Had a voucher for 2 days at a hotel plus dinner for two. Tried many locations but all were unavailable but I could have an expensive upgrad! To check if the unavailability was true I tried to book hotels where I lived which I knew had vacancies and got the same result. This company is running a scam and I don't know how they have escaped the authorities. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS

We received theatre & dinner for two vouchers as a gift. To redeem requires downloading two separate voucher references then proceeding to book separately. We booked the theatre then chose a restaurant (Zizzi's) but only when we downloaded the Zizzi's voucher we discovered it was only valid for 60 days and the theatre tickets we'd booked were for after this date. Rather than struggle to change dates we decided to go ahead with the meal date before the deadline, but had to cancel at short notice due to illness. I have requested an extension for the meal voucher using the online request facility on the Red Letter site twice and have still had no response (despite a promise on the site of a 4 hour response). I haven't even had an automated confirmation of my request. Why is it all so difficult?

This company must be wallowing in money that they shouldn't have. People give up trying to contact you by a non existent chat line. I want to change a voucher for something else and no! the website isn't helpful. Never recommend you to anyone ever !!!

The problem with red letter days- is that that you have to wait many months from the date of making the purchase to actually enjoy the experiences. This is true of all the Red Letter Days purchases that I have made.

Avoid avoid avoid Unable to find any hotel that will accept our voucher worth £223. One hotel told us that they haven’t accepted the vouchers for over two years, yet Red Letter Days will not remove them from their website. Book directly with a hotel as these vouchers are worth nothing if you can’t redeem them.

I was brought a spa day voucher from my husband at xmas. When booking the experience there was no option of anywhere local and each venue offered a different experience to what my voucher said. I exchanged my ticket for theatre tickets. When logging in and booking this, the only option was the worst seats, right up in the grand circle with a double restricted view. My husband paid £100 for this voucher, and when booking direct with the theatre I could of got much better seats/view lower down for that value. Absolute con! There is no way to talk to anyone about this over phone as no contact number, I emailed but they completely ignored me! I finally got through few weeks later in the chat and when asking questions i was basically ignored. All they answered me with was questions relating to going ahead and booking the voucher for me. In the end I have now managed to swap this for the monopoly experience, which then wanted me to pay an additional £9. When booking for this and getting my email confirmation it includes in that email the cost of the booking which still cost a lot less that my husband originally paid. Sorry to say I would never recommend using Red letter days and I will never use them again. Shame my christmas present has ended with such a downer on it, just hope the experience booked now goes with no other hidden clauses! My husband is also hugely disappointed and will never book from here again.

Pretty rubbish really... can't get to book a hotel without paying stupid costs on top of the voucher....would be better booking a room directly but then feel guilty that our son bought the voucher in good faith as a treat for us.

What an absolute joke bought as a present for nephew right before Covid hit then when they were open again was a nightmare trying to book and my nephew had to pay to extend!?!?!? Wtf Then when he did finally get a booking it was another 9 months wait. Upon trying an hour and a half to the booked experience there was no one there!!!! No phone call, text or email to say it had been cancelled! When trying to ring they don’t accept phone calls you have to email and their response times are unbelievable as well as they’re lack of knowledge! I will never use them again and won’t ever recommend them to anyone! What a waste of time and money. I am fighting for a refund now but do not have high hopes of ever seeing that again

Was bought a RLD experience of a break at a specified Central London Hotel for my birthday. Logged in within the voucher code within the 12 months timeframe to be faced with the 'experience no longer available - please choose something else'. Everything else is now significantly more expensive and am being asked to contribute more money - well in excess of the original value of the voucher. Surely there must be some legal precedent of being sold something that no longer exists? Having read the remainder of the reviews on here, it seems that RLD do really well in taking your money and sending out a box with a piece of paper in it - when it comes to delivering a satisfactory service and experience to the end user - garbage.

Terrible experience, tried to book at a London Hotel, Red Letter Days give you a phone number and email to make contact (after confirming the 'experience' ), tried to call and no answer, after 3 attempts, get through to someone who tell you that you can't book via the phone, so sent an email to the address shown on RLD site... no response after a week, so call again, again, difficult to get through, only to be told that the email is one they don't look at and to resend your email to a different email address... then you have to send them a copy of the voucher and tell them what date you want... after chasing several times, being told that the person who answered the phone doesn't deal with RLD vouchers I did get a call back, to be told that they don't have any availability on the day you have requested, unless you pay them an EXTRA £180 (the voucher value was £200) - which is odd as I could have bought a room at that hotel on the night that I had requested directly on their website for less than £250. RLD sound like a great idea, but in practice, an absolute shocker to deal with bookings, in my experience, having tried to book one night, took me three weeks to still get told No... I certainly don't recommend, won't be buying anyone an experience again, this has put me off for life.

Voucher bought for my 60th birthday over a year ago. 2 nights hotel with dbb. Cost over£150. Unable to use as never a hotel available and upgrade costs are more than actually booking a room at the hotel. Charged £20 to extend. Also tried to exchange for dining experience. Again the cost is ridiculous. Far cheaper just to go and eat at the restaurant. A truly dreadful company.

My booking included breakfast on both days. When I telephoned the venue I was charged an extra £40 for the room and that breakfast was not included and would cost £16.50 per head per day. Telephoning Red Letter I was disgusted with their lack of help and refused to reimburse any of the outgoings. I immediately cancelled the booking and have not received any further response from them.

I purchased an Ariel Atom and Caterham experience for my brother last autumn. When he went to book a track he looked at 3 different ones in the south of England and needed to pay a premium to use any one of them. It also stated that he provides his own insurance. I contacted Red Letter Days in early June to ask if it was correct that he was being asked to pay upwards of £70 to use his birthday gift experience and I've never received a reply. I would advise anyone not to waste your money.

Red letter themselves offer a great service but bit concerned with the companies. Could not attend a gift bought for us because of health reasons, so changed it to an afternoon tea but when called to book had attitude and could not book us in till end of September from beginning of August. I realise it was a booking team but got the impression, as it was Red letter, you can wait.!

Painful experience. Bought a voucher, tried to book, at first all ok, but then pushed to another site which didn't accept the voucher code or even the PDF of the voucher received. Back to Red letter days site them also wouldn't accept the code. First and last time!
