I order my Chile a long time ago and 2 days later sent an email to deliver it the 1st week of September because I would not be home until then. Last night I arrived home early to find my delivery on the porch. It had been there for almost 2 weeks. The Chile all schrivelled and mushy. I am very disappointed. I hope you can fix this problem. Thank you.

Hi Joe, I don't have any communication from you requesting that we hold the order. Could you forward the email you mentioned sending to preston@hatch-green-chile.com for me to take a look at? Since we hadn't received a request to hold the order, we shipped as soon as the product was ready. We also sent a tracking number and shipment information to the email address you left with us when you placed the order. Had you called us to let us know you couldn't receive that shipment, we would have promptly pulled it from the packing line. I'm so sorry that this was a frustrating experience. If you can forward me the email from back in June, I'd be happy to send you a new shipment.

The medium-hot is more like a mild to someone who actually lives in New Mexico. We wern't overlly thrilled. It does have decent flavor, just not a medium-hot that we are used to.

Product quality good but I did not realize they came chopped and seeded already. To chop and de seed a pain in the neck. Should be a little more clear you can order them this way.

Hi Martin! We offer whole or chopped for all of our chile varieties. You have the option of selecting what you want before adding the item to your cart. Hope this helps!

I ordered medium to hot chilies and most of them were very mild. I am waiting on a replacement shipment of hot.

Chile has good taste/flavor, right amount of 'hotness'.

My daughter liked the chili, but I was disappointed at the 10 days it took to arrive. Your website said it would arrive in two days from order was placed.

When I placed my order, I received an email acknowledging your receipt of my order but not a targeted shipping date. It took me longer than a week to realize that I hadn't actually received a shipping notice on the peppers, which concerned me. When I called to ask about my peppers, I was told that you were three weeks behind due to harvest conditions. This didn't bother me in the least; this is certainly understandable. What DID bother me was that, upon your receipt of my order you didn't TELL ME that my peppers would arrive three weeks later than I expected. In addition, the person who picked up my call, was defensive about this oversight, which was very uncomfortable, not encouraging, and certainly not friendly. She did say that she would inform the owners about this, which she apparently did, because my peppers were shipped the next day. I am happy about my peppers; they are good and they arrived in good condition. I don't know that I would order again due to the overall experience however.

Was trilled to finally get my box. However, there were a couple of roasted peppers that made a few of the fresh ones go bad. But as for the rest... yummmm!! Thank you.

Hi Vicky, There were not roasted peppers in your box of fresh green chile. At our packaging facility there is not any chile that is roasted. You may have received a few pods that had spoiled in transit. Thank you, Taylor

I received my chile, but I got a lot of small chile and 1/4 of the chile was already turning red. So I wasn't very happy about that. Thank you anyway for sending it to me.

Hi! Anytime you're unhappy with the quality you receive, please email pictures immediately to support@hatch-green-chile.com and we'll evaluate whether it qualifies for our re-ship guarantee. That being said, since you opted for ground shipping, significant spoilage or ripening to red should be expected. We do have a warning in bold red text at the top of our checkout page indicating that if you opt for ground shipping at checkout, you bear the risk of in-transit loss and should expect significant spoilage. In the future, I'd highly recommend you opt for 2-Day Air on all shipments of fresh chile.

I had ordered a box of Sandia for a friend and the wrong peppers were shipped. It took several days to get the order sorted out. I thought it was inappropriate to charge for shipping when the company packed and shipped the wrong item on the original order. My friend is happy with now having received the correct order.

Jerry, Seeing as you received a replacement box for free, we don't feel that refunding the shipping would be in order. You ordered one product and received two, both delivered via the shipping method you paid for. We hope your friend is enjoying the chile! Best, The Hatch Chile Store

I have to say, I was not satisfied. I left a message with my order explaining that I needed the peppers fast. I never got any personal feedback on the order, just the generic "your peppers are on the way" email. After waiting two weeks without a response, I emailed Hatch, to ask about my order. I got a reply saying the peppers I wanted won't be ready for harvest by the time required and was recommended to change to Big Jim's if I want them shipped now. I called to switch my order on a Monday, the lady was very nice and helpful, and said my order will be on the next truck, and was to expect my peppers by Friday of that week, they did not arrive. I called again the following Monday to see what happened. Again, the lady was very nice and helpful, but sadly told me, that my order never shipped. She said she would expedite the order, I told her the window of opportunity had passed, and that I would like a refund. She granted my refund with no questions asked. So, because the customer service was good, I still gave you a decent rating, but unfortunately my order was bobbled from the start. Had I been called right after the original order to change my order due to my selection not being ready for harvest, the timeline may have worked out. Instead, I bought a 25lb case for a fraction of the cost from my local grocer, and was very happy. Sorry, but I don't think I'll ordering from The Hatch Chile Store again.

Hi Ian, We ship a lot of boxes with the USPS and occasionally boxes do "disappear" in the mailstream. We replace any shipments which are not delivered with fresh chile any time this happens. I'm sorry that you did not notice the "PRE-ORDER" designation when you placed your order but fresh chile is only available seasonally. Thanks, Preston

Was not happy with price. 5 lbs. of chile for $35.00 is an exhorbitant price. Will not order from you again.

Hello, I'm glad you asked, I just havent had time to reach out. We got our chile delivered to Rifle ,Co. when I opened the box the first few layers were beautiful then I seen a few meaning 8 whole chiles were mushy ornnot up to the standered I first pulled out once again beautiful chiles. I'm not sure if this is due to shipping? Anyhow we seperated them out and continued with our day of aroma therapy roasting green chiles in the middle ofnthe mountains! Cheers, Michelle A. Quick

I enjoy the flavor of Hatch Chile, but my order came with about 10% of the chiles rotted. I contacted customer service and they sent back a reply that for fresh vegetables that was very good. Well I spent 30 years at my job and being right 90% of the time would have resulted in me looking for a new job. Maybe my standards are too high but 10% spoilage is not what I expected

Mark, It is always to be expected that a couple of pods will go bad in-transit when shipping chile. Anything over 10% is covered as "significant spoilage" by our shipping guarantee. The guarantee is available for you to read on the website and governs how we handle in-transit spoilage. Unlike most professions, when dealing with fresh produce shelf life and spoilage is always something that affects things. There isn't a specific thing you can do to alleviate the problem other than to offer a quality guarantee (which we do at 10% spoilage). I looked at the exchange you had with Mike and 3 pods in a 5lb box is less than 10% spoilage. If you'd like to ensure that 100% of your order arrives in perfect condition, you are always welcome to opt for expedited shipping at checkout. Overnight is pricey though and typically not worth the additional cost if you only lost 3 pods in the whole box ;-)
