“the product came in good condition. The first order was 2 days late because of Fed-Ex. We've enjoyed the rellenos and tortillas.”

“Tamales were flavorless. The chile rellanos were tough and contained to many seeds. I can buy better locally at 1/2 the price and have them delivered fresh and warm. Disappointed.”

Hi Gary, As a native New Mexican I know a fresh hot chile relleno or a fresh tamale is hard to beat. How did you prepared the tamales and rellenos? This can tremendously impact the flavor and texture of these products. The tamales should be steamed. The rellenos should be either pan fried, deep fried, or air fried. “My shopping and shipping experience was very good. Product arrived in excellent condition. My only issue has been that the hot chile is closer to medium than hot. I wish the extra hot would of been a choice. But overall, on a Covid year and no local roasted chile available I’m pleased. Thank you for being there for us!”

“Took months to receive order. Haven't had a chance to try chile because I had it shipped to an address that I am no longer at. Have to wait several weeks before I can try the chile. Needless to say, won't be ordering from this place again....hope the chile tastes wonderful.”

Hello Patricia, Unfortunately, the season was a bit later than usual this year. We always use chile grown from seed for our Roasted Hatch Green Chile as it's a bit larger and absolutely beautiful. Our most popular chile varieties, like Big Jim and Joe Parker, weren't fully mature and ready to harvest until the beginning of September which really pushed back being able to start roasting. Typically we start roasting our Hatch Green Chile in early August and roast through the first week of November. We are completely done roasting our chile as we had a freak snowstorm on October 29th. We've never seen snow in Southern New Mexico in October, just another crazy event we'll add into the roller coaster that's been 2020. On top of a delayed start and early snow, Covid-19 threw another wrench in our process. In order to protect our customers and employees, we had to completely overhaul our process and start from scratch. Because of all our new virus-related protocols and processes, we were very blessed to keep every single one of our employees healthy. We understand this did delay our roasting and shipping scheduled but it was necessary to protect everyone. I wanted to check in and see if the order got delivered. It shows in our system that it was. “I was raised on Hatch green chilies when I lived in Silver City and Grants. Hatch Chili Store never disappoints. Recieved our box, placed in the fridge and came back 3 days later to roast up a storm. Now can't wait to have dinner Hatch Green Chili in our stuffing first Thanksgiving!! Hatch Green Chili, your one and only stop!!”

“I ordered 25 lbs of each Mild, Med, and Hot. The medium arrived the next week. However there was an issue with the farmer that picks them so the next 2 boxes were delayed. although I was a bit disappointed, It let me know that the chili peppers are picked fresh and shipped the same day. The following week I received the rest of my chili and then some. If I had 1 complaint, It was that the heat is very inconsistent. I had mild that were hot and hot and medium that were mild. There was no rhyme or reason with the heat of them. so it's like a chili roulette. all that being said, the chili's have amazing flavor and I've found that they go with just about anything. I've made all kinds of new dishes with them and have added them to just about everything. now with a little chili experience under my belt, I can't wait for next season. I will be ordering them again.”

“I have to say we were extremely happy with the chile we ordered. It seems lately everything is slipping in quality. The store bought frozen chile is expensive and cooks down to 2/3 what the container seemed to have, but the chile we ordered from you guys was great! We pretty much ended up with what we started and the taste was amazing.”

“Good Morning! I'm hesitant to write an honest review. However, as a huge green chile fan and supporter of the Hatch Chile Store, I hope this will help with your production and service. On a very positive note, I was thoroughly impressed by the speed in which my emails were answered. I, also, like how I can receive credits, after referring friends and family to order from the Hatch Chile Store. These are excellent qualities and incentives. However, somewhere along the line, communication became confusing. Specifically, the phrase "first in, first out" was used quite frequently, when inquiring about when my order would be shipped. Honestly, I thought I had ordered early enough to receive my green chile products in a timely manner. I guess I was wrong. Yes, I understand that the weather and the pandemic constraints played a huge negative factor. For a chile addict, this delay was painful. Thankfully, as an optimist, I look forward to next year's smoother timeline. Once i received my order, I questioned the quality of the product. To date, I have used two bags of roasted, peeled, and chopped green chile. Oh, my goodness. Both bags were filled with endless seeds and excessive skins. I have never experienced such poor quality of a finished green chile product. As a result, the taste and flavor experience was hampered and had a low-key impact. Again, as a green chile addict, the anticipated high was a true let down. Finally, I feel the Mesilla Valley citizens are being ignored, when it comes to shopping locally for green chile products. I desperately miss having a small retail shop to purchase our roasted, peeled, and chopped green chile. To learn that the green chile needed to be shipped from Sacramento or Ohio or other distribution centers is disheartening. Please consider reopening a local shop for a few months to accommodate locals who want to shop here in the valley. If you need help, I would love to volunteer my time.
