“Have not really started making any recipes yet, but plan to. I think next time I will order whole instead of chopped. The delivery went well. Everything arrived sooner than expected. I have a lot 10 pounds to use, but will order again. The cost is high but Pay Pal was a helpful option.”

Hello Rick, We only use chile grown in the heart of the Hatch Valley to hand make our rellenos and tamales right here in Southern New Mexico. They arrive on your doorstep in 100% recyclable packaging frozen solid. All of our Tamales, Rellenos, and Roasted Chile are shipped for free anywhere in the lower 48 states. I would like to point out it is extremely expensive to ship a frozen product with dry ice. I also want to make sure you know about our buy more save more discounts! When you purchase 2 packages of rellenos/tamales/roasted chile you receive a 20% discount, if you purchase 3+ packages of rellenos/tamales/roasted chile you receive a 30% discount. “Very please with the product and the company. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the cleaning of the chilis was a bit less than I anticipated. The website stated that they would be cleaned and peeled less than normal but I thought it would be a bit better. I ordered chopped chili and determined that was a big mistake since peeling little bits of chili took an extremely long time. I also wish I would not have ordered so much. I really am not sure if I want to spend the time on the remaining 8 pounds! LOL. The quality of the chili is fantastic though. Shipping was spot on. I highly recommend this store. I would wait however to order any chopped chili's until the covid restrictions are gone.”

Hello Russell, We do apologize for this inconvenience and understand the frustration. Covid-19 did put a damper on this past year's production with new regulations we had to follow. We had to transition from Roasting, Peeling, and Packaging by hand to a machine that did not allow us to perform at our normal measures. “I am very supportive of your product, send it to family members as gifts, etc. My only frustration is when I go to order and you don't have enough product available. I hope you can rectify this issue. When I can't get what I need I have to go somewhere else!!”

“The Hatch Chile ws a gift for someone else so I don't know how it tasted. I am not impressed with the tracking of this gift. On the order form it tells me I will receive a text and email notice of it's delivery. I don't know when or IF it arrived yet without calling the recipient. So, I love the products but not the tracking procedure.”

“We ordered mild, medium, and hot chiles. We make green chili regularly and wanted to make the pepper portion less labor intensive. We were happy with the result. We thought the medium chilis were plenty hot!”

“I bought chile for myself and for several family members. The orders were shipped to as near as Santa Fe, and as far away as Washington DC and New Orleans. Of the 5 orders, all arrived in a timely manner and there were no chiles lost as all were in excellent condition, even towards the end of the season, when you're more likely to find some that are softening. Everyone was thrilled with their chiles. I will order from The Hatch Chile Store every year from now on. The chile itself and transport I would give 5 stars. The only reason I rated the store a 4 instead of a 5 is the struggle with account names and numbers. A little work to make the internet account system a little more user friendly would mean they rate 5 stars all across the board.”

“Love the products! I recently bought chile rellenos and tamales for New Year's dinner and they were terrific. They were shipped frozen with dry ice and were still frozen upon arrival. I also bought a couple of jars of sauce... and they were sent USPS, and the box was lost in the Christmas rush. It took seven weeks to arrive! Not the fault of Hatch Chile Store, but it might pay to pay for premium shipping next time.”

“Well, it wasn’t all that bad, however not what I expected. First I ordered hot and extra hot. The hot was mild and not much taste. The extra hot was not as hot as I expected. Like I said it wasn’t all that bad but I think you guys could do better. I think I will try the hot sauces next time instead of the chopped kind.”

“The chili had the NM flavor but not fresh last season taste. I could be wrong but the older the chili the darker it gets and loses peak flavor along with the bright red color. Was dark in color. Love NM hatch chili. I’m just picky. Would order again from you.”

Hello Gracie! We are sorry about the confusion surrounding your order but hopefully clarify somethings! Yes, as red chile ages, it does become darker in color but rest assured, the chile you received was from this season. So what we think happened here is it is just a crop from a different season and that is why it had a different taste. Granted, this season was a bit up and down for us so this would also explain the different taste. But still, we appreciate your support and trying out our products. “The product I received is excellent. Communication was fine. Frustrating that my monthly order was dropped due to early winter. I get that happens, but still disappointed. I’m a New Mexican living in GA. What am I to do. Buying a deep freeze next season and just playing a crazy large order.”

Enjoying the chopped roasted hatch chilis that I substituted for the whole hatch chilis. Took a little while to finally get my order.”
