeks there were several viewing appointments made, some of them even showed up. The fed back was that the viewers were interested in the property but there were no actual offers. More viewings were arranged every few weeks but more often than not were cancelled at the last minute. We began to wonder these appointment’s were made by the agency just to look like they were still creating interest in the property but of course any suggestion of this would have been denied. 12 months in and now the only interested buyers were buy to let investors who wait on the sidelines to swoop in with a low ball offer. There were more than a few of them. Along comes an update to the app where we could now view anyone who arranged a viewing, previously we could only see it after an appointment was confirmed by the agent. Sadly despite having paid for the agent to show viewers the property it did not inform the agent of the appointment. Little did we know this would be the best thing to happen. My husband showed the last viewer around the house as the agent had not been alerted to it, and by the end of the week we had an offer! For the full asking price. In total it took 15 months to get our house sold from the minute we signed up with them. In my initial meet with the first agent she couldn’t stress enough how “stress free” my experience would be,how wrong could she be! I would never recommend this company to anyone! Quite the opposite.”

“Avoid at all cost, my property was listed as 'under offer' for a few weeks and heard nothing from any agents regarding this. Then to top it off when I took my home off the market they still wanted the full amount! Tried to contact the Agent who ignored my calls & texts! what happened to the no sale no fee we was told! Wouldn't mind paying the advertising fee but as for the agents... not a chance, none of them interested.”

“Purple Bricks will take your money and not sell you property! I realise that the money most agents charge is not reflected in the service they provide but Purple Bricks is a real scammer. They goal is ‘rake’ customers to get their fee and do COMPLETELY NOTHING afterwards. The facts: 1 When you first contact them they send an agent immediately. They talk to you and take photos of the property. After that they NEVER answer your phone calls or call you back. The local agent in Cornwall - Dominik Sliwa - might even not be a real agent. Just someone sent to do the initial stuff and then all the emails and text messages (highly unprofessional) might be handled by a bot or someone who makes sure you are kept away from them. However, if the agent is authentic, he is highly unprofessional! 2 If you ask to put your payment in instalments they will refuse straight away. Of course, the payments are outsourced therefore Purple Pricks send you there and they send you back. 3 There are penalty fees on every stage. If you want to hire a solicitor of your choice you have to pay. And yo HAVE TO have your own solicitor because the companies they cooperate with will not do anything. Each time I tried to get an update I was told that THEY WERE TERRIBLY BUSY AND DID NOT HAVE TIME FOR ME! 4 The local agent has absolutely zero experience with the local property market. After two failed sales of our property he suggested to go though an auction style sale, which we did, and it turned ou to be detrimental to our sale. I got offensive messages though Purplebricks platform form potential buyers accusing me that I was a a greedy scammer. When I reported that to Purplebricks they did not react. When we decided to go back to a normal sale, we had to pay a penalty even though that was within the statutory 14 days of the cooling off. 5 The cornish agent does not have any experience with directing the clients to the right buyer. He suggested a buyer, one of several who made offers, who pulled out at the last moment with no explanation. He did not run any checks or contact them to make sure they were reliable. He just pointed to a random one to get rid of us. 6 Their sign post was brought and installed in front of our house at night with no prior message. They did not knock on the door to say it was there. A few nights later it was stolen, or maybe just taken down by them and installed in a different property, I do not know. When I let them know about that, they ignored that. 7 The GOTO auction dept Purple Bricks cooperates with is also a very unprofessional and uncooperative. They lowered the price of the property without our consent trying to convince us that was the best way of selling the house. When as a result of the lowered price, the algorithms of Zoopla lowered the value of the property. I complained about it and got a response that I knew nothing about the property market and that was the current trend. After paying the penalty the listing was still kept live for a few days. 8 WARNING! They are not registered with any ombudsman! You have no chance to seek support outside of this Purple Bricks. When I asked for the details of the ombudsman they were registered with, they always sent me a link, which you can google yourself, which will tell you that they were not registered, therefore no chance to complain. When I pointed that it was a fake link, both the complaints dept and Dominik went silent. The only way to get your money back might be through a legal case? However, that would probably have to be a group one. If there are any more clients cheated by Purplebricks I am ready to join them and start that. Please contact me.”

