Hi Mark, FedEx states that you requested that they hold your box at their location on Friday for you to pick up. If this is not true, we can file a claim with FedEx. If it is true, and you did not pick it up after calling and asking them to hold it, they would have held it over the weekend and delivered on Monday. That is what appears to have happened but we'd love to hear your side of the story. Please give us a call at 575-635-4680 after the holiday weekend and we'll get things sorted out. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

This is the second year in a row of two that my order was received with a large quanity of the chiles being rotten and damaged. Last year they were shipped to MD which is a long shipping distance. This year to Sothern CA mush shorter. Tried to get 2nd day air but website kept returning it to the default 3 day ground. I have to comment the company for accepting responsibility and issuing a quick refund without any problem. In future will buy my Hatch chiles when our speciality stores bring them in. I may pay more but I get to pick them myself. The best chile does come from Hatch NM no question about it.

DON'T ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE! I ordered Big Jim medium hot green chile for the Easter weekend. They sent me mild red chile. When I called to complain it took 3 days to get a call back. They wanted to reship the right order but at the same price. I said I shouldn't have to pay air since it will take me a week. They agreed to credit the shipping. But, when they shipped out the second order supposedly the correct product, they shipped it ground knowing it would be spoiled when it got here. I just tried to call them back at 4:20 NM time and of course no one answered the phone. I sent an email demanding the 2nd product delivery not be delivered to my door because it would be rotten. I lived in NM as an adult for over 25 years always put up hatch chile while I was there. I plan on moving back this fall. Never again will I do business with this company. They treat people who are out of town and out of the area like they mean nothing. The hatch store provides horrible service when it comes to getting product to people outside the area. Don't waste your time or money use the New Mexican Connection I have ordered from them 4 times and NEVER had one problem. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Even paid a lot more to get it from Hatch never again. You can also order from Sichler Farms they have great chile and they are great honest people.

Debra, I'm sorry you had a bad experience but I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here. We apologize for inadvertently shipping you the wrong product but actually did re-ship it free of charge. Our hours during the off-season are 10-4 so I'm sorry you missed us. The ground shipment would have been packed with additional dry ice to cover the extra time in transit. We do not ship orders in a manner which would have them arrive spoiled. I just pulled up the tracking history and it appears that your re-shipment was delivered in the appropriate amount of time based on how much dry ice was used (3-Days) and should have still been frozen on arrival. If this was not the case, please let us know and we'll get a second reship out to you. It sounds like you posted this review before receiving the re-ship though so I think there was some degree of misunderstanding here. We treat all of our customers like family and definitely do not treat ANYONE as if they mean nothing. We're the number one choice for shipping chile out of state as evidenced by the thousands of reviews you'll find out there for us. That being said, we are human beings and mistakes do sometimes happen. What brings customers back to us year after year is the way we fix our mistakes, as we did here, by promptly re-shipping orders which are damaged or miss-picked. I hope that having received the re-ship you are now satisfied and would love to hear back from you if that is not the case. Thanks, Preston Mitchell Owner The Hatch Chile Store

Hi Natalie, Our Sandia has tons of heat and flavor. Did you wash it or remove the veins? Either of those things will cut down on the level of heat and roasted flavor significantly. Also, did you try more than one pod? The level of heat will vary significantly from pod to pod. Best, Preston

First time ordering. Package lost then had to wait a total of 2 weeks after my purchase date to get order. The lumbre were not that spicy. I've ordered hatch chilis where all you need is 1/3 cup to give it zing. These were not that spicy enough for me.

I am a Physician from NM and placed and order to be sent to Florida. The Big Jim chile they sent was yellow, consistent with last year's ripe crop. I call them and their front office young girl was an immature nuisance to deal with. Don't buy from this Company as you do not know what you will be getting!

I placed my order and was charged 30+ days ago and still haven't received shipment. I've inquired twice via email about my order and was told the order was still in process. Most recently I was told that a problem occurred during shipment and a new order was being shipped. Overall experience has been terrible, communication nonexistent except when prompted by my inquiries. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Hi Paul, I'm sorry UPS lost your order but it appears we promptly re-shipped it when you notified us of the non-delivery. It looks like the replacement box is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. The tracking number is 1z86455vp244757213.

