Very disappointed! The chili quality is no better than anything out of a can!! I lived in NM for 34 years and I know roasted green chili.

I want to return product for a full refund. Lived in NM for over 50 years. Always bought Hatch. This is the first year I bought on line. The absolute WORST experience with Hatch green chili in my life! Bland, no taste, no heat whatsoever! Not only can I not use this substandard product, I will not because of the embarrassment. My entire family was shocked and disappointed. What happened to your company?

I'm sorry but your supply chain is a complete mess and if you want to sell online you have to have that in order before offering those services. We want to support you and telling you the hard truth is part of that.

I placed an online order in August for both chiles and tomales. In September and October we received status updates that the chiles were a little late but would be arriving soon. In November I inquired to find out that our order was being held due to the tomales and would ship as soon as they were received. Then in December we are notified that there were no more whole chiles available and could cancel that part of our order if we wished to. I canceled the whole order and won't be odering anything again. I would think that an order placed in August would have been in a position to get the chiles that were ordered not hold the order waiting for the other part of it to arrive and putting us into a position where the supply was exhausted. We all lost in this transaction.

Preordered this years green chile back in July. Delay after delay I finally cancelled the order on November 23. My reason for canceling was because they were offering guaranteed delivery by Thanksgiving of the same product I ordered back in July, a few days before thanksgiving, yet we’re unable or unwilling to fulfill the existing orders they had. As a premium product ($60-$70 for five pounds, frozen tubs go for $4 a pound at almost all grocery stores in NM) I expect a better experience.

It was a disappointment to say the least as a first time purchaser and for the cost.

Order was delayed. Didn’t get what was requested because of seasonal issues so I was offered a substitute of chopped chili . BUT THEN weeks later they had the whole Chili’s. Available . I was told they wouldn’t be available and the chopped chilies after defrosting smelled sour.

I still have not received my order. I have emailed and called several times, each time that answer was “should ship in the next one to two weeks”

First the order took too long to arrive then I dont understand why the order came from California then it seems like the product was not roasted correctly and I ordered hot and it had no heat and the bags did not seem to be 1 lbs bags all around bad experience. Will not order again thanks for asking. Hope I can buy from the Berridge's in person next year.

When your food arrived, it was still slightly chilled. I called your help line to ask them if it was still OK to eat the rellanos. Whoever I talked with said it was fine as long as they were still cold. Well, we ate them that night, and I was VIOLENTLY sick a few hours later. Definitely food poisoning as I have had it before. Not the flu, not Covid. Food poisoning. Your company should take care to send your items so they stay frozen, and they shouldn't give out poor and dangerous advice. NO ONE should order food from you unless they want to be as sick as I was. A terrible, terrible experience.

Tamales were flavorless. The chile rellanos were tough and contained to many seeds. I can buy better locally at 1/2 the price and have them delivered fresh and warm. Disappointed.

Hi Gary, As a native New Mexican I know a fresh hot chile relleno or a fresh tamale is hard to beat. How did you prepared the tamales and rellenos? This can tremendously impact the flavor and texture of these products. The tamales should be steamed. The rellenos should be either pan fried, deep fried, or air fried. We would love to discuss this further and look into what might have happened here. Please contact us directly at support@hatch-green-chile.com. Best, The Hatch Chile Store

Took months to receive order. Haven't had a chance to try chile because I had it shipped to an address that I am no longer at. Have to wait several weeks before I can try the chile. Needless to say, won't be ordering from this place again....hope the chile tastes wonderful.

Hello Patricia, Unfortunately, the season was a bit later than usual this year. We always use chile grown from seed for our Roasted Hatch Green Chile as it's a bit larger and absolutely beautiful. Our most popular chile varieties, like Big Jim and Joe Parker, weren't fully mature and ready to harvest until the beginning of September which really pushed back being able to start roasting. Typically we start roasting our Hatch Green Chile in early August and roast through the first week of November. We are completely done roasting our chile as we had a freak snowstorm on October 29th. We've never seen snow in Southern New Mexico in October, just another crazy event we'll add into the roller coaster that's been 2020. On top of a delayed start and early snow, Covid-19 threw another wrench in our process. In order to protect our customers and employees, we had to completely overhaul our process and start from scratch. Because of all our new virus-related protocols and processes, we were very blessed to keep every single one of our employees healthy. We understand this did delay our roasting and shipping scheduled but it was necessary to protect everyone. I wanted to check in and see if the order got delivered. It shows in our system that it was. If there are any questions or concerns please contact out customer service team at service@hatch-green-chile.com Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

So far I have nothing to report as I have not received my order. I placed it in August I believe. If you can find out what’s up with it I’d appreciate it.

Very dissatisfied. Too mild. Seeds and skin everywhere. Will never buy from them again without refund or free replacement order. Discourage others.

Hi Joel, so sorry to hear that you weren't happy with your order! We do have warnings on our site that our chile is running a little on the milder side this year, and will indeed contain seeds and small bits of peel as we are not able to process by hand like usual this season. Thanks, The Hatch Chile Store

I pre-ordered my chilis in August. By end of Sept. I was notified they would be shipped out mid Oct, but if I wasn't going to home to receive the frozen chiles I should notify them. I did so and was told the order would be shipped upon my return, Oct. 22. By Oct. 29 I still didn't get anything. I contacted them and was told they would be shipped the week of Nov. 9. Here it is Nov. 12 and still no notice of my order being shipped. I am very disappointed with the service I am receiving.

I order fresh peppers from this company every year. Even with the inflated prices, I have always been satisfied. This year, I decided to also order frozen peppers. My fresh peppers had quite a bit of waste due to rot. I figured, based on my previous experience, that this was an anomaly and did not bother to contact the store. The first batch of "frozen" peppers arrived unfrozen, so I ordered another batch. I was told (via email) that that due to shipping delays related to Covid, this is a known issue, and if the thawed peppers are cold to the touch, they are safe. I discarded the $75 worth of peppers as I wasn't willing to incur the risk. Shame on me for the second order.

We will NEVER order from this company again. Many Chiles came damaged, spoiled and unsalvageable. My concerns were refused and I wasted my money especially paying so much for shipping to Hawaii.
