Appalling telephone service this morning to update the AA with my new car details that I am purchasing at the weekend! Utterly abrupt and unfriendly. I do less miles p.a. now so he changed it - the new quote came out the same. And there would be no charge. Looking good so far! But I was expecting the quote to come out less so I reasoned that he might as well keep the annual mileage the same if it wasn't be going to be any cheaper, so I asked him to keep the policy at the original mileage. "That will be £25 - how are you going to pay!" Suddenly the "no charge to supply the car details" became £25! That has left a nasty taste in my mouth. Really abrupt, unhelpful, faceless, person..............will never consider using using the AA again ever, for any product. I wouldn't even give them 1 star!!! When policy comes up for renewal shortly the AA is blacklisted...................why is everything a rip off these days??????

Member over 20 years. Only used couple of times very good service till now!! Recovery is now contracted out. No urgency to recover vehicle took 8 hours even though my husband was having palliative care and needed oxygen. Car then lost for over 24 hrs. Continually moved back recovery time. AA is not what it use to be. Disgusting service! Watch dog here I come!! How many others out there experienced the same? My daughter yesterday (the day of my husbands funeral) is experiencing exactly the same scenario, now over 24 hours for the vehicle to be recovered! Disgraceful service again!

Even to get someone to talk to was a chalange in the first place then I was told to wait one hour, that increased to nearly 3hours. when I called again had to listen again an advise how to stay safe on road side. I learnt that since my flat battery is not life thretening I was placed at the end of the queue... as if they were A&E or firefighters. Apparently 'average' waiting time in capital is 3h that means that some drivers probably wait half day for assistance bear that in mind this cold winter.

This company is utterly useless. I have had cause to call Relay 3 times in the last 5 years. Each time it’s taken 3 to 4 hours to pick me up. In the last case I am now waiting in South Mims for my second pick up. UTTER UTTER rubbish. Do not use them. Also my bill is £218 a year. But if I’m a new customer it’s £139. Never use them or stay with them for longer than a year if you do. What price 40 years loyalty

Oh no they told me last week not to bother again I'm out of time for the ombudsmen too. Like I mention I would hate for other customers to be in the same situation. I call it a public service to my fellow travellers. I would hate for other customers to be treated as poorly as me

Lost my car key on a trip to Wales. Your response was to try to sell me an upgrade. Fine. Agreed to it. Luckily got cut off on mobile, so nothing happened. No follow up calls. Nobody gave a toss that we were miles from home with nowhere to stay and small children abandoned. Wretched. As far as AA was concerned we could have died before you did anything. You will never receive a penny from anybody connected with me or my family ever again. Cheers.

I took out full cover for £13 a month.Noticed they had taken payments of £26 after the first year. They said I was sent notification by post but I wasn't, So, why not e-mail notification? guess that's harder to "loose". Phoned to complain but not interested, membership cancelled.

Very Very poor service, Been passed from pillar to post. AA are a brokers not a insurance. BEWARE ? Claimed for a accident that wasn't our fault, when my car was smashed into, while I was in bed. Still wait for any feed back. from AA 10 days later.

there was a time it was possible to pick up the phone and dial the AA, quickly being put in touch with a human being to talk to. I spent some of the most frustrating 30 minutes + today trying to get through the computerised maze which now seems to be the only way to talk to anyone. (I was unable o locate a simple e-mail route to do this anywhere on there website). As for the phone system, totally automated, no way of getting around the "enter your 16 digit number, now enter some more numbers, now some more" then you get through to someone who doesn't seem to care whether one stays or leaves the service". In the end I cancelled my membership. all I was trying to do was sort out the transfer of cover from my existing car to a Toyota that came with a free one year AA cover. The contrast when ringing Toyota Roadside Assistance was marked, one phone number to call, 3 rings and I was talking to a very helpful and friendly customer support person who sorted my query instantly - that's how the AA used to be, I hate what you have done to your customer service (note - I'm an old man but have been using computers since 1959, so its not computers I hate but a system that hides its helpful staff behind a badly implemented system

AVOID!!! Waste of money they've used any excuse to not pay out and refuse to call to make you aware expect the garage to call by the time you find out you have to hand hire car back and find your own garage poor customer service

I've got boiler cover with them. Thankfully it's up for renewal next month and there's zero chance I'm staying with them. They're actually asking Homeserve to take over. What a joke. Homeserve came out to me beginning of the year, on behalf of the AA. Didn't fix my boiler and was totally disinterested. I'd had no heating etc for about a week. I was due the annual boiler service today 12-6pm. No one turned up. Homeserve hadn't thought to tell me it had been cancelled and neither did AA. Wasted a whole day. I'm sick and tired of shoddy companies like these. Useless. Rude. No morals.

Avoid at all costs!!! I took out home and contents insurance with the AA. A month in to the policy I wanted to add a high value item to the policy. However when I called to add this to the policy they wanted to charge me an extra £200 on top of what I had already paid however when I looked online, including the high value item the total cost was £190 where as the AA were trying to charge me double this!! At no point did they try and resolve this or explain why this is they just expected me to pay it!! It is cheaper for me to cancel the policy altogether and go else where which is what I will be doing! I will not be using their services again!!

I got a free 1 year cover when I purchased my car. When I started, AA told me if I pay extra 5£/month I would get the 11£ option from their website. I started paying monthly 5£ and on 22/10/18 I made a call to pay the remaining 8-9 months left, all at once. They said I need to cancel the active one and they will create a new one with the same options and I can pay for the full year But the new option was for 150+£ a year , so they almoust triple it. When I told them to cancel everything, them made me an "one time offer" for 99£/year +10£(to end the year without continuing) Just seen now on their website that it's the actual offer they have for everyone 99£/year or 11£/month So, basically I was getting a higher price. Nice way to treat customers. To confirm, I took the 99£ deal on the and I am an active customer as we speak. Unless I get cancelled for this honest review.