I placed an order for some frozen roasted chili and bottled salsa in August. I received the bottled salsa promptly, but did not receive the frozen roasted chili. In mid-September I emailed customer support to follow up and was told I would receive the order no later than the third week of September. It is now the end of the last week of September, and I have not received the frozen chili. I called customer support today and was told my order will be shipped 'next week'. Nice. More of the same. It appears the quality of what I ordered is so bad that they refuse to ship it. I hope others have had better luck. I will now have to challenge the charge on my credit card. Darn it! I wanted some chili. I used up the last of last year's order a week ago. That shipment was pretty good :)

Hi Ed, I'm so sorry you feel this way! Your order is in the queue for our Virginia distribution center. Unfortunately, there was a technical glitch which resulted in several orders being held in virtual "limbo". They showed up as ready for shipment in our system, but our new distribution center did not have them in their shipping queue. These issues have been resolved and your order is set to go out on Monday. Enjoy! Best, Preston Mitchell Owner The Hatch Chile Store

Hi Nick, We ship fresh chile every Tuesday and have a disclaimer on the product pages which indicates that orders must be received by Monday at noon for guaranteed shipping the following day. All orders received thereafter are shipped the following Tuesday. As you ordered on Wednesday, the next shipping day was Tuesday the 6th. It looks like your box was picked and shipped on schedule that Tuesday and delivered in 2 days. I'm sorry if there was some sort of confusion as to when your order would ship and would love to discuss it with you. Would you call us at 575-635-4680 when you have a chance? Thanks, Preston

Hi Margie, It looks like the USPS delivered the replacement box the day you posted this. Would you be willing to revise the review? I'm sorry they lost your first box (which appears to now have been delivered late and probably rotten) but believe that we've done exactly as we should in re-shipping you a second box as soon as you let us know. Best, Preston

I was very disappointed in the x-Hot Chile this year. I ordered 25lbs of the mild and 25lbs of the x-Hot, the mild were just as we always get but the x-Hot were the same as the mild. I don't know if I was sent both orders of mild by accident or the Hot Chiles were just not good this year. Derek B

Derek, we'll get a fresh box of Lumbre out to you. It is extremely hot. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Placed and paid for the order in mid-July. Writing this review on August 14th - order not received - no tracking messages received - no idea when to expect the order.

Hi Sharon, it looks like the USPS has lost your box! We'll get that label voided and have a new box shipped out to you today. I'm so sorry this happened. They don't lose boxes very often but when they do, it creates a VERY bad experience for our customers. Hopefully the quick replacement will be enough to change your mind about our company. Best, Preston

I pre-ordered 4 25lb boxes. Only 3 shipped. I had to contact you to get the fourth which is hopefully arriving 2 weeks late. Since I need to use it all at once I am hoping the first 3 boxes are not rotting by then.

Please use what was sent to you ASAP. It will definitely spoil by the time your 4th box is delivered! We're sorry that UPS lost the fourth box and have already re-shipped it at no charge.

Very disappointed in my order. 25 lbs of Sandia Chile that I ordered looked more like 25 lbs of Big Jims. Called right away when I received the order - told it was Sandia. I beg to differ. Roasted all the chile and there was no coughing that you get from roasting hot chile - no burning of hands while peeling all the chile. Chile was thick skinned instead of thin like Sandia's are and were really long like Big Jims and not small to med like Sandia. Made chile burgers for dinner - no heat in the chile! My husband even asked if I forgot to put the chile in the hamburgers. Maybe I shouldn't of pre ordered the chile and waited to place my order so that I get the crop that is picked mid to late August. Last night, smothered our steaks with green chile - no heat. Ugh! Last years order was good and the year before, so this year I am so sad that there isn't any heat to my chile. One positive is that UPS delivered it on schedule and I didn't loose any - not one chile - it was fresh. Ana Maria

Did you devein the chile? All of our early Hot this year has been extremely hot. If not, the only other thing that I can think of is that the picker got out in the wrong row for your box. Please send pics to support@hatch-green-chile.com so we can help figure out what happened and rectify it.
