I would appreciate a speedier delivery service. RS for instance delivers within 24hrs and CPC slightly longer but not as long as Rapid.

Our order was placed on 5/1/15 and goods received on 15/1/15. Not what I would call Rapid! The above experience is very unusual. If you had asked for feedback at any other time, it would have been much higher up the scale. I would be interested to know if there is any follow-up?

Even though the items I ask for were correct and what I needed, sent with the hack saw and wire cutters was a BAHCO tool box, the bar code number being 7314150140800. If you sent this as a gift for a first time user of your site or if it was sent by mistake you need to tell me, if you want it returned E-mail that info. aswell. I have E-mailled your customer services on this matter but to date I haven't received a reply. Cust. Account 3198583, order number 1238357.

Unfortunately, Rapid no longer are.... When they were taken over by Conrad a lot of people were very negative about the future. I kept my fingers crossed but unfortunately the doom-mongers have been proved correct... OK, so they have more stock but most of the new lines are way over-priced and a lot come from Germany on 5-7 day deliveries so not much use if you need things in any sort of a hurry. A lot of the lines they were very good on have been cut and while previously you wouldn't even bother comparing them on price to Farnell, now they are often more expensive or the same price but with a higher small order charge. But, the main thing. Speed. Or lack thereof. They say any orders placed by 7pm will go the same day. I would say a rude word but I'd best not. I've just placed an order before 3pm - still 'Waiting'. My previous order was 1:30pm, again didn't go until the following day. None of my recent orders have been shipped the same day so what used to be a reliable source of parts has now become a lottery, especially at this time of year when post is unlikely to be next day. It's looking like an order placed early Thursday afternoon will now not be received until Tuesday at the earliest - anyone in manufacturing knows that those sort of delays are unacceptable.

lets be honest when i ordered from rapid it was ... quick. but there was a serious downside to that they sent me a package that wasnt mine ended up having to pay for taxs on it and they called me claming theyd do somthing about it and never did.. my opinion ... go somewhere else why deal with a sloppy company unless you feel like paying more then you should.

Ordered a some very basic 'commodity' items, 1/4W resistors, ceramic capacitors, etc., only about £30 worth, and less than 40 line items. Many of the items were out of stock (which you are informed of at the time of ordering) and placed on back-order. The order was finally received in 6 or 7 deliveries over a 27 day period. Pretty poor for low cost stock-in-trade commodity items. With the time, postage and packaging they’ve made a definite loss on this order. The final item, two titchy ceramic capacitors costing 6p (for the two!) were sent in an A4 sized padded envelope with a 76p postage frank!

The web site is terrible. Finding stuff is virtually impossible. Firstly it forces you into one of three sections and wont find stuff in the other sections. Then there isnt any decent sort of parametric search allowing you to compare two parts side by side. Try typing in 1k 2w resistor. You get 2 pages including 25W resistors, 0.25W resistors and resistors with no declared power rating! A lot of items are now on 2-3 week delivery which is useless. I buy loads more from Farnell/CPC even if it is slightly more expensive because I can find it and it is delivered the next day.

Item missing out the packet, it's now over a week later and still the item hasn't arrived. not very good service.

Used this company twice now since opening an account. Was looking for a real alternative to RS but it isn't rapid. online stock status says in stock, finalise the order and find not in stock, sent item are marked correctly but are not the items (or anywhere near). Phoned to sort it and told customer services will phone back in up to 48 hours.... they didn't. Phoned again and explained I was unhappy only to be told I not the only customer that needs attention........Why am I not surprised. Currently specing products for a 3.3 million £ machine and wont be using Rapid.

I was sent the wrong colour exercise book and some mis-shapen/cut books in my last order. This is the first time I have had any problems and have been using Rapid for the last four or five years. The correct/replacement books were however sent out very quickly to right the situation.

The service was excellent but I dont expect to have to pay for postage twice once when buying the product and again when I have to collect it from the post office because you did not put a franking label on it!!

I placed an order on-line and within 10 minutes discovered that I needed to add to the order. I phoned to try and do this but was told I couldn't. Annoying for me as it would have meant a second lot of postage charges. Consequently I ordered the additional items elsewhere (same price, free postage), so ultimately a loss of sales to Rapid Online. Poor customer service that helps neither the customer not the company.

I would like to see on your online order system:- 1. Option to not part ship - the carousels and storage bins I have been ordering are usually not all in stock. I only want you to ship when the order is complete. 2. A date of when the out of stock items will be available.

I really wanted Rapid to be good as their prices and range are excellent. My first and so far only order was messed up and I haven't received 7 of the 10 lines ordered from stock. Although, I did receive someone elses goods which were worth 4 times what I ordered! I'm still waiting for it all to be sorted out.

Although the order was delivered on time without packaging damage, one item a 6.3mm TRS stereo Jack plug was open circuit on one channel.

Although the range of products is good the number of items that are not in stock or are on 5 days or more delivery makes it harder to chose Rapid for day to day R&D purchasing.

Hadn't used Rapid for many years, wonder why? Placed and paid for an on-line order OK, but 30 seconds later realised I had made a mistake and ordered the wrong item, so I called their sales line: 'Sorry can't help - the order has been printed.....' Called customer service, same thing: 'The order has gone down to the 'Warehouse' - once it's there we can't intervene.... You'll just have to wait until the order has arrived and return the items and re-order' That would have cost more than the mistakenly bought item.... So I purchased the correct part from Farnell - it was delivered next day for the same delivery cost. 4 days later the Rapid order finally arrived......

I took advantage of Rapid's promotion on a Tektronix product and selected collection from the UK Mail depot. Of course, it wasn't there when I went to collect it, it had gone out on a van, and visiting for a second time today, it looked as though the rather bashed about box had been out a second time.... despite having a 'collect' marking on it. I dare say that Rapid aim by the promotion to advance themselves as suppliers of test gear, but for this customer, it has been a rather bruising experience. There is a reason why poeple use RS and Farnell, and that is they offer quality & reliability of service - including that of their delivery representatives - that Rapid doesn't match.

All the items I ordered were excellent, came well packaged and all as described and I was very pleased with them. However, I went through pain trying to order them. Rapid had lost all knowledge of me having ordered before which meant I would have to send the goods to the card address. This is very inconvenient as our card is registered at head office not at our workshops and we had to pay the cost of sending the goods on. Many emails were exchanged, some of which were misleading. The result was that Rapid would not accept that I had made previous orders and refused to send the goods to our workshops. I received no reply to the last email I sent which I also thought was a bit off. Hopefully, when I order again, which I will, they won't have erased all trace of my previous orders and actually allow the simple action of sending the goods here instead of our head office.
