Ordered April 13 and still have not received it

It took 6 months to receive a basic, stock rug.

Incorrect time line for arrival of product. Even after contacting customer service I was told rug would ship first week of April. It shipped on April 22. The website said when I ordered it would be 1 to 3 weeks. I ordered the rug around March 10. I have since found the rug at a less expensive price on another site I will be using them next time. I'm a realtor and interior designer and trusted I was being told the truth. Obviously not.

Photos were misleading: I'm not usually one to complain or write negative reviews... however I just spent 300 dollars on a rug only to be disappointed when I received it and saw that the color was nothing like what was shown in the ad. I purchased the "Anji Mountain Bamboo Rug, Co. Traditional Bamboo AMB0085 Cobblestone Rug". In the photos on the website, it appears to be very orange/red, however, the actual rug looks nothing like that. It's more of a mahogany/maroon. The only reason I spent the extra money on their site was for the particular color I saw in the photos. If I wanted what I had received, I would have shopped elsewhere as I saw that many sites carried rugs in that finish at a better price. I would attach photos to my review, but it will not allow me to do so.

Reluctant to write a review as it's too much of a hassle & expense to return, but this rug smells so bad I banished it to the porch. I’ve purchased other rugs from this company, but never had this issue. This rug smells old & musty. It is pretty, however, no place inside as it makes every room I placed smell old & musty.

I ordered a rug that was advertised as 7-10 day delivery time. I called to confirm delivery time and was told it would actually be 5-6 weeks from time I called to confirm. It’s been over 6 weeks and still no rug. When I called to check status, I received an email stating how “lucky” I was to be on a list of people who would eventually get this rug. In the meantime, my card was charged for a product I still don’t have. That charge should have been put on hold till rug was out for delivery.

I cancelled my order on 3/15 after a month of waiting. i found another rug in the mean time. Was expecting a response within three days and hadn’t received one as of this morning 3/18. I pulled up my order to find that the order had been fulfilled on 3/16. Honestly, I was concerned that with the three day window of response that my order would be filled rather than cancelled. Contacted via live chat and received an auto response to fill out a cancellations request which I had already done. “Chatted” with a customer service rep (who was very professional) and she relayed that I hadn’t been contacted because they were waiting for a tracking number because the rug had already been put on a truck. At this point I have no choice but to receive the rug, return it with an RMA and absorb the shipping cost both ways. A frustrating experience.

I ordered a rug labeled "closeout." It arrived and I didn't care for it. I emailed the company to ask about returning it. A day later they responded by telling me that I couldn't return it because it was a closeout. Sure enough, I went back and read the very fine print and it said that closeouts weren't returnable. Fair enough, but I don't recall ever ordering anything online that wasn't returnable that wasn't clearly marked *Final Sale.* Rugs Done Right needs to CLEARLY label all non-returnable items FINAL SALE.

Very frustrated that I haven’t received any updates on shipping with my rug. I had to email to receive any news and even then I still haven’t received a straight answer on when my rug is arriving. It’s been almost a full month since I’ve ordered.

Unfortunately, the rug I ordered did not look as it did in the picture. The color was off (royal blue instead of seafoam green) and I had to pay $52 to return the rug because they were out of the replacement rug I wanted. I had ordered a rug previously and was quite happy with it so I ordered again, but am not happy about paying half the price of the rug to mail it back.

Business practices Not Done Right! Rugs Done Right charged me for the full amount on a rug and said I would soon be getting shipment information. I called 10 days later to inquire about status and was informed that the rug was on back order and would be several months. When I asked whether or not I would be credited on my card until the rug became available, I was told that if I did that I would “lose my place in line.” Had I not called, I still would not have heard anything. As a post-script, two days after my initial order, Rugs Done Right informed me that I didn’t order a pad. I placed a separate order and the shipped it two days later - for a rug that won’t arrive for months!

The single biggest issue is lack of communication on your website about lead time. Not understanding in stock status or any idea on required lead time is frustrating. I may have taken a different approach on my order my choosing a different rug if I had known at purchase time this rug would take so long to deliver. That said, I reached out to your customer service team and they were quick to respond and provide feedback and kept me aware of status.

I work in marketing/service communications, and I don't understand why this company would send a "how did we do" survey in an email acknowledging that I probably haven't gotten the item yet. (I haven't.) As a customer, I don't have full view into my full experience yet if I haven't received the item. Seems like a strange strategy and an over-communication, especially since up until now I received zero communications from the company letting me know that my order would not be fulfilled or shipped for a full month after I ordered it. But since you asked: I am frustrated that Rugs Done Right did not let me know my order would take a month to fulfill and ship. I read on BBB that other customers have had this experience, and it was because Rugs Done Right did not let customers know when the items they purchased were on backorder. I bought this rug intentionally from this company because it appeared to be in stock, but was on backorder everywhere else I had seen it online. I would not have purchased if I had known it was backordered, and it seems like it should be a requirement for companies to be transparent with customers about backordered items.

I ordered two rugs from you. I received a confirmation of the order with a note telling me you would notify me when the rugs shipped. After two plus weeks I called to check the status only to find out one of the rugs was out of stock. The fist and smaller rug was in stock but hadn’t shipped because both rugs weren’t available. I was told the second rug was on it’s way but it would be another three weeks before the container arrived. Five weeks later I followed up again to find out the status. I was told the rug was in and would ship early the following week. My point here is that when I placed the order you should of known one was out of stock and there would be a wait. From there on the communication was because I initiated it not Rugs done right. Feel like I would still be waiting if I hadn’t called.

The customer service reps I dealt with were very nice and helpful, but I am very disappointed that I purchased and paid for a rug only to be told it was no longer available after I inquired. I would have been disappointed either way, but I wonder if I hadn’t asked if I just never would have received it.

I was assured that the sample could be returned free of charge but I had to pay $18 to return it. I was misled by the representative who took my order.

I was very disappointed with one of the two pillows I initially ordered: Surya Trenza TZ-004 (the TZ-001 was fine). The blue is much brighter than shown in the photo. I could not make it work, so I returned it today after ordering another charcoal pillow Surya Trenza TZ-001. I had to pay $5.95 in shipping for the replacement pillow and $31.98 in shipping to return the awful blue Surya Trenza pillow. I was not allowed to simply mail the cover to exchange it for the charcoal. $37.93 in shipping for a $55.00 pillow when the color is not as shown does not make me feel appreciated even though your emails say otherwise.
