I bought a Tefal Steam Iron on 2nd June. When I got home, I noticed it was an old iron, put into the box. I had just bought someone else's old iron. There were tell-tale signs of previous use. The water tank had drops of water inside and there was a scuff on the sole plate. Also, part of the polystyrene packaging had been damaged, obviously someone bought this iron before and returned it. ......Argos then sold me the same iron, thinking it was new, but clearly it wasn't. I returned to the store to get an exchange. I explained to a sales assistant about this, however, she immediately insinuated it was my old iron. She then said she needed to speak to her manager. Eleonora, the so-called manager told me they were not going to give me a replacement as she checked the stock and said an iron like that had never been returned, therefore, simply dismissed my claim. I mentioned, this is unfair and told her I was unhappy about how she was speaking, in suggesting it was my old iron and I was trying to fraudulently return it for a replacement. I kept standing my ground as I could not believe what was happening. In response, Eleonora gave me the number for customer services and suggested I speak to them for an exchange.. I phoned Argos Customer Services. They explained, it was the store who makes the decision, which Eleonora would obviously had known beforehand, however, determined to give me a hard time, on the basis she thought it was my old iron. Being dissatisfied with the outcome, I asked the manager Eleonora for the telephone number of an area manager, who may be able to help, but she refused, saying it was confidential. I offered to give my phone number for the area manager to call me. However, Eleonora refused my request. She kept walking away from me whilst I was trying to speak to her. ........Eleonora could not be less helpful! She said, Argos would never have sent an iron out like that in such poor condition. She just wouldn't hear my side from the moment she made up her mind against my explanation. I said I will refuse to leave until the matter is resolved. To this Eleonora said if I don’t leave the store (which was still open) she would call the police. I said, go on then call the police. Eleonora contacted the police. The police came and heard my side of the story. They were very understanding. However, they explained, being a civil matter, they would not step in. The police were duty-bound, they handed me my box containing the iron and escorted me out of the store. Whilst speaking with customer services, they advised me, I could just visit another store and try exchanging it there. Perhaps if I had been dishonest and just said the iron wasn't working properly, they would've just exchanged it. However, after this last visit, unless I get an apology from the store, I shall never set foot in another Argos again. £200 is a lot of money for me to simply lose. I purchased the iron in good faith. I have lost confidence in purchasing from Argos in future. I am very distressed. I am left with someone else’s old iron, which I am using for now, but when I save for a 'new' one, this is going in the bin. Argos Croydon Church Street have been totally unhelpful and unprofessional in dealing with this. I have since been in contact with Argos with my and have raised a complaint via Resolver. Also I have made a similar review on Trustpilot.

Ebay store sold a faulty TV as brand new. TV developed fault within less than five months - Argos Ebay only offered a partial refund. I have reported them to Trading Standards, Ebay and raised a dispute with my credit card. AVOID them is my honest feedback!

Delivery date of 7th June for fridge and washing machine . Message at 7.30 am to say fridge delayed till 11th June and washing machine till 25th June. Totally bad service and Christine on the online chat said the fridge was still due to be delivered on the 7th ( needless to say it did not arrive ) 1 totally wasted day off work ! Now given delivery "slot ???" Of 7am to 6 PM on the 11th and presumably will be the same on 25th !! Despite the argos delivery saying a 4 hour delivery slot not an 11 hour one ! Would I order white goods from argos again ? No !

Good while things are going well, bad company if you have any issues. Customer service is appalling. Have made 11 contacts so far chasing the £10 voucher when you spend over £100. Have been dealing with the issues for over 5 weeks. Every advisor will palm you off, they have system of escalation nor do they have an email address, so you have to keep speaking to the unhelpful assistance over and over again via live chat/Facebook messenger. Ignore promises off good will gestures also as they will never be recieved.

Your company are a disgrace i have an email telling me I have a £10 refund and have been promised it now for 5 weeks it never arrives, I spent £200 with your company and you treat me like Im stupid I will continue to leave feed back on every blogging site Im on and on FB I will never order from your company again you obviously dont want satisfied customers you must be happy with the bad reputation you are getting

Argos asked for review of Rattan Effect Stacking Chair - Dark Grey My review below was rejected "Unfortunately we could not publish your review as it did not meet our guidelines" Risk of Injury I bought 4 of these ,light weight and look good. Ist day some guest came and a very slim guest sat on one of these(No bending,twisting or leaning etc) and this chair broke at leg to chair junction. Luckily person did not fall and although a bit of skin trapped and hurt but no major injury.It could have been worse if somebody a bit heavier was sitting.Packed and returned next day . Still looking for some sturdy plastic chairs. Argos what are you playing at, bought rattan 8 cube garden set, wife cut her finger with sharp edges, table legs would not line up and parts missing, so after a week second set delivered today and guess what , this one faulty aswell rubber missing on glass table top and one of the port holes completely covered by bad welding, I’ve waisted over 5 hours putting the sets together, now you can’t pick this one up until next week, not good enough Argos, after shopping with you for many years I will return this set along with my Argos store card,

bought an item few days ago and its…😭😭😭 I bought an item few days ago and its faulty... I wanted to return but Argos/A gross said they do not have return address... I cannot return it to a stores as I am not currently in the UK. I really DO NOT recommend Argos as its customer service is SH... So I am now stuck with its sh#tty item.😭😭😭

