When I received my order, the tamales, rellanos and chimichangas were defrosted. The single ice pack, (I assume it was an ice pack) was totally melted. I reached out to the company and was told I should have paid for the expedited shipping and that the food still be safe to eat. I paid a lot of money for the food and the packing/shipping was far below my expectation. The response from the company conveyed to me that they really didn't care if the food was spoiled or not. I will not be ordering from this company again.

The chili is not HOT. Last year my son-in-law ordered chopped hot chili. True to name, it was hot. The volume in the bag of whole chili is less then the chopped.

The chile is packed nicely and delivered in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the flavor of the chile is very muted (I'm not just referring to the heat, but the flavor also). I was alos disappointed to have been shipped chile from last year and not this year, which could have contributed to the poor flavor. I wish I woud have been told ahead of time that the chile I was receiving was a year old...I likely would not have ordered it then.

I ordered some frozen items and 3 jars of salsa and a BBQ sauce. The frozen items were received because they were shipped quickly however the other items took a little longer even though I paid for shipping and when I received them the BBQ sauce jar was cracked and it had leaked. I am not sure if this was because the items got hot during shipping but I called for a replacement and just realized I have yet to receive it. However when I checked it shows it was delivered. What gives? I will call tomorrow.

Product came in rotting. Separated out 5 pounds of rotten chile. Called and sent email. You responded that I will get 5 more pounds to replace. That was fine. Four days later ( due to work schedule) I went to roast that 20 pounds just to find that another 5 pounds or so had rotted. The chiles that did survive wer wrinkly and limp. Just a bad experience. I even paid for better shipping to reduce this possibility. Thus happened last time I ordered a few years back.

Chilis are tough and stringy, difficult to eat, breading is mediocre, there is some cheese but certainly not stuffed. Too much money for a mediocre product. You won’t get anymore of my business

Sorry Hatch Chili Store, two stars is only because Daniel in customer support was so good. I placed my order for Chile Rellenos and some how added Hatch Chili which I didn't want so Daniel gave me credit on the unwanted chili. I got a notice that my order had been shipped so I started tracking it. UPS ground from New Jersey??? Well, my Hatch Chile Rellenos are made or warehoused or whatever in New Jersey??? That's interesting! Daniel explained to me later when my shipment arrived after a week in transport (no longer frozen) a mess! He told me The Hatch Chile Company has warehouses in New Jersey and California to get their product to customers quickly. Funny how a small family owned company in Hatch, New Mexico can afford to have a warehouse on each coast! So, my experience with the small family owned and run Hatch Chile Company didn't work out so well. I did get a total refund even on the insurance the company has the customer pay for to protect the company in case the shipment doesn't arrive or in my case arrives thawed and nasty.

As for the warehouses in New Jersey, we do not own them, they are distribution centers that handle our products. Hatch Chile this year was very disappointing. The Chile was not "HOT" as advertised! The Chile tasted like Bell Peppers and was hard and sort of crunchy. Chile after roasted should not be hard nor crunchy. Last time we ordered from Hatch the chile was roasted well, soft and was "HOT". This year the Chile did not taste like good quality Hatch Chile. Very disappointed!

It took over a month to get my order. When I inquired after 2 weeks, they said it was being processed and would ship out soon. I checked again in 2 more weeks and they then told me they had run out of stock but my order should ship soon. I was notified 2 days later that my order shipped which makes me believe they lost my order or forgot about it.

Hatch Chile is the best, however I am very disappointed that the 10 lbs of Green Chile “Medium” I received on this order has no heat at all. I am making this statement after eating about 2/3 of them since roasting and freezing them in October 2023.

Recently ordered 3 dozen chili rellenos. Website says free shipping but I was charged $50 shipping. Rellenos are mediocre at best. Egg coating was too thick and lacked taste. Chilis are small even for anaheims. I expected queso fresco not Monterey Jack cheese. Too much cheese. Overall very little flavor. I was hoping if they’re good I won’t have to make them myself anymore. I can make much better. I won’t be ordering again.

Hello Stuart, Thanks for your feedback. We do offer free standard shipping on all of our frozen products. You were charged $50 for shipping because you opted for Overnight shipping during checkout. We are sorry to hear that you did not like the rellenos. We use a New Mexican recipe and do our best to make it as true to our traditions as possible. We normally use American cheeses like Monterey jack, rather than more traditional Mexican cheese like queso fresco. Hope this helps. Regards, The Hatch Chile Store

I got pork tamales which I love but found them tasteless with a lack of flavor, even the masa covering was very plain, being a tamale effectionado, I was disappointed, especially since New Mexico is known to be the best..just giving an honest appraisal.

Ordered 3 products and have tried 2 so far. 1: The green chile cheese tamales had absolutely NO CHEESE in them and not as much chile as I had hoped for. They were extremely dry and the masa stuck to the husks and completely fell apart. Very disappointed. Description mentioned gooey cheese - and we got none at all. 2: Chile rellenos - much better than the tamales but still not what we had hoped for. Good amount of cheese, chiles were fine but way too much breading and it was soggy on the inside. We cooked per instructions in the airfryer and actually added 4 minutes to the time but breading still not cooked. 3: frozen green chiles - not expecting any issues with the straight chiles. Will not purchase tamales or rellenos again.
