Everything. This is by far the worst company i have ever dealt with. I was promised a refund by a member of staff. i waited 1 month and then noticed i was not refunded. I then phoned up to check why and they told me there was no record of it and that i would have to make a complaint. Then when i made i complaint i was told i would get a refund. I contacted them by email which was 5 days ago and they have still not responded. I am just off the phone from them which i was made to wait 20 minutes to talk to someone and ive been told to wait again and im not unsure of where im at

This has to be the worst service ever, I was told 1 hour first then 2 hours then 3. To top it off its not even a AA engineer coming and I'm still waiting. Let's see how long they will say when the 3 hours is up.

The Customer service team are shocking ,I have family cover when my young daughter used them the officer did not even do the minimum of recommending a garage or doing a road side repair (fowled spark plug!!!). So he left a young vulnerable young girl broken down at the roadside. Not quite the fuzzy advert on telly , Customer services admitted the officer actions were not acceptable and came me £50. Fuming the repair was over £135 and AA don't go to independent resolution because they treat people fairly ( I think not). I feel so strongly about it I am going to small claims court about it .

Please think twice about using AA as a recovery service. I broke down on a major road heading out of London. The situation was critical as rush hour cars and Motorbikes were speeding towards my vehicle not noticing my Hazard lights. I begged the AA to come. The respondent appeared to read from a script which in no way reflected the urgency I described. For one and a half hours I had to scream and signal to other motorists to avoid my car and avoid a serious incident. Eventually I had to call the police to come and do the job of the AA. The rest is all a real long and shocking story. Six hours later the AA sent a lorry to recover my car. The AA were absolutely negligent. Each time I called they said the lorry was on different jobs. What a real breech of contract. To those who have been loyal for years to the AA. You are probably at the back of the Que. Its all about enticing new customers with pretend packages. There probably won't be an AA van in your area. Now the drivers are thin on the ground and can be called to breakdowns miles away. That why you could wait for 6 hours like me. How about you find a good mechanic from a regular garage with a recovery van and suggest some similar agreement. It won't be extortionate. Disgusting profits won't dictate the nature of the service you receive. The only satisfaction left is knowing this deceitful agency will never enjoy another pound from me.

I was ripped off by them, they replaced my car battery where there was no need, I made the complain it took them 4 months to ,,resolve’’ with no result I wish I kept the battery and check independently, by the way very bad customer service

The AA is running a scam. Been posting leaflets through letterboxes offering £20 M&S vouchers to sign up for their Recovery Service. They outsource this to a Company called Xexec Ltd and this Company is taking money out of people's bank accounts it has access to, A real nasty piece of work. A real scam Company. So after 6 weeks when you don't get your M&S voucher - call the AA and they give you this Companies telephone number - it's Option 3 and surprise surprise it's not a manned number and just rings out. So the AA with it's scam partner Xexec Ltd are taking money for no reward that they used to get you to sign up.

I wish I could give them less than 1star! Disgusting service with cocky arrogant guys who come to help! I paid for over a year and never required their services. When in need they wanted to charge me a £50 call out fee WTF!!! I later found out if was due to changing my vehicle and the AA app failed to change over my vehicle, despite manually taking the time to do so a couple of weeks previous. To top it off I was told in my dispute letter, their opinion is final and I do not have a complaint so do not complain again! Really!!!! I thought this was a huge, well respected company! Do yourself a favour and AVOID! Yes it may only be around £7-8 pm but if you don’t get what you pay for, spend it on something worth while...perhaps the RAC 🤣

I recently had a puncture along an isolated country lane. It took 15 minutes to speak to an operator, despite it being midday on a Wednesday and very good weather. I did not know the name of the country lane but was able to give very precise directions to my location. I also impressed upon them that I had my 88 year old mother in the car who was distressed. I was assured that someone would be with us within 40 minutes. Two further phone calls and just under 2 hours later, a breakdown van from a local garage arrived. I wrote a very measured email to complain about the poor response and all that was offered was 3 months free membership, no apology or concern. I have been a member since 1979 but I have now joined a rival service who value their customers.

