Had an irish car insurance policy. Worst customer experience I have ever encountered. This company makes it impossible for you to cancel your policy, stay clear at all costs their prices aren't competitive and their customer care is SHOCKING!!! - expect a minimum of 15 mins hold time should you have a query and don't ever expect a call back. They really really don't care about their customers all they want is your euros!!! Avoid!!!!

Twice now I've had to contact the AA. And on neither occasion have they been any help whatsoever. There is a lot of small print in their cover and they always seem to find a reason why they cannot help. I'll be cancelling my membership as it's more like a donation than paying for any kind of service.

3 hours for a puncture, had time to buy a new tyre, when they turned up they couldn't fit it despite call centre specifically confirming they could do so. They ended up calling a local service who were there in 30 mins which I was made to pay for. Total fiasco.

I still don't have my car back after 6 weeks. Communication with the AA and with the garage have been poor.

I have been a member for over 20 years and on the rare occasion that I have called on the AA the patrolmen have all been very helpful. However on my last call out 3 years ago it took over 2 hours to attend. Yesterday, 3 miles from home on the very busy A47 my MGB suffered a complete electrical failure at 2.35pm.I called the AA, explained the situation and was told I would be seen by 3.50pm. She then stated this may be extended by another 3 hours! I explained I was elderly with a heart condition and she promised I would be shown as urgent priority and seen within an hour. This did not happen and I rang again and eventually got through after being cut off. I was told I was marked as priority but could not be seen before 7.30pm. I said this was totally unacceptable and why had I not be rang about this delay. He said nothing could be done and I told him I was left with no option but to abandon an expensive car and walk over 3 miles home along a busy A road without pavements. I arranged for them to collect me at my home after 7.30 in order to hopefully retrieve the car. However a local patrolman did spot my problem and rang me just before 6pm. to say he was at the car. He then had to return to my home to collect me. We retrieved the car and trailered it home. I was later able to diagnose the fault as a failed relay which had been renewed 2 years ago. The AA used to be an excellant organisation but after endless ownership changes it has cut its staff to the bone to maximise its profits and to hell with its customers. I shall not be renewing

Absolutely horrific experience with the AA. I have used AA many times before not just car insurance I have used them for my business van insurance and also travel insurance every single time I travel. I opt for AA as they are a large company and reputable or so I thought. I made a claim on my insurance policy as my engine sustained water damage through no fault of my own. I called up gave all my details and information and was asked many questions which was absolutely fine. I have neva ever in my life mad an insurance claim on amy policy so this was all new to me. I pay my insurance premium in full for the year every single year, if the damage sustained was a small repair I would of paid for it myself as opposed to claiming on my policy. Firstly they explained if the cars repairable they will give me a courtesy car.. if not I do not get a courtesy car.. ok. Next they put there approved garage repair centre in touch with me and they arrange a day to come out to assess my car. The day comes im assured 3x the person is on there way. Its after 6pm and still no sign I get a call saying the guy had many ppl to see can they come tomorrow. Im self employed took the day off for this and they ask can they come tomorrow I was absolutely blown away. I rescheduled for the following week they assessed and say the cars a right off! surely thats it right? No 2 weeks go by I hear nothing from anyone. No update. No call. Nothing at all. I call them and Im told there sending the same garage out again to assess my car yet agen, when ive been told its internal engine damage so to send them agen would be pointless as they cannot Remove the engine. The guy from the approved garage was perplexed why AA sent him out agen for yet more pictures. Again after this weeks go by and nothing. I have to call them for an update. Nearly 3mths with no car not one time have I received an update call if I never callex up I would never know what is happening. Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with

AA..? This company are CROOKS under a big title. If there was a zero star review i would leave that, absolutely incompetent and do not care about customers. I purchased cover with the AA on four days ago on a sat, they quite readily took the £149 payment but then an error message came up saying contact the AA. This is where this shambles of a company started my nightmare, got through to an agent and was told payment has been taken but no membership set up,wait until monday and it should be sorted. Called their complaints department on monday, after a 40 minute wait for them to answer the phone, spoke to LIZZY,told her the situation and she said she would log as a complaint and get back to me by end of monday,i asked what would happen if i broke down, she said call complaints and they would sort it.??? somehow i dont think complaints department are open after 10pm when i finish work. With this dreaded weather coming,i wanted to make sure i at least have cover. NEVER heard back from lizzy on monday. Called complaints dept again today, spoke to a lady who told me lizzy wasnt in but she had emailed their payments team to see what happened. i asked this lady whether i had cover, she said no,the money has been taken but no cover set up( this is THEFT, plain and simple) Went on to tell me she could do nothing, there was no manager i could speak to and no one could ring me back, also if i was to breakdown i DIDNT have cover and would need to pay again.!!!!!!! I have already paid, but she said no,would need to pay again until they find out error, apparently their systems went down on saturday,STRANGE that payment was taken then? So i asked for refund ,she said she could not do that either until lizzy got back to me,but she couldnt tell me when that was, today, tomorrow, who knows with this bunch of amateurs. So now i have no cover but payment has been taken,i am left in limbo by these crooks, they are not willing to refund my money.. I am having to raise it with bank and see if they can do anything. If you are considering the AA,have a look at what they are like, the complaints dept is a joke, and serves no purpose, absolute disgrace of a company.

