As like many other unfortunate people on here I foolishly and naively sent a parcel via special next day signed for delivery at the cost of £11.88 and as usual it seems the post office couldn't get the parcel delivered and its still not delivered. It was sent to the wrong office in error, although it was actually very close, it then was sent to edinburgh which was miles away, the parcel only had to travel a short distance to begin with. What idiots totally incompetent. The parcel in question contained the keys to a holiday home and the recipients had planned a weekend break with thier kids. Which thanks to the post office was ruined. I was left with no one I could contact and there complaints procedure is designed to confuse. However I will persevere with my complaint and never use these useless people again. Be advised use a professional despatch company and avoid the post office at all costs.

I'm a fit 52 year old and have applied many times for the Royal Mail. In the past I struggled to pass the online assessment tasks, and was informed so by the Royal Mail. More recently however my 'failures' have been down to, "unforeseen circumstances this vacancy has now been withdrawn". On the Royal Mail website however, it states, "Sorry, this position has been filled". This has happened on my last two applications. Once a coincidence, twice something more sinister. I can interpret this as I'm too old to be a postman but the Royal Mail don't want to incriminate themselves by saying so.

Have used international tracked and signed for a couple of times - DO NOT USE!!!!!! It’s a disgrace they even advertise this service - it is a joke - documents sent to South Africa took over 2 MoNTHS to arrive!!!! Recently sent an item to Portugal - after 2 weeks of little tracking information, I phoned up to find they had sent the parcel to Luxemburg!!! Another bloody country?! Parcel was due to arrive back in the UK and then they said it would take another week to get there - a TOTAL JOKE!!!!!

Appalling - never in when they try to deliver. Refuse to leave with neighbours - crazy opening hours for collection - not fit for the modern world

they lose on average 4 of my parcels a month - i send recorded delivery and those get lost too - ROYAL in the name is not accurate should be more like THIEVES - i sent an envelope with a gsm tracker inside it to catch royal mail out - guess what package went missing - when i tracked the package by the gsm tracker and informed them it was on site they mysteriously found it and delivered it - before this it was sitting in there sorting office for a whole month - ive also had money taken out of children's birthday cards and my new favorite one is they slice your package open and steal whatever they want and seal it back up - also if you try and claim anything back they will try there best to not compensate you - they have lost in the past year around 200 pounds worth of stuff and most compensation i have received is a book of stamps - websites and forms make it hard to complain also -

Sent my tracked Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed 1pm™ on 17 of. June git to Medway office on 24 June and seems to be stuck like glue because it's not been delivered today 26 June. Can one find a number to ring, not on your Nelly. Uk is becoming a third world country.

Sent a parcel using international tracked and signed for. Was advised by the post mistress that it would take two to three days. That was on the 17th June! Tracking service has shown it in Torino, Italy with a “delivery partner”, who’s site is only available in Italian. The parcel has been there since Friday 21st and it’s not moved since? It was urgent and trying to find out it’s whereabouts via Royal Mail is absolutely hopeless. It needs to be lost for 20 days before they will consider it missing. Not a human to speak to. Everything needs sent recorded now since unless you do and pay for the comfort, it gets lost! Royal Mail you are a complete disgrace, should have used a proper delivery service.

Keep getting ripped envelopes arrive. Seems more prevalent if they have come through the gatwick sorting office. They are all posted in good envelopes but all have similar tears (bottom left hand corner, a 4 - 5 mm tear down and then torn across around 50 mm)..... they are all addressed to a hotel, so I gather that postal workers think there may be money in them? It did get worse around the Christmas period but we get it on a very regular basis. Do I trust the Royal Mail...... no way!

Sent a first class letter within the UK as a signed-for letter. I would expect that a first class letter be delivered within a maximum of 3 days. However, this letter took 3 weeks and one day to arrive at the destination. Another letter first class letter that I posted at the same time, reached its destination after 2 days. The only difference was the signed-for option. The UK royal mail signed-for system is a total joke. The service is not fit for purpose, both for international and domestic signed for mail. I made a complaint about the service by phone, email and finally by letter (yes the irony). The best that Royal Mail could say was that they had no idea what had happened, and that I should make a formal compensation claim to get my money back.

Important documents were posted by First class post am and have taken 3 business days to arrive. Royal Mail is not fit for purpose, fraudulently charging high charges for services which are not provided. Any other company would be prosecuted. I will use any other provider in future except Royal Mail

I've posted 3 items in the past 6 months, 2 of which you've lost and compensated me, the third was redelivered to me a day after sending.. - Southport, UK. When they try offer stamps as compensation... LOL. Shambles.

A birthday card was sent with some monye in it, maybe not the wisest thing to do, but it was opened and the monye removed. How can they allow a service with Royal in its name to conduct busines like this. We pay for a service only to be stolen from. Are the Roayl mail not ashamed of what they have become. Thieves, pure and simple. THIEVES.

Received a Royal Mail card through my letter box saying that they had attempted delivery of a package while I was out. This was a lie, since a mere 30 minutes earlier they had successfully delivered a dozen other packages to me personally and I was still in the house. I went online and rearranged delivery for a few days later but it was not delivered, even though I did receive other packages. The online tracking just says 'Item prepared for redelivery'. I called their business helpline and, after trying to put me off, the customer support person eventually called my local delivery office but (as per usual at that office) there was no reply. She asked me to call back in a few days but as the phone call (an 08457 number) had already cost me nearly £10 I will just let it go and get the sender to claim compensation later. I wish this was just an isolated incident, but unfortunately it is all too common with Royal Mail. They cost small businesses much time, money and stress.

Appalling service. Use RM for business and many things 'vanish' each valuable items. They go to the returns centre never to be seen again. Customers get angry and damage our reputation. This company is definitely an example of the mess our country is in. Trying to get help (Tracking assistant a joke!) and now it's 30 mins listening to classical music... This package has been missing 10 weeks and many others vanish and they NEVER compensate as they should. Awful company.
