“I hate to be negative since I have loved everything else I have purchased from you. I was very pleased with the speed of the delivery and the freshness of the chiles. However I was very disappointed with the size and especailly the lack of meat on the peppers. In 25 pounds of peppers I only had 5 chiles which were thick enough to make rellenos and another 20 -25 that I can patch 2 or 3 together with toothpicks to make rellenos. Most of the chiles were very thin with thin skin and almost no thickness. I have been roasting and peeling chiles for over 30 years so I was able to peel them, even the ones that were smaller than the serranos I grow. But most of I can only use in strips or chopped up and frozen for soups, casseroles and salsas. My plan to have friends over for a chile relleno dinner had to be canceled. So I am not recommending that friends buy the fresh chiles from your store. The chiles I bought in stores in Tucson were always a mix but I was able to select the ones I wanted and there were many thick peppers to select from. I now live in Iowa and last year was the first time I found fresh Hatch chiles in the local grocery store. The Hatch chiles I bought last year from my local Fareway grocery store were large and meaty. I liked them so much the store ordered an added 20 pounds for me. This year I ordered from you enpecting the same quality but hoping for more freshness. I don't want to give up buying from you, but don't want to spend extra hours trying to peeling such poor quality peppers. Is there a better time for me to order from you like early season or later in the season? Do you have an option of buying only larger/thicker chiles. I would pay more to that quality if it were available.”

“Placing the advanced order in January was nice. The next contact regarding my order came at harvest time informing me of anticipated receipt date. However, I received email solicitations daily, sometimes multiple times in one day. I have now blocked messages from the hatch chile store. The chile is delicious but peppers are small.”

“It was late but I believe it was ups issue anyway. You offered to send a replacement shipment I declined due to the fact that I was going to roast them anyway. They were wrinkled but worked out fine.”

“I have ordered 3 times this year, the second shipment was late and a lot of chilis were not eatable, but you guys send me an email telling me that a new shipment was being send to me at no cost. If and when I receive this free shipment I will rate you with 5 stars and recommend you to anyone.”

“First thing, your chilies are awesome, but the price is just too expensive. I compared what i spent through your store and at $30 plus dollars for 5lbs compared to $1.99 a pound for 5lbs at my local grocery store for Hatches chilies I could have saved $20 plus dollars for the same product.”

“Mixed results. I had three orders. The one to my mom was perfect no problems. The second I received at my home and the whole batch was spoiled. I notified them within one hour of arrival. They said they would send a replacement which I never received. The third batch was suppose to be extra hot they were more like medium to hot. I’m just sad because I look forward to roasting and packaging them every year.”

“I made an preorder for extra hot chile and paid exrta for fast delivery but it took alittle bit longer so alot of the chile wilted. but I got an E-Mail letting know about the shipping problem and said they would make it right by sending me a box to make it right. That is fine with me.”

“Your onions are super delicious but half my onions fell out in shipping. UPS tried to tape the box back up but did a very poor job in doing so. I think the Hatch Chile Store should use stronger boxes for shipping. I contacted Customer Service immediately and will be sending me another box which your staff is top notch. Thank you.”
