I ordered a bed & mattress for home delivery. I chose 2 different time slots as they can't deliver together. The first delivery was through YODEL time slot 7am-8pm. I received a text from YODEL mid morning on the day, with tracking details, confirming, although Argos had said I would be called with a 2 hour slot. At 8 15pm I received a text saying the item would be delivered the next day at a time when I wouldn't be at home, with no explanation or apology. I then checked the time of the 2nd delivery for the following day re the tracking facility. Although I had booked a 7-12 morning slot & had this confirmed by email, the time had been changed to the PM slot without agreement or notice. The Argos contact no. is premium rate from a mobile which is very expensive. I had no option but to call this no. the following morning. IT GETS WORSE! Argos confirmed that the YODEL drivers had arrived at the destination to deliver at 2 30pm on the correct day. They had 2 contact nos. for me or they could have called Argos if they had any problems. So they were actually outside the property which is a large well signposted block of flats with the mattress on the van. When you put the postcode into Google & click on maps (without the rest of the address details) it brings up exactly the right location. However they returned to the depot without delivering. They did inform Argos of this but nobody bothered to let me know. DO NOT trust Argos with any deliveries. We wasted a day & a half for 2 deliveries that were booked in by them & confirmed by email, with their own delivery service & a 3rd party driver, neither of which they were able to honour. When I asked for some compensation for this mess & taking 1 1/2 days off work they offered Free delivery That equals £8.95 on a £330 order. Laughable I spoke to a manager & cancelled both orders & was finally reluctantly offered £25 in vouchers after a lot of persistence. Unbelievable shambles, they need to address their systems urgently

Do not buy a watch from Argos Please be wary of buying a watch from Argos. They provide nowhere near the level of service a jeweller would. My wife bought a Rotary ladies watch for €139.99 from the Dundrum, Ireland branch of Argos yesterday, 7th August 2015. She liked everything about the watch and was told by the assistant that the metal chain link strap could be adjusted to fit her wrist there & then in the store. At no point was it mentioned that the strap might not fit or be suitable for her wrist. So, she purchased the watch, received her receipt and the supervisor came out and removed the links to fit it. She did mention that once the links were removed the 30 day refund policy was void as they now deemed it a 2nd hand item, but at this point the watch had been purchased. Unfortunately no matter how many links were removed or popped back in the strap was either extremely tight or extremely loose on my wife's wrist, so completly unwearable. The supervisor stood her ground and said that they could not issue any refund even though in our eyes the watch was not fit for use. This was a shock to us as surely the idea of a watch is that it fits you comfortably and functions correctly. If we had gone to a jeweller I have no doubt they would either have advised us that the strap was probably not suitable for my wife's wrist, or at least tried to remove links to see if suitable before selling the watch. They would not and could not have sold a watch that did not fit. We have contacted Argos Customer Service in the UK and they are adamant that - even though, in our eyes, the watch is perfectly resellable, they just popped a couple of links out - they deemed it 2nd hand and not covered by their returns policy. Nowhere in the catalogue, online, in store or it seems via a sales assistant does it point this fact out about watch straps that might not fit & that you have no come back if you buy the watch and take the 50/50 chance you hope it will fit and if it doesn't, you are scuppered. To my mind this is deceitful selling, an unreasonable returns policy and incredibly bad customer service from the sales agents and supervisors of Argos both in Ireland & the UK. I reiterate, if we had gone to a jewellers we would have got a watch that was correctly fitted, this is fundamental to owning a watch. I am not sure if we have a case under the Fair Trading Act but I believe we should do and am going to pursue it. Argos are part of the Home Retail Group. Their Chairman is Oliver Stocken and I also intend to write to him about this, I'm sure he'll never see the letter but ultimately he is responsible for this. So, please avoid Argos like the plague if you are looking to buy a watch. Once you part with your money in Argos they do not want to know you and do not provide helpful customer service.

Portsmouth Argos store staff making completely inappropriate conversation at the desk then the guy serving me completely blanked me left item and bag in front of me because a footballer walked past and he wanted an autograph! I was left to it! No receipt given, too busy getting autograph! Atrocious customer service and absolutely rude. Never going into that store again.

My item was on van, but due to driver being late, I had to rearrange delivery as I couldn't wait another hour. Waited for call, and waited and waited. Eventually I contacted them and they said it had been delivered, could it have been left at a neighbours. A FRIDGE FREEZER? What neighbour would be prepared to carry it round for me. Mysteriously, it had disappeared, only the driver will know where it went. Now it is out of stock, so they refunded me. What a total waste of time. Said they hadn't been able to contact me, which is rubbish. I had not one missed call from them.

Ordered a washer, was advised 5 days for delivery called on the 5th day and was advised if I had not had a call I was not getting it no apology or anything also had to wait 20 + mins for them to answer tried to rings them twice since both really long call ques, so have in called at different times too. Was let down 18 months previously too by them again with a washer ( I ended up buying a second hand one to put me on for delivery asap) had to wait for over a week for them to deliver the wrong one ( wrong colour basic spec compared to what I ordered) would not offer a replacement and was told over2 weeks for delivery. The worst customer service and overall experience I have ever had with a retailer. Would advice everyone to steer clear of Argos unless they want to take the risk of months of stress and being left having overpayed. Seriously, avoid!

