“I rented a car for 7 days in Pisa through this company, and the experience was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, immediately rejecting my credit card because the name and numbers weren’t embossed—something that is rarely an issue with other rental companies. They also insisted I present an international driver’s license, even though my regular license has been accepted by multiple rental agencies across Europe without issue.
The staff then offered a “solution”: if I purchased their expensive premium insurance, suddenly my license would be acceptable and they would also accept American Express, which they had just refused. It felt like we were being pressured into paying extra for something we shouldn’t have needed.
We had no real choice but to accept this, as we were stranded at the airport and needed the car. While waiting, I saw at least five other customers turned away for similar reasons—non-embossed cards, arriving slightly late, or other minor issues—and all were offered the same “solution” of buying extra insurance.
This company clearly has a business model based on upselling unnecessary extras under pressure. It seems very likely that the staff earn commissions on these upgrades.”
“Booked a ford Kuga for 5 of us, bargain price, didn't realise was booking through a brokers. Arrived at Gatwick early hours to find a bashed up Duster. Ok we all fit so as was tired we were happy to use car, but then the middle seat belt wouldn't pull out so out the car we got, unloaded luggage and demanded another car that was safe, they were not happy we wasn't prepared to take car and use with insufficient seat belts , but we stood our ground. Eventually after lots of phone calls by them and over an hour of us standing in their car park, they decided to take us to our hotel on a minibus and deliver the car to us the next day when it had been fixed. 8am next morning woke with the phone ringing. Car was outside, husband went down to take the usual pics etc and was pleasantly surprised. A very lovely Qashqai was our replacement. All good after that. Deposit was only held on credit card so didn't even leave bank. Took car back at end of holiday, shuttle back to airport quick and efficient.
Despite the awful start £150 hire for a week, all was good. Prob would think twice about using them again
, but if I was on a tight budget, yes I would use them.”
“I booked car hire with Carjet, turns out that they are just a broker, ended up car hire is with Surprise car hire near Heathrow airport. I was charged twice for the car hire by Carjet and then scammed at the Surprise office to pay again. Plus aggressive upsell practices in Surprise office, and then when returning the car more aggressive behaviour trying to scam saying existing marks on the car were new. AVOID.”
“Renting from this agency was my worst experience dealing with car rental representatives and one of the most confounding. First, there is a very aggressive upsell on insurance. The agent really pushed me to add an $1100 insurance package. When I declined, he dropped it down to €990 claiming that this was a very good deal. I still declined. He then told me that I should buy the metal coverage for €450. Finally, he got the idea that I was going to refuse and use the insurance provided by my credit card.
Even more bizarre was the extra charge of an extra day. I had said that I would return my car May 30 at 12:00AM, which is midnight. He told me that 12:00 AM May 30 was actually 12:00AM April 29 and I would have to buy an additional days insurance. So I wrote it out for him. 11:58 PM on the 30th. 11:59 PM on the 30th and then it’s 12:00 AM, look it’s midnight on the 30th. Then it goes 12:01 AM and so on and so on until you get to 1:00AM. Nope, made no difference. I had to buy an extra days insurance because he would not agree That midnight on Friday, May 30 could be written as 12:00AM. He insisted it was actually the 29th!
Fortunately, during our 19 days of driving the vehicle, we did not have any incidents and nobody hit me, and I didn’t hit anybody. The return of the car was easy. But what a hassle getting out of the lot when we picked it up. Not to mention the extra day I had to purchase Due to the agents inability to tell time.
People travelling with us rented a vehicle from budget, no issues and no big upsell. My daughter also rented a vehicle from a different agency. No problems and no upsell. Bottom line, avoid this agency.”
“Would give 0 stars of if I could.
I didn’t have a pin for my credit card to leave deposit so offered money from a debit card or my husband’s credit card instead. Wouldn’t give me the car unless I paid another £250 in insurance. Car only cost £100 to hire.
Walked away without car. This probably happens a lot. Absolutely no customer care. Completely no attempt to help you find a way around this simple mistake (I’ve never had to use a pin in the past when hiring a car). Only interested in taking more money off you.
Alex - the man behind the desk at Manchester airport office was very rude.”
