Abysmal. If I could give a zero I would. Zero communication. Lies upon lies. Do not use them for anything, ever

If you're in the Livingston area of Scotland, do yourself a favour and stay well away from any property listed by Purple Bricks. The viewing booking system worked well and this is where the positives end. We've viewed a house and submitted a formal offer through our solicitor the next day. Neither us nor our solicitor received any updates for three days, until I messaged the sellers directly, who advised their agent was on holiday and confirmed they had received the offer and a closing date had been set. Later on the agent confirmed (over a phone call) to have received our offer, but the amount she quoted was incorrect. Mistakes can happen, so we confirmed we would check in with our solicitor and advise further. The next day, when the agent was presented with the formal offer my solicitor submitted, she claimed not to have seen any offer from us at all and proceeded to try and negotiate a higher offer price. In both phone calls, the agent reiterated the closing date, which matched the sellers'. This was the last time we managed to get a hold of the agent. We subsequently emailed her to get a closing date in writing and she never replied. Similarly, all our phone calls went unanswered. Nevertheless, we really liked the property, so we instructed our solicitor to put in a higher offer at the last minute, on the closing day. We didn't receive any further communication that day and we believed it was just Purple Bricks being slow at processing the offers. By chance, that evening, we checked the Purple Bricks' website, where we found out that the closing date was the day after! Neither the agent nor the sellers considered professional to let us know of this change well in advance of us submitting our final offer. We have politely messaged the sellers for clarification but have received no answer. We believe we have been purposefully misled with the intention of creating a bidding war and we're completely appalled by the lack of professionalism and integrity shown throughout the whole process by the Purple Bricks' agent and now the sellers too. Our offer has since been rejected. Should the first buyer fall through and a new negotiation take place, we won't be taking part and won't proceed with this purchase anymore.

Purple bricks lie, they make appointments and cancel them last minute and basically do not give a monkees whether they sell your house or not. When you make the initial enquirey to sell your home, they can not do enough for you. Once you have agreed to sell with them, the service stops. In a nut shell, if purple bricks were the only estate agent left on the planet, id sooner burn my house down than endure anymore of their shocking service or listen to anymore of their lies.

can honestly say I would never use purple bricks again, yes there cheaper but you definitely get what you pay for. I sold my house with purple bricks (David beagley) he came to the house, valued my property and I instructed him to put it on the market, that was the last I ever heard from purple bricks, not one single phone call, message, nothing, I completed my house move on Wednesday without any contact from purple bricks at all. David never got back to any of the other estate agents that tried to call him about offers on my home, which ment I lost out on a house I loved. I would not recommend anyone to use purple bricks, they take ur money and run, I've still not heard a thing from anyone, I'd never use them again.

Closing date on house. Seller told us what highest offer was. We put bid in higher and lost out. Think some underhanded goings on there. Won't use them again!

The worst 'estate agents' experience we've ever had, extremely unprofessional and little to no communication. We were the buyers and constantly had to chase for updates and information, after you finally get through to one of their 'agents' they are quick to shirk responsibility, provide zero information with poor customer service. AVOID BUYING OR SELLING FROM PURPLE BRICKS!!!

Absolutely awful communication. Makes the whole process of moving house miserable as our sellers were buying with them. Had I known, I’d have thought twice about getting into this chain. Wish I could back out but it’s so late in the day.

Under no circumstances should anyone ever use Purplebricks. We have had a very unhappy experience with them and feel we have been lied to, misled and deceived by this company. Once you sign their contract they lose interest as they will get their money regardless of whether they sell your property or not. It is a con. Our so called expert managed to initiate very few viewings, left the company without telling us and was rude and dismissive when we asked for an explanation for the lack of viewings. They do not communicate, lack any customer service and are unprofessional.

Totally disgusting! Within the first 10 days of hiring them the agent went on holiday and we missed viewings. The communication was awful and so stressful. I asked for a refund several times within the first 2 weeks and they refused! It was a disaster! I paid for an epc which never did, asking them countless times to do it, just a couple of weeks away now from exchanging and they still haven’t done it! Don’t use them!

