“Unfortunately the restaurant did not have enough space for our bags so they were left out in the hallway for everyone to see and have access to. It wasn’t in a storage room and did not feel secure at all. Also no anti tamper tabs we’re offered either. I did enjoy the ease of the whole process but would have felt more secure if my bags were in a room away from the public eye.”

“The service was fine but I think it's a little greasy to charge per item even when the two items are small. If one item can sit on top of the other (like a shopping bag or small box) and both items together are smaller than a full-size suitcase, you might consider being a little more flexible. Rent in NY is about space, and the charge per item rule comes off as an unjustifiable hustle.”

“Pretty good. Easy service to use and really helpful for letting us get on and use our day to explore new York. Downside was having to carry our bags up and down some pretty narrow stairs and service wasn't overly friendly. Otherwise all good.”

“The service and booking was very convenient, but I was disappointed that they never put any tags on our bags and I never got a bag check receipt. After realizing I never got a receipt, I called the bag check location and they assured me that I didn’t need one because they didn’t have many bags checked. But then when I went to get my bags, low and behold they brought out someone else’s bags, after they only asked me for a physical description of our bags. This is very unprofessional and not secure.”

“I thought there would be a better system or lockers or something. We showed up and it was like a pawn shop or cell store and they don’t give you a tag or anything noting what you’re leaving. You take a blind leap of faith. Luckily all our stuff was there when we got back. Felt sketch.”

“It was difficult to find the bus stop. The bus stop map should be described in ditail. The driver is not kind for customer.”

“I didn’t feel like my bags were secure/safe, they are supposed to used the zip ties to tie the zippers correct? But no they just tied the handles.”

“Things were locked up in the back but the shop was a full store that was a mess. The owner was nice.”

“The Vertoe location was very easy to select . The process in itself was simple . The vendor allowing Vertoe to use their location was the issue . The vendor’s location was not in a good safe area and we did not feel comfortable storing our luggage there after the first day . Lots of crime in area . We did not use our second paid storage day .”

“A great concept however we didn’t receive an email as indicated, only a text confirmation which wasn’t satisfactory for the storage location. Beyond this first challenge, it was easy enough to drop off our luggage, placing numbered lock tags o our bags, provided by the storage location. Picking up luggage 2 hours later was a different story. The woman didnt remember us (family of 5 from Australia which we shared with her) and asked us to produce a photo of the number from the lock tags on our bags. We weren’t advised by her to do this at check in. She was not going to to give us our bags. We needed to be insistent to get them back for a waiting driver taking us to the airport. Now that we know how this system works, we hope for a better experience in other US cities.”

“Booking was very easy and rapid. All was very clear. But the place where my luggages were stocked was not secure at all.”

“The location is not bad. As described, it is in the working distance from the convention center. However, when I visited there for drop my luggage, they did not give any tag (or anything) to indicate that the luggage is who's bag. I could find my luggage without any problem, but I was a little bit worried.”

“Ok. They stored the bags safely, as expected. When we got there, a man took our bags immediately. When we came back, the man was gone and we were forced to wait 7 minutes while the other employees did their “real jobs” before getting our bags. Thankfully we were not in a rush at that point, or it would have been a real problem.”

“We were disappointed that our bags were left in the shop rather than put into a secure store room. The staff seemed pretty unfriendly. Thats said we had a good response from Vertoe when we told them about our concerns. Happy to give the site another try in the future but would not use that particular shop again.”

“We had no issues, however the store never looked at my ID or confirmed my reservation. We also did not have to provide any identification to pick up our bags either. It was a little strange.”

“I was very happy to discover this service but can only recommend it with reservation. Our luggage was stored in an unlocked room and we were not asked for ID when we returned to collect it. As far as I could tell, everyone staying at this co-living space had access to the stored luggage. The staff at this location was friendly and the service is certainly convenient, but basic safeguards need to be employed.”

“The cost was very reasonable. The service was friendly. My only issue was it took so long to find where I was supposed to drop off my stuff. The storage place was not on Google Maps and when I was in the same building, no one new what I was referring to.”