Ordered an Indesit machine through Argos to be delivered within 5 days. 8 days later and hit point messing about without the delivery and cancelling the order I have taken my business to another company with a 48 hour delivery. I have lost a days pay waiting in for hotpoint to deliver. When ordering the machine it did not say it would be delivered direct from manufacturer and not Argos

Absolutely useless as a company. Don't know how to run a customer service department. Or a company for that matter. After a sale of a product, its all about them. Don't buy anything on one of their buy now pay later schemes. Due to argos, I was unable to obtain a mortgage, with a full credit rating and deposit. Due to them not undertaking anything properly and then arguing for 4 months afterwards that they were in the right. Ombudsman contacted!!!

Poor experience - was sold a used Now TV stick as new. Stick had previously been activated by a previous customer who had used up 30 days of a 31 day sky sports pass. Wasted two hours with Now TV support trying to sort out the problem before it became clear what the issue was. Whilst I got a full refund, the compensation I got was derisory (£10) and it took me half an hour to get it. Can't be bothered to pursue them any further apart from not going to Argos again.

terrible service - faulty items returned but not refunded. Contacted Argos many times and spent 2 hours in total on phone and livechat. Staff totally untrained and seems to have no clue what is going on. Argos could not understand why I haven't received payment and promised to investigate. Two weeks later, contacted Argos AGAIN and they still have no idea and AGAIN promised to investigate. Shameful service by Argos.

Absolute disgrace, ordered washer with installation package and two days later was informed they made an error and driver could not fit, asked what they were going to do they said " I surges you get a plumber" absolutely appalling, no customer service what so ever, never use them again

I’m still siting for my relivery.Last night the man I spoke to said it wasn’t. Sent out for delivery although a text message rated it had.He said I’ll get it todaySpke delivery service not recognising my Yodel code saying it doesn’t exist.Spoke to woman before I checked this myself she did it had been dispatched.I’m sorry but f I don’t receive this item today I’ll be making a formal complaint a I don’t think she has been cautious. In checking the yodel tracking a well.Teps likebthis are spoiling it for people like your been Argos rep who I spoke to last night..It’s like some of you don’t care because the item has already been paid for.I also haveother things I need to do which is wasting my timeI can’t drive bit use a wheelchair.Res excuse this morning sad it was because it had been a bank holiday.I don’t believe her.I do actually work as I’m Of this week.

Bought a laptop, not working well. Two weeks outside the 30 day return period, I went to the store to change it. They refused, offering a repair, which would take over 21 days. I called customer services, who confirmed that it was a branch matter and they could not be involved only to mediate they did and the same replies. I was even planning to change it for a more expensive model, they did not want to know. Argos has my low rating.

MANY ARGOS SPECIAL Offers do not infact exist. YOU WASTE TIME CHECKING LOCAL STOCKS, NATIONAL STOCKS AND HOME DELIVERY ALL UNAVAILABLE. Just a con trick to suck you in to buy something else.

Bought a Amazon Echo Dot and took it out of the box. The next day I returned it to store, and tried to exchange it for Google Mini but said it had been used as been placed on a surface and there was a little spec of dust on it.

Argos in Lincoln, terrible customer services. I bought a gazebo yesterday and put it up the same evening but it was way too big for my patio. It was almost big as my whole garden. So decided to get a refund the next day but the two lady staffs one grass stuck on one of its pole. So she told me that I cant get it refunded. I told her that how was I supposed to know that if it way the right size for my patio without putting it up? Then she started telling me all the return policies. But they didn't tell me any of them return policies when I was buying it. I definitely wouldn't have put it up if they had told me the return policies when I was paying for it. So I had to bring this gazebo back to my home which I can never use it and I paid £110 for it. My blood and sweat money gone in vain. When I tried to argue the matter other lady turns up and starts telling me the policies again and she told me that I should listen to her. Basically she was telling me that I should shut up and just listen to her. No politeness or customer handling skills in these two staffs, very unprofessional. They could have talked to me in a polite manner and convinced me in a Proffessional way. Big let down, never buying anything from Argos Lincoln again in my life. I shall pass this message to all my friends and families.