“Absolutely useless! Avoid at any cost! Canceled my booking because I turn up just over an hour late and I didn't notified them. Like everyone flying could call in midair for potential delays. The options presented were to pay additional 650, to rebook for next day or to pay 2000 deposit but only with credit card (which I don't have). I end up renting from another company and now fighting for refund. What a waste of time!”
“This was the second time I have used Sur Price in the UK (Heathrow Airport). At the first visit it was obvious the company was starting up and its location was not functional. The staff were obviously inexperienced. This time the process was smooth and efficient and the agent USMAN was very professional and businesslike. The vehicle was relatively young and in very good condition. There was no attempt to upsell any services like insurance. The return process was quick and efficient and the provision of a complementary shuttle service from the airport and to our hotel after return was much appreciated. I strongly recommend this company that considtently offers better pricing than its competitors.”
“Avoid this company at all costs. When we arrived, they tried to scam us by saying we needed an international driver’s license—even though we’ve rented cars all over the world without one and it's not a legal requirement in this country. Because we didn’t have one, they tried to charge us twice the original rental price. Total bait-and-switch.
To make things worse, the person who was supposed to pick us up from the airport was extremely rude, unhelpful, and nearly impossible to find. We spent a ridiculous amount of time wandering around trying to locate them, only to be met with attitude and zero customer service.
This company is shady, unprofessional, and clearly preys on travelers. Save yourself the headache and go with a reputable rental agency.”
“When we arrived at the car rental location, we were denied the rental because the main driver's name did not match the credit card holder's name. To resolve this issue, we were asked to pay an additional fee of approximately €350. When we refused to pay, we were told that the amount we had already paid would not be refunded. I then pointed out a nearby car rental company where we could get a better offer. In response, the rental company lowered the additional fee to €278 – which was still higher than our original rental payment.
The entire situation felt unreasonable and unfair, as we had no choice but to pay a disproportionately high extra fee. Additionally, both the car rental staff were rude and unprofessional.”
“Disaster!
The car was a wreck, with over 17,000 km! The service light was on and the car was too loud. Error messages kept popping up on the speedometer.
Not recommended at all, never again!”
“When I returned the car, they asked me for 10 euros for the dirty car. This is completely wrong, because when I got the car, it was already dirty. I also made a video. On the penultimate day of the rental period, I washed the car completely with soap. The roads were dry. Since I was in a hurry when I returned the car, I didn't argue with the employee. This is the second time that the same car rental company has asked me for more money when returning a car, claiming that the car was dirtier than at the beginning of the rental period. The first time I had to pay 20 euros. This is not an okay attitude.”
“I can’t thank Supreme Asset7 enough for helping me recover $136,700 worth of BTC from a scam platform. Their team was highly professional, reliable, and supportive throughout the process. They worked diligently, keeping me updated every step of the way, and successfully retrieved my funds when I thought all hope was lost. Their expertise and commitment are truly remarkable.

“No había la posibilidad de contratar un seguro a todo riesgo, así que nos cobraron 100€ de depósito que nunca nos devolvieron.
Ellos mismos (tienen los coches localizados) se encargaron de robarnos un espejito del retrovisor (quién va a robar una pieza que cuesta 5 o 6€) y por eso se quedaron ese depósito.
Una estafa en toda regla.”
“Another case of failure to return the deposit. Paid a deposit of £1500. Returned the car on time no issues with the car and signed off as returned in good condition, right amount of fuel etc. Told refund of deposit would be made in 14 days as they needed to check there had been no tickets issued against the car while on hire. FYI they don’t need to hold the deposit because if there was a ticket they could give the driver’s details to the authorities and forward the ticket on. 21 days pass and no refund. Tried calling them multiple times but company refused to answer and cut me off. Eventually got through. Company accepted refund was due but that it takes 14 working days. When pointed out that wasn’t what they originally said and that in any case 14 business days had already passed they then claimed their admin staff had been on holiday and this had delayed payments by a week. Clearly a lie. Although the company trades as Surprice Car Rentals the deposits are paid to a different company. Looks like a scam set up. Have reported it to my credit card company.”