“Avoid this company absolutely disgusting scam artists. Delay everything to get maximum money and have taken over 6 months to sell property because of their incompetence. Avoid selling with them and avoid using their recommended solicitors. You'd rather pay the £500 exit fee than to use their solicitors as they'll make sure it costs you more than that anyway with their delays and sneaky costs.”

“Purple bricks is SCAMMED, and the people who work for them are LIERS,first day the sale presenter from purple bricks said no sale no fee and after 10 months charge me without selling my house and changed everything the says in first place,not reliable, if you want WASTE your TIME and MONEY choose purple bricks , they don't care about customers at all. I wish I read the reviews before choosing this scammers.”

“The worst estate agent service going. Do not believe their price structure either, loads of add-ons. We were passed around 3 different 'agents' and once an offer on the house had been received, they all washed their hands and when passed to the Solicitors, we never heard from them again. As the buyer did not have the money the solicitor did not even do any searches on the property......but nobody told us. Wasted 6 months of our lives with this trash company and their associates. New Estate agents ..... sold within 3 months. Still in dispute with Purple Bricks over their charges for doing nothing!! DO NOT USE THE CHARLATANS.”

“**WARNING DO NOT USE PURPLEBRICKS** I’ve given 1 STAR because there is no ZERO! The whole experience of using Purplebricks has been an utter nightmare. The sales rep TH was a complete wide boy who spoke as though he was a cheap used car salesman using words like ‘punt, banter, punter, bosh. His assistant conducting the viewings had no idea what she was doing, she left the company shortly after. Both the TH and his unable assistant went on holiday at the same time without any notice leaving us in limbo. There was no communication with customers before viewing, we listened to viewings where questions were asked that the rep didn’t know the answer to but never requested the information from us to reply to those who had asked. I complained to the CEO and was contacted by the Area Director KS who agreed with the summary of TH as being ‘incompetent’ and said he would take over the sale of our property personally with weekly updates, new photos, description and a premium listing. It got worse, it was an absolute shambles, he couldn’t organise a panic on a sinking ship. After an eternity of back and forth, new photos, description and promises of premium listings he couldn’t even get it launched. What a complete and utter waste of time and money. I’ve been requesting a refund now through our Area Director KS for almost a month and each time I ask for an update I just get batted off with KS making up BS excuses. Purplebricks have 100% frustrated the sale of my property, we listed it in Feb22 and are now having to look for a new Estate Agent in this current climate. It’s been a nightmare, we’ll never use Purplebricks again or recommend.”

“Fantastic service,from start to finish At first we had a gentleman Luke came to value my property ,on my open day I couldn't believe the turn out ,about 26 couples came to view my home with Jamie,he was showing them around my home ,The bidding war had started ,which was fantastic as only needed one viewing.,and within days I expected a offer . We also used purple bricks solicitor Jack fox ,he was brilliant and always approachable,He always answered my emails and phone calls within an hour ,and always kept me updated every step off the way . I would highly recommend Jack fox,as he's easily approachable ,and guides you every step of the way. The only thing I didn't like with using purple bricks was their app,and that was messenger it had it good faults and bad faults . Overall I would use them again .”

“Been trying to arrange a viewing at Alten Way PO7 for nearly 2 weeks. PB do not respond to emails. I phone and the number is never answered. I can’t be the only one experiencing this. How many vendors are not getting the best prices because they are not getting the number of viewings they should be?”

“DO NOT USE PURPLE BRICKS! I only wish I'd read this review before we went with them. Their positive reviews I find very hard to believe reflect the general experience. This company should be reported to trading standards. Sell themselves as having local experts but you get little to know guidance during the process or basic support. Our house, which is a stunning property in a desirable location has sat on the marketing now for 8 months while other properties sell around us. I've had to chase them endlessly to get the most minor of updates to our ad, and texts, emails go unread for weeks. I would recommend to anyone going through the process of selling your house to avoid and go with local agents. Also if you house doesn't sell in 10 months they hit you with a massive fee for pretty much nothing. Absolutely scandalous company, don't fall for their marketing and sales pitch, there is no benefit to using them. The contract terms mean nothing and they are a substandard in all their services.”