This companies customer service for home delivery is a joke. I ordered a rattan patio set and was assured twice and received a confirmation text that delivery was to be between 12pm - 6pm on Friday, Thursday pm I was advised that delivery would be Monday. I had booked Friday pm off from work and couldn't get Monday pm off so my partner booked a half day off to be advised on Friday this would now be Tuesday, i made a complaint and was advised a manager cools only ring me back. It's now Monday pm and still waiting for my call!! Don't deal with this company useless is an understatement.

on 28 June I purchased. Samsung black fridge and was given delivery date of 15 July and time of 10- 2.00 pm which was great. few days later phone call from Argos leaving a message to say this had changed to July 21 with a time of O7.00 - 12-00 which was not at all suitable. I telephoned Argos several times over the next few day to amend this delivery time. Well what a wastes of time and money my calls were never answered. So I took to email to complained, I received a automatic reply stating I would be contacted after 48 hours with a message advising if I had difficulties to contact them on their customer service Number, which was the one I had not received a reply. Yesterday morning Argos telephone me I was very pleased, but NO they were telephone to say my fridge would not be deilivered 21 July but nearer the end of August. What rubbish their customer service is. I needed to buy a new fridge now not in late August so asked for my money back and a refund for my call charges, which they have agreed to do. They also advised that they had over sold this item as it was a good price, If you need it ,get it from another supplier good price is not always the answer!!! MD Wiltshire

Ordered a new washing machine on-line. I phoned up 3 days later to be told that order did not exist. I had a confirmation email order number and authorisation number for payment. Got passed from one department to another but felt that no one wanted to take ownership. Very unhelpful so won't be using this service again.

Hello Argos, I would like to inform you about an awful experience I have had with your online service. Firstly we were recommended by an assistant (Rosella White) from your online site that your *Leader Lifestyle Duke Fabric Futon Sofa Bed - Black* is suitable for two adults to sleep in on a regular basis, within days of receiving your bed we were quite sure it was not, it would probably be best suited for the occasional guest to sleep in. This is not the worst of the experience to be honest your customer service ensured us we could send the bed back with a full refund in a few days and we would not be sending this message if it wasn't for the following events. The worst part of your service is not actually on you guys per-say its actually from: http://www.xdp.co.uk/express/ XDP Express. The service I got from this company that you use for logistics was unacceptable and inconsiderate. This was apparent from the delivery of the bed, the delivery man which should of been a two man team was only one. Not only this but he was rude, insisted that he was busy with other deliveries when asked if he could help my boyfriend carry the bed to the desired room and couldn't leave fast enough. Today XDP Express arrived to collect the bed, we were told by your customer service that the bed could be taken with ease and packaging was not an issue, this was not the case. Today I took a day off work for this return and I was on my own, the delivery man looked at my bed and told me that it should have packaging. I actually had the packaging in my garage still and tried to explain this to the delivery man and would help him to package the bed, which would've taken a maximum of five minuets. Again he was very quick to leave, produced any excuse to even consider what I had to say telling me 'I have no packaging tape, I will be back on Monday' as he turned his backed to me and left without any regard for what I had to say. This kind service is infuriating and disgraceful and really drags down the reputation of your company, XDP should not be representing Argos at all. I will not be able to be at home on Monday I need to work, what I am supposed to do now? Not only this what if I was an older customer unable to physically package or manoeuvre the item I've bought? I have no problem with Argos and I would still considered buying products from your stores but never again will I use your online service if you are still associated with XDP Express.

My partner recently bought us a cooker, we had it delivered about 3 days after paying for it in store. As me or my partner do not know anything about changing electric appliances, I asked my father to take out my old cooker and replace it with the new one, he had to do this after being in work for 12 hours. When my father put the cooker in we noticed the cooker door was very lopsided and the one side was hanging well over the body of the cooker, the door is glass so the part which was hanging over the side is sharp so this could of ended up causing a accident as we have 2 young children! I rang customer services and told them we was very unsatisfied with the item, they arranged for an engineer to call out and fix the cooker. The engineer took a week to come out when he did he told me there was nothing he could do we would need a new door so we had to wait a further week, the engineer replaced the door but it looked exactly the same so he told me I would need a new cooker. The engineer also said the cooker should never of been sent out in that state as it was the worst one he had ever seen. After waiting a few days to hear off Argos I rang them to see what was happening I spoke to a very rude and ignorant member of staff who was very unhelpful and was even sniggering when I was trying to explain how much hassle this had caused my family! I explained that I was unable to get someone to take the old cooker out and replace it as we had already done this once and the problem wasn't our fault she basically said there was nothing they could do! They never offered to put the cooker in or offer us a voucher or anything as a good will gesture. I am still waiting for the replacement, it has been a further 2 weeks since the phone call! I will never purchase anything from Argos again, their staff are rude and ignorant and they never want to give a refund even when it is their fault for sending out faulty goods! I am considering going to citizens advice as this is not the first time Argos has given me extremely bad service if I could give no stars I would.
