Booked a Boston tour 6 months ago and already purchased airfaire. Tour Radar calls yesterday to inform me the tour has been cancelled and that we have to go a month later. No! That does NOT work. Horrible wait time on the phone (30+minutes to even get a human!) I would never book with them. RICK STEVES IS THE BEST

Hello there, We were also very sad to hear your tour had been withdrawn from operation by the tour operator. This is not an experience we want for any of our customers and we understand the disruption this causes to your travel plans. Unfortunately, we have any control over this happening. The decision to withdraw a tour is made by the company operating the tour and usually, due to insufficient participants. We want to assure you as touring experts, that it is a rare occurrence and when it does happen, we are here to support you. We also outline in our written correspondence that we do not recommend you book your flights until your trip is guaranteed to depart, so in the rare case that the trip is withdrawn, you have some more flexibility to find alternatives, which our support team will reach out to assist with. On this occasion, the few alternatives our travel experts offered you, were not suitable for you and so we have processed a full refund as per the operator's terms and conditions at your request. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the call waiting time you experienced today and apologise for your time in the call queue. This is an element of your experience we are constantly working to improve, however, peak times, unfortunately, can occur. There was a good selection of tour options for the area I am planning travel. The booking process was fairly easy and the response time for confirmation was very quick. However, I did find it a bit disconcerting that there was reference to health insurance ‘being required’ and when I went to get a quote was told there was nothing available in Ontario. I do have personal coverage so that part is not a concern. Once I received confirmation it was a bit confusing whether I was talking to someone from TourRadar when I asked a question, or the tour company Europemonda. They were quick to sort it out for me though. All in all, it was an easy process and the prices were quite reasonable.

While we strongly recommend all travellers are covered by travel insurance while they are abroad, the requirements for this insurance varies from one tour to the next, as outlined by the tour operators. We're happy to hear your existing coverage meets the minimum requirements for your tour however still recommend you are covered for things like theft, delayed flights, emergencies etc; which a good travel insurance policy will cover you for. I was disappointed to learn that TourRadar does not provide assistance with obtaining a Russian Visa. I'm on my own for that. Sad

Regarding Visa advice, we recommend our travellers contact their local embassies for the most up to date information about Visas required in these countries. As a tour booking website, TourRadar cannot be an effective and accurate visa authority as this information is regularly being updated and varies for the nationality of one traveller to the next. It is for this reason that we recommend checking your local embassy or consulate's website for the latest up to date information. We'll happily provide you with the trip notes for this tour which may contain some guidance regarding Visa requirements for some nationalities, but in most cases, Visas will remain the responsibility of the individual traveller.
