I was treated very poorly when trying to purchase a washer/dryer set. On May 1, 2025 I purchased a new washer/dryer set for $2,413.75 at the Martin Grove Rona store. Delivery was set for May 7. At the time of purchase, I was advised I was responsible for disconnecting the old washer and dryer, which I did on May 6. The appliances were not delivered on May 7. I waited a few hours, but hearing nothing I decided to call the store. I had to call the store three times, starting at 11:30 a.m., on May 7 before anyone could give me any information. What I was told did not explain anything. I was advised the dryer was "no longer available", although it had been available on the day I purchased the appliances. It was not explained to me how it had happened that the appliance I had purchased had been removed from my order. It was not explained why no one from the store contacted me in advance to let me know that the appliance was no longer available, so that i could avoid disconnecting my current appliances and also avoid disrupting my household in order to create a clear path for the delivery people. As a "solution" I was told i could have another appliance from the floor, but I would have to pick it up and take it home myself. That struck me as an insult, not an attempt to make things right. My best advice is to shop elsewhere for appliances.

Terrible customer service. Have tried to buy two sheds. One in which I paid for, waited 40 mins for it to be loaded...just for me to go in and see they couldn't find it. Trying to buy another one now, was told it was there and ready for me to come buy....I phone before I drive from out of town for them to tell me I will receive a call back as they don't see it. So for a hr later. No call back and now I can't get through to them. Rona plus has definitely let me down.

Bought over $500.00 of drainage supplies, at several different times, didn’t need approximately $150.00 of it, had one of my bills, they refunded $110.00 for 2 items, third item $40.00 I couldn’t find the bill, (product code shows they sell the item) they wouldn’t take it back, saw store manager (very pleasant) for over 1 hr, Sorry no bill, no refund. I’am trying to support Canadian stores, back to Home Depot with a no hassle return policy! Rick Ducholke

Absolutely disappointing - Rona by the way is owned by a USA Company (Sycamore Partners). We were in the Whitby store in Ontario CDN - no staff in the flooring dept. so we walked away and went to the paint dept. again waited approx 10 minutes and still no staff! Shop CDN - Canadian Tire or Home Hardware!!!

Yesterday, upon seeing an ad for cedar hedge fertilizer on sale we went to the East Gwillimbury store to pick some up. Apparently they had 199 in stock. There is no one to help you in the store. The store was completely empty of customers and also anyone who worked there. We couldn’t find aisle 51 - which is not marked. We found an associate after searching the store, who told us that yes, there are 199 in stock. But couldn’t tell us where they were “somewhere outside” was his answer. I can call an associate for you - never came. I ordered it online and had to pay a delivery fee because everyone was too lazy to help. This is the exact reason why I didn’t shop at Lowe’s and will not be going back to Rona. Useless.

Still waiting on an item for delivery. I was told the item was shipped and the item would be received the next day. But, only a shipping label was created. After 8 days, the carrier still has not picked up the item. Very deceiving!

Had a prepaid credit card valid for online orders. Don’t have stock in my area so chose closest Rona with stock (40 min away) ordered items paid items online with credit card. Got a phone call saying the part I ordered wasn’t in stock so they substituted. Upon pickup was wrong again. Went in to exchange they refunded my prepaid credit card and told me it’s going to take 48hrs to see that refund so I couldn’t pay for the new ones for 48 hours. Glad I drove 40 min to get jerked around

Bought a washer dryer set with pedestals. Spent over $3000. Had them delivered and the delivery people refused to put the washer and dryer on the pedestals. after calling the store and them standing around for 30 mins and it wasn’t till I told them to take the machines back they finally agreed to do it. Ridiculous as it was on our purchase papers. I would suggest if you are older purchase from a different company.

What would you do/expect? Bought a shop vac from Rona. When I opened the sealed box the canister was dirty, the filter was filthy and torn and the hose had debris fall out. Took it back to Rona and they said this sometimes happens and I could get an exchange. (no diiscount) I said no, it could have been used for bed bugs, cockroaches who knows. Left my number for the manager to contact me, never did. Left 2 messages for Rona complaints and was told once again I could exchange it. Does customer service not check the returns anymore and just put them back on the shelf hoping for the best?

Disgusting commercial. Shame on Rona. Yes, I get it, but this personifies bad taste. How about cutting a human in half instead.

I absolutely hate, hate, hate the new commercial. It makes me sad to see the donkey crying. Some may think it's funny but I certainly do NOT.

Edmonton area Rona no longer sells Kobalt tools. I am heavily invested in Kobalt tools. Under Lowes management and business model I enjoyed the shopping experience. Now my store had become just another Rona. Now I am back to Home Depot to fight for parking and stand in line.

To start off - we had gift cards to use and they cannot be used online. Therefore we had to go in store to make any purchases. We were trying to order Landon and Co cabinets. As they are in the midst of clearing out the previous line, originally they tried to give us mismatched stock. The colour of white is not the same. Manager offered to do a whole new order from the warehouse - this was appreciated. Because we were doing one of the buy more save more events, we did a couple more orders online. I called immediately when I received notice they were in to check again about the brand/line. I was told they would again order from the warehouse and call when in. Just went to pick up. Mismatched boxes, no numbers on boxes that match up with receipts - such a mess! Ended up returning everything! So disappointing.

I just hate the "half assed" commercial, which ironically makes Rona seem less than that.

Hey Rona, Your newest Commercial featuring a donkey is in pretty poor taste. It certainly does not make me want to buy from your store.

I wouldn't even give one star for the horrible TV ad showing a sad, dejected donkey being ridiculed by humans. What's the message? Beat up on the disabled? This ad hurts peoples' feelings. Make it stop.

Your donkey commercial is horrible, I can’t watch it, I change the channel whenever it comes on, should be on a horror flick!

Your "half ass" ad is distasteful and disgusting. I am a tv producer and this add is did-tasteful and not one bit creative. I will not shop at Rona until this ad has been pulled.

My bad experience with Rona, involved watching a horrible commercial involving a donkey...'half ass' to promote Rona. As an advertising initiative to promote that which Rona has to offer, I'm appalled that whoever came up with this idea, thought it was a good one although I'm sure with the backlash from those who've seen this commercial, customers or not, the purpose of showing it on TV, has back fired! I cannot believe that the person who was in charge of airing this commercial to promote the business thought it was a good idea? Wow! Due to the lack of thought re: airing this awful commercial, I will definitely think twice about shopping at Rona! The creator of this commercial should be ashamed!!!!