Had life delayed by the best part of a year, fiance has lost a great job opportunity. Purple Bricks insisted on the use of their solicitor list and all parties were guaranteed their monies except the customer sellers and buyers in the chain. Solicitor didn't lift a finger to deliver true due diligence and simply refused to communicate directly. Awful awful waste of money, time and life. Cold calculating callousness and venal greed.

BEWARE PURPLE BRICKS. Quite possibly the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with. I will not go into their appalling customer service as will only be duplicating thousands of other reviews As I said beware. If you opt for the pay on sale and completion option don’t you dare take your property off the market with them however dissatisfied you are with the service you receive. If you do the fee will be taken by the financial company they sell the debt too as soon as an offer has been received whether you accept it or not, within 7 days. They do send an e mail telling you this is going to happen and offering an easy payment option over 12 months but whatever you do don’t miss the e mail. I did miss said e mail, the payment was taken and that left me unable to pay my own mortgage for that particular month (the property I am selling I inherited from my late parents). I contacted the financial company explained the situation and asked whether they could refund the fee and let me revert to the easy payment option. No chance. No understanding no flexibility no help no option to speak to a manager, nothing. The payment was taken in accordance with the service agreement so despite the fact I have been placed in serious financial difficulty and will have to default on my mortgage no help available. Not illegal but highly unethical especially in these difficult times. So if you are selling a property go to any traditional estate agents or even Bodge it and Sod Them before Purple Bricks. Something really needs to be done about the business practices of this appalling company.

1st appt was not honoured. 2nd appt to see Andrew was no show. 10+ mins on phone to PB. Seems "Sheena" was coming to reception then a Mark? "Sheena" was the person looking after sales at HALLCROFT FISHERIES RETFORD" and asked us into office but knew nothing of our appt. Asked what she should do? Turns out the property was not £120k but now £190k (yes 70k more) as no adverts with Purple Bricks been updated since Jan. Just baiting the public. also the 2nd hand ones did not exist in the window either. AVOID THIS AD AND THIS WOMAN AND PURPLE BRICKS. A very frustrating waste of our time. Frankly could not organise anything and no professionalism nor the telling of the truth. Never again.

Absolutely no sense of customer service. Having had an offer on my property quickly, when thing's got tricky as they do, PB were nowhere in sight. Absolutely appalling, no sense of urgency, wouldn't pick up the phone even when I threated to pull out. Don't use them at any cost. Use a service that actually cares be about you and your sale

Without a doubt one of the worst estate agents on the market, they do what they can to actively promote the Purplebricks brand on tv and via online advertising, but their marketing of your property is abysmal. We were unfortunate enough to have an agent assigned to us by the name of Emma James, who is both unhelpful, patronising and completely disinterested in her clients. I would recommend to anybody thinking of using Purplebricks to think again and opt for the traditional high street estate agent who are motivated to sell your house via commission rather than a salaried employee who could not care less when she has your money and simply tries to undersell your property with a low valuation for a quick sale.

Had a purple bricks representative come to value my property this Thursday morning. I informed him I was having a few other valuations and would be making my decision about which agent to instruct the following Monday. A few hours later he called me to let me know that he had contacted someone he knows to be looking for a property in the area, told him the location and details and had given him his valuation price and that the person wanted to view the place as soon as possible. I was absolutely stunned. I had been absolutely clear that I was not instructing an agent until the following week. I also felt his valuation was wrong and that he seemed less informed about our area then some of the other agents I had recently spoken to, so I would never have chosen him. Also, our house is the only detached house on our street - which means if he gave this person the details, even without the number, they know what house it is. And that just made me really uncomfortable. I asked him to call back whoever he had spoken to and inform them that the house is not for sale and that purple bricks would not be the selling agents. He was, predictably, rude and patronising when I explained why it had alarmed me so much that he had taken this bizarre liberty. I think he thought I was stupid. I’ve bought and sold 3 houses. I’ve never encountered such shockingly dubious and arrogant behaviour. Um, yeah, I would avoid.