Bought a breakdown policy for a specific vehicle. Called today fir assistance to say they can't help me as the vehicle is too heavy....but happy to provide a policy on this vehicle. I was left stranded with my disabled child! I am absolutely furious! How can you provide a policy for a certain vehicle then tell me you don't provide assistance for that same vehicle? Absolutely disgusted with the AA.

Took far too long to come out to me when I had broken down. Complained about the service and they upheld my complaint agreeing time to come unacceptable. Letter however just full of standardised cliched statements about not being typical of their standard of service. They said complaint was closed and offered no gesture of goodwill whatsoever (such as reduced premium on renewal). Did not address part of my complaint that they had over charged me for renewal membership over many years because I was a loyal customer. I have learned a lesson: shop around before renewal especially as their breakdown service is poor.

Disgusting service and policy. Two of the women in customer service that I spoke to were extremely rude and not very understanding. The only saving grace was one women who was lovely that tried to help, unfortunately the companies policy that is disgusting wouldn’t allow her to help. Having missed a direct debit payment, which was entirely my fault, the AA decided, instead of trying to take payment again or do everything they could to get in contact with me, they decided to take the entire policy amount of £372 out of my account on January the 2nd. I had not received an email, which apparently they don’t do, no phone call, just one letter which I missed which stated that I missed a payment and I would be charged £12. Absolutely disgusting that they would do that as a policy. What is more disgusting is that when I called up to try and get the money back, even after explaining that the money was for food shopping that month for me, my wife and two children, I was met with it’s not really our problem it’s our policy and all you can do is cancel your policy which we will charge you an extortionate amount for and refund £181?!?!? All because of one missed payment. Happy new year.

We had an automatic Corsa and could not get it started we tried to jump it ran for a little bit but died quickly. So we called out the AA they said the car was a right off as it was a specific fault with the automatic gearbox we took his word for it. The car site for about 6 months until a friend suggested buying a new battery we fitted the new battery and the car worked perfectly fine we sold the car as we had bought a new one because we believed it was a right off shocking service by what's meant to be a very experienced mechanic would never trust an AA mechanic again.

Appalling telephone service this morning to update the AA with my new car details that I am purchasing at the weekend! Utterly abrupt and unfriendly. I do less miles p.a. now so he changed it - the new quote came out the same. And there would be no charge. Looking good so far! But I was expecting the quote to come out less so I reasoned that he might as well keep the annual mileage the same if it wasn't be going to be any cheaper, so I asked him to keep the policy at the original mileage. "That will be £25 - how are you going to pay!" Suddenly the "no charge to supply the car details" became £25! That has left a nasty taste in my mouth. Really abrupt, unhelpful, faceless, person..............will never consider using using the AA again ever, for any product. I wouldn't even give them 1 star!!! When policy comes up for renewal shortly the AA is blacklisted...................why is everything a rip off these days??????

Member over 20 years. Only used couple of times very good service till now!! Recovery is now contracted out. No urgency to recover vehicle took 8 hours even though my husband was having palliative care and needed oxygen. Car then lost for over 24 hrs. Continually moved back recovery time. AA is not what it use to be. Disgusting service! Watch dog here I come!! How many others out there experienced the same? My daughter yesterday (the day of my husbands funeral) is experiencing exactly the same scenario, now over 24 hours for the vehicle to be recovered! Disgraceful service again!

Even to get someone to talk to was a chalange in the first place then I was told to wait one hour, that increased to nearly 3hours. when I called again had to listen again an advise how to stay safe on road side. I learnt that since my flat battery is not life thretening I was placed at the end of the queue... as if they were A&E or firefighters. Apparently 'average' waiting time in capital is 3h that means that some drivers probably wait half day for assistance bear that in mind this cold winter.

This company is utterly useless. I have had cause to call Relay 3 times in the last 5 years. Each time it’s taken 3 to 4 hours to pick me up. In the last case I am now waiting in South Mims for my second pick up. UTTER UTTER rubbish. Do not use them. Also my bill is £218 a year. But if I’m a new customer it’s £139. Never use them or stay with them for longer than a year if you do. What price 40 years loyalty