Rang the helpline to inform the AA that I did not want to renew my policy .Asked for postal evidence of my no claims as the website wouldn’t let me log in.was told it would be sent.I was emailed the next day with a new renewal note which I still could not access.rang again today as I have not received anything in the post waited 25 mins on hold .spoke to a woman and asked to be posted my evidence .she said i would have to ring again at the end of the week as my current insurance was still running and I would only get 9 years no claims and not 10.I started to speak again and explain the fault and she hung up .very poor service .I won’t be using the aa again.

I recently took out car insurance. A deposit was taken which is fine. I called to cancel my policy within the 14 day cooling off period to be advised there would be an outstanding balance to pay. How can there be a balance to pay when I have already paid a deposit and then cancelled within 14 day's. I then look at my bank account and a transaction by AA has been taken out of my original payment card. This was the first time I have used this company and will be the last. Complete robbery...

The worst and dumbest company on the planet. First of all, the system is a nightmare, they don\'t have any email address, when you upload your documents its a dumb process. When you call them about the claim, it\'s the same like you are speaking with a robot. For 3 weeks I try to made this application for a loan, they never try to help me with a proper advice, and after all this time they said they need to cancel my loan because my name on passport its not on the same order with my name in other documents. Its the same name you dumb idiots. Useless people, useless system. I hope aa you go bankrupt. I will write a review each day, every day and I hope people will never chose this rubbish company. Have a lovely day AA.

My husband was left for 5 hours from 10pm in minus temperatures last night .with a non repairable puncture, in a stupid new car with no spare... (another brilliant car manufacturer money saving idea I expect )After 2am a non AA van came (having first been sent to completely the wrong address across town by AA call centre) only to say he couldn't fix, but AA would not relay. They made noises about a tyre servicing van in the area which never materialised...finally At 3am (5hrs after first call) He was told to notify police where the car was, and to get a cab home....£70, and I'm not holding my breath on a refund....and they assured him someone had been booked to help between 11 and 12. Am. He arrived home at 5 am, and had to find a way back to the car (over 50 miles) by 11am. No offer of a cab back! I drove him since he had only 3 hrs sleep, and he rung on the way...nothing was on record as being booked. Got to car, took wheel off...no one came, so took wheel to garage for new tyre....no one came...eventually sorted the car on our own, 14hrs after he has first requested help, ironically using an x-AA van to get there, take tyre to garage etc. Will be cancelling after over 20 yrs, and putting in a formal complaint and request for full refund. .....when We've both calmed down a bit! We now know AA have sold off almost all their vans and recovery lorries, to try and save money.....and surprise surprise, are no longer reliable, in fact pitiful service with incompetent call centre...and don't get me started about having to ring every year when I get the letter saying the price has pretty much doubled....nasty trick.

Recently my policy has been cancelled for not paying £36 but I received a letter over a month ago to pay additional £36, which I phoned and tried to make a payment but the person on customer service said that I don’t have to make any payment as there is not any outstanding payment on my policy. I tried to call customer service the whole day trying to resolve this issue but The AA customer service is just too DISGRACEFUL!. I even tried to speak to the manager but she was so rude it's unbelievable. I asked her I want to make a complaint about what happened to me on this policy. My policy started on 29/11/2017 with a premium of £824.30 and they are saying we are not going to refund any money back to me on cancellation of my policy (THIS IS JUST DAYLIGHT ROBBERY). Who would want their policy to get cancelled for paying JUST £36 and let £824.30 go to waste?? I tried to phone on this 0344 412 4684 like over a month ago as well as The Co-operative insurer to make a payment of £36 which that asked me to pay for my policy but the individuals at both party I spoke to said that I don’t have any outstanding balance on my policy. THEY ARE THIEFS!!

They left me and my pregnant wife stranded in the cold for 5 hours then say they not coming for us cause they had came for me before and I never had the recipe on me for the job that I had done on my car and bear in mind they had drop my car off directly at the garage. They put the phone down on us and cancel the call out so we're left in the cold 8 month pregnant woman I call the garage and let the talk directly to the garage and they left us I am never use them ever again I am going to cancel my membership

read well the T&C as once you have taken up a cover, you can't cancel it and get a refund (like you do with all Insurances). You only have 14 days from signing up. That could not be right. Please ditch this unfair practice. Thanks