“Reading the other reviews it seems there is a common theme with this company. They take your money and do nothing to sell your property, they compare their costs to a traditional estate agent but do 1% of the work a traditional agent does so therefore their fees are in fact very expensive for what you get. Their complaints procedure is also a joke and feels like they are blaming you as a client, because they are online does this not mean they should adhere to the same rules as traditional agents. Their fees have gone up and estate agent fees are down so for the sake of a few hundred pound which you don't have to pay a traditional agent unless they sell your house I would say there is no real reason to choose purple bricks. If I can save one person from wasting their money please please do not use, save your time and money.”

“Do not use this company. I marketed in May and it’s been the worst experience ever. Houses around us keep selling and everyone is shocked our house is still on the market. We’ve had agents changing with no update or introduction, Prospective buyers telling us it took 10 days to get an appointment, taking our own photos to replace the terrible professional ones, no contact for weeks on end from our agent…..The list is endless! We are now being held to ransom by this company and the stress it’s caused to our family is horrific. I’ve officially complained and they’ve admitted the service hasn’t been as they’d expect but the pathetic offer of compensation will never compensate for the undue stress, loss of money, loss of deposit on our new build, etc. Please don’t use this company! Certainly not in West Lothian.”

“This company is an absolute joke…..AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It has taken me a few months to write this review after all the trauma they caused me. We lost my Dad very suddenly when he collapsed and died within less than 24 hours leaving my 76 year old Mum completely lost and lonely having being married for nearly 60 years and us both completely devastated. My Mum lived 100 miles away and she wanted to be near me and she had no friends and family where she was so we decided within a few months of my Dads passing to sell her Park Home and buy a little flat near me. This is is where the trauma started because of Purple Bricks. We made the biggest mistake choosing Purple Bricks but like a lot of people were initially impressed by their marketing and Tv ad…..I just wish I had done more googling of reviews before we chose them. The agent turned up and done the valuation and initially was very pleasant so we went ahead, paid our money upfront and then waited…it then became obvious he had never sold a Park Home as they are sold completely different to a normal house (even though he told us he sold loads!) and when finding buyers for us (which were not many) hardly any fell into the criteria needed to purchase the property so we went through a lot of stress with this……not what we needed when we were grieving. After many disappointments and 4 months of it being on the market (with very little communication from our agent in the process) a strong interested party came along who needed to sell their property before being able to buy Mums. So they were conned by the same agent who encouraged them to sell too through PB…..they then experienced the same problems as us….a buyer was found quickly within a few hours for their property who we were initially told was a cash buyer (which is what we needed too) so we all went ahead with the sale. However it then transpired their buyer was actually an investor who needed a buy to let mortgage through his company…the PB agent said this would be sorted quick….it took another 7 months of utter stress! We received hardly any communication for months so had no idea what was going on with the other two parties as we didn’t need to use a solicitors for the sale of the Park Home…..so when I tried to chase and ask for updates (and yes I was emotional due to the lack of information) as we were getting threatened by our sellers that we may lose mums flat….the agent accused me of making the sale more stressful because I kept calling him! He had ZERO empathy for me and Mum and our grieving (he even went off the radar for a while as he lost his dog and was devastated….yet he didn’t care about us having lost a husband and parent). He made me feel like a piece of dirt at the bottom of his shoe. After nearly 10 months of the worst stress I have ever experienced we eventually sold and Mum got her money and we were able to buy the flat. I just wish I had chosen a High Street Estate Agent as a lot of this stress hopefully would have been avoided…..I will NEVER recommend Purple Bricks ever….AVOID, AVOID,AVOID!”

After I wasted a year for my flat not selling I got a bill for £2,23200 & when I said for what, & I dident see why I had 2 pay anything. They put debt collectors on 2 me. So in the end I had 2 pay, & I'm a pensioner. Please be warned, & go Facebook & see real reviews.”

“Horrendous. Began the process of selling with Purplebricks, due to tenants who we ended up having to go to court to remove we could not access the property. Purplebricks now enforcing £2000 bill for "selling" fees even though not even pictures were taken. Absolute criminals! Dont go near!”

