Received my order however fresh chiles were a bit wilted from heat in shipping. Order not sent from hatch so not sure how fresh my chile order was.

Cecelia, your order was, in fact, sent from Hatch as outlined in the email we sent you. Albuquerque is the UPS hub which all shipments from NM pass through.

My experience with my order of Sandia chili's from The Hatch Store is with some concern. My order arrived about 10 days after I ordered. However once they arrived, I immediatly opened the box only to find a handful of chili's that were dry rotted and a few even damaged (torn/split.) The remainder of my $51.00 order for 10 lbs. was peppers that after roasting them, they really seem somewhat mild. Not near the Xtra Hot that was advertised for Sandia chili's. I used to live in Albuquerque, so I know my green chili peppers. Somewhat of a let down, but I didn't want to take the time or effort to do any kind of return with them.

Hi Daniel, Our Sandia is advertised as Hot, not X-Hot and it appears that you did not opt for the recommended 2-Day Air shipping at checkout. As such your order is not covered by our shipping guarantee as outlined here: https://www.hatch-green-chile.com/shipping-guarantee/ That being said, I'm going to have a 5lb box shipped to you 2-Day in order to show you the difference in quality that you'll receive when you follow our shipping instructions. I think you'll be pleased and will be a lifelong customer once you see the difference. Thanks, Preston

Hi Gloria, Did you call in about the issue? We re-ship chile when people have issues with our shipments. I'll slate your order to be re-shipped the first week of September when our next field of Big Jim is ready to harvest. Thanks, Preston

Unfortunately, we had to discard about 1 lb. due to starting to go bad. Perhaps there's a better way to ship them? Otherwise, we love them!

Mary, Any time you have spoilage, please reach out to us as we guarantee our shipments. I'll slate your box to be re-shipped when our next field of Big Jim comes off. Thanks, Preston

I didn't realize it would take so long to receive. Also when I did receive them 1/2 Were bad. But it was a nice taste of home when I did get them. Thank you.

My order arrived thawed and the inner box was wet from condensation. It seems my order shipped on a Thursday but did not arrive in a very warm Alabama until Monday afternoon. I reached out to “The Hatch Chile Store” and was told as long as the chilies were still cold they could be refrozen and would be fine to eat. I put them in the freezer but have not had a chance to use them in a dish, thus I’ve not yet verified they are still good.

Michael, That is not an appropriate response. We'll be re-shipping your order. Please email me with details as to who you spoke with on our support team. Thanks, Preston

The ones that survived tasted great! I ordered 25 lbs. of chilies and had to throw away 6lbs of them because they rotted and turned into liquid before they got to me. Ultimately, I ended up spending over $3 per lb. for the chilies I was able to use...not sure I'll be using this company again.

I ordered last year and they were outstanding. Received the same type chiles, Friday. I ordered them 2 day air. At least 5 lbs were rotten. We were home when UPS delivered and the one box, well you can guess the smell from rotting produce. Chiles were much smaller and did not appear to be fresh, but what you would find at the store after being on the shelf awhile. Not sure what happened. We stayed up Friday night roasting and freezing the remainder of our order. We ordered 50 lbs. of mild.

We've had a lot of rain this year which encourages spoilage. Anytime you have spoilage, please document it with a few pictures and contact us promptly so that we can evaluate a re-ship. Send an email to support@hatch-green-chile.com and someone will get the 5lbs that you lost replaced. Thanks, Preston

Toooooo Expensive for what we got!

Mark, It looks like you ordered 2 5lb boxes for some reason, rather than a less expensive 10lb box. We also offer free shipping on 10lb boxes. As such you could have paid $30 less than you did and received the same amount of product. That being said, can you comment on the actual quality of what you received? We believe we produce an outstanding product which deserves a fair review of its quality.

Green Chile from Hatch New Mexico is great! But, the chile ordered was WAY to EXPENSIVE... A N D ... when weighed... the green chile was a bit under weight - for the price and exorbitant shipping cost - unacceptable. And all of the packages ordered, 1 Mild, 1 Medium, and 1 Medium/Hot - they were all a mixture from mild to hot.

First of all, I love the. Chili! I am on the automatic delivery every 3 months. The first time I was supposed to receive some chili it didn't come. So after a month or so, I called. The person checked and told me someone forgot to check the box for me to have automatic delivery. The chili was sent. Then 3 months later, again no chili. I waited another month and called. The person apologized and said they ran short of the type of chili I wanted and asked if I would be ok with peeled chili. I said sure and the chili was sent. This system needs some tweaking? Otherwise the chili is wonderful!

Love the ability to get hatch chilies in the Midwest! Just use some lead time. I ordered my Chilies on the 12th, paid for 2 day delivery and received them on the 21st? Too late for the birthday party. I'll just prepare for the delay on next years order.

Placed order on a Wednesday. Order was not processed until Monday and would not be delivered until Thursday. We had to return the order because we did not receive it in 36 hours as mentioned on website. Process not clearly defined on web-site.

Tom, we clearly advertise on the site that we only ship early in the week. Orders placed on Wednesday do not ship till the following week. Ground shipping of selected at checkout can take up to 72 hours to arrive. All of this is standard. I'm not sure where the 36 hour number you've referenced comes from. Please shoot us an email at support@hatch-green-chile.com of you'd like to discuss.

Didn't. The 15% advertised is for chile picked out of the field and sent to the customer only. The email I received did not specify that. I was a little disappointed. Also, paid 6 months in advance and not too crazy about that either. My money is tied up for 6 months without receiving the product. Don't think that is a good policy. I have ordered under the other owners and was always satisfied the way they did business. Sorry but not real happy as a return customer with the way this was handled........Frank

Francis, The 15% discount is, and has always been advertised, for "fresh" hatch green chile not for roasted. We are not under new ownership either so I'm sorry if there is some sort of confusion there. If you do not want to pre-order, you are welcome to have us refund your money and place another order when the season starts for our frozen chile, or have us ship your order now. Thanks, Preston

Having the ability to ship to Canada whould greatly enhance your bottom line. Also, not able to ship to a PO Box, c'mon. If either of those options were available to us, we would be adoring fans. Sadly, we are not, only because of shipping issues. The taste of the chili, remarkably delicious.

Rick, We DO ship to Canada and CAN ship to PO boxes but only on small packages. USPS shipping is just to expensive to offer on our larger boxes as UPS comes in roughly 45% cheaper. Thanks, Preston

While the Hatch Chilies are [5 star] wonderful, I was disappointed that you sell the (Gringo) chili containing [0 stars]CARAGEENAN. This ingredient is a stomach cancer catalyst. No food should contain this NOR calcium chloride. So the actual frozen Hatch Chili peppers are great, but the Gringo jarred chilis are awful.