“Paid up front, my father's "assisted living apartment" did not allow For Sale signs. My main grievance is that they stopped advertising the property immediately the first interested party presented themselves. I wanted it to be listed as "under offer" which would still allow other interested parties to consider the property. After months of inaction the party withdrew from the prospect and over the winter period nothing happened. I ended up with a smaller company who found a buyer at a sensible purchase price. Purple Bricks failed me.”

“They take their money then do no work, half hearted efforts to arrange viewings. Avoid avoid avoid. Once they have your money (even if you opt for pay later) they have it and stop bothering as there is nothing in it for them. Then you get chased for a fee 10 months later, £2200 wasted to market a flat, with nothing to show for it.”

“DO NOT USE PURPLE BRICKS, AFTER SIGNED CONTRACT THEY DONT BOTHER CONTACTING YOU AT ALL, HAVNT SPOKE TO ANYONE SINCE 1ST AUGUST COMPLAINED NUMEROUS TIMES TO HAVE WAITED AGES FOR A RESPONSE AFTER GOING THROUGH TRADING STANDARDS TO BE TOLD THEY THINK THERE SERVICE HAS BEEN FINE. ABSOLUTE JOKE RUBBISH PHOTOS, RUBBISH SERVICE.. MY HOUSE IS IN A VERY POPULAR ESTATE AND HAS HAD 1 VIEWING GO AHEAD IN 3 MONTHS WHEN THE HOUSE OPPOSITE HAS SOLD IN A WEEK WITH A DIFFERENT ESTATE AGENT. HAVE NO ONE TO CONTACT AT ALL AND EVERY TIME I EMAIL GET TOLD I WILL HEAR BACK IN 15 WORKING DAYS. WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. PLEASE DONT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THE STRESS I AM UNDER. SOMETHING THAT SHOULD OF BEEN SO EASY SO HARD AND STRESSFUL. DONT DO IT ALSO PROMISED A PREMIUM LISTING WHICH DIDNT HAPPEN BUT THERE EXCUSE IS WE CAN'T PROVE IT AS IT WAS SAID VERBALLY BY THE SALES AGENT. JOKE MOST INCOMPETENT COMPANY I HAVE EVER CAME ACROSS WILL NOT BE GETTING A PENNY FROM ME TAKE ME TO COURT CAUSE I WILL FIGHT LEGALLY ALL THE WAY. WONT CANCEL MY LISTING UNTIL I PAY. “No Commission Fee = No Service! I would NEVER use Purplebricks again. Despite the heavy PR and blanket advertising campaigns, No Commission Fee = No Service! Seller beware as the Brilliant reviews (lots of 5 stars), rate the initial marketing but not the sale. PB are just another market disrupter trying to gain market share, as all they do is post pictures of your house on the internet property portals. You do the viewings yourself, so have signed up to pay a company an upfront fee, for the privilege of selling your own house while you work for free! It’s ok if the sale is straightforward but there is no duty of care to identify and resolve issues in the chain before they become a big problem. Lesson learned: this is why you pay commission to a high street estate agent to sell and market your home, as it’s your most valuable asset. PB get paid to list it not sell it, so are not interested in working to get a sale. The Local property experts” (LPE’s) are only incentivised to ensure you sign up and instruct them, and are off chasing new clients. Post sales support and the conveyancing service, who are supposed to handle the legal process, are equally useless. When you can actually get through to them, there are frequently no updates, incorrect names on paperwork and non existent chain management. Booking viewings on and messaging through the app is a nice benefit (when it works). The downside is the simplicity means lots of viewers were either time wasters looking for a day trip out (or tyre kickers), not serious buyers with property to sell or even on the market. After accepting offers we had to chase to get updates on the status of the chain and despite warning it would break because of slow progress it did as buyers pulled out. The buyers who did make offers we accepted were obviously not vetted for affordability (despite the LPE advising us they were in the best position to proceed), as they also pulled out weeks after outbidding all others so were not committed to buying. This leaves you embarrassingly unable to proceed with houses you have made offers on and had them accepted, as you have had the legs cut out from under you with no notice, on the app, or phone call, just a text! I have cut my losses (in survey costs, search fees and time), and gone on to instruct a local high street estate agent, which we should have done in the first place. One to be avoided at all costs!”
