DO NOT BUY GRUBHUB GIFT CARDS This was possibly the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. I was given 3 GrubHub gift cards after my mother died. I set up a GrubHub account and loaded the gift cards onto the account. When I went to go use them about 10 days later, they had completely disappeared from my account. When I was finally able to speak with someone from customer service (after lots of time spent on hold, having my call dropped and calling back), they said the money had been spend by some guy in a different state. I explained the situation and they said they would investigate and get back to me within 48 hours. I called back 4 days later. Customer service told me that I had been deemed a "policy violator" and they could not speak to me. So, I emailed them explaining the situation. They wrote back that "the matter was deemed resolved" as the cards were spent and I could not respond to the email, but had to call customer service (mind you, this is the same customer service that would not speak to me as a "policy violation") Besides the terrible customer service, there are few things that alarm me and strike me as shady practices. The fact that my account was hacked days after opening it makes me think either it was an inside job or they are issuing the same gift card numbers to multiple people. Shady tactics used by their customer service team included but were not limited to: 1. Putting me on hold until the call is dropped so I never was able to speak with the same person if I was able to speak with a person at all. 2. Everyone I spoke with claimed to be a "shift manager" so I would be appeased that I got to speak with them, but clearly the didn't understand what I was saying. 3. Telling me I would heard back from the investigations department in 48 hours, then never hearing back from them until I called. At that point, I was deemed a "policy violator." So, basically they use circular tactics to avoid dealing with an issue that was likely created internally and hope that if they make it difficult enough you will stop calling them. An added bonus, is dealing with the internal predicament of "do I tell my friends that the nice thing they tried to do for me when my mom died turned out to be aggravating and frustrating and they basically threw their money away?"

I could write an entire book about why you should not give your money to this business...yet. If they get their $#*! together...potentially reconsider. If this post is current, do not...I repeat DO NOT give a dime to this company. For the sake of well, space...I will refrain from large paragraphs. Grubhub does not communicate with the restaurant nor the customer to ensure the food arrives let alone what happens if it does not. Picture this: You're at a restaurant ordering. You order burgers for your entire family. The waitress takes orders and responds with "Okay I'll get that right in for you" and then never returns for hours to let you know that they in fact didn't have hamburger meat. Picture worse: After not informing you... a friend offers to go out of their way to make sure you got your food because by now it was late and your family has not had dinner and they know how much it meant to you because they took your call 3 times. (The friend is Blu Sushi which is who the order was with). The order my family never received so we made Macaroni family size at 10pm. Grubhub responds with a "we have no drivers available at this time" - (even when Blu had co formed our sushi was waiting for a pickup and would stay later than when they were open just to wait for the grubhub driver. SHOUTOUT TO BLU. Blu even asked where I lived to see if it was close enough for them to PERSONALLY DELIVER IT to me. At this time when money is tough...please reconsider where you are really putting it. What if I was a single mom/dad trying to feed my kids for the night and was never notified my food wasn't on the way?? Unacceptable. There are many other apps like -Doordash -UberEats -Instacart -Postmates -Chownow This is for the single dads and moms out there who could have potentially run into something like I did and had no other means of support. Grubhub...fix the communication between the restaurant AND the customer. Both need help...before something insane like this happens.

I ordered my food around 6pm and they had the nerve 2 1/2 hours later to cancel my order. They didn't give me a reason why my food was cancelled. Just that I would get my money put back on my card in 5 business days. They changed the time of my delivery 7 times. Making me feel my food was on the way. I don't recommend nobody use their services because you won't get your food. Use anybody else to deliver your food. They are not a reliable delivery service company. I would rate them with 0 stars they don't deserve none.

Never got food, no Apology, just ok we will refund your money. I had plans and had to rush around and throw a dinner together in 15mins . Terrible. I’ve used them 1 other time and the driver “propositioned” me. Never ever again

I would seriously rate 0 stars the first two times my food never came but I was charged both time this last time they delivered the food down the street and never called to let me know they dropped it off so again I lost my money. Literally never using it again!

We ordered last night and we sat here waiting and waiting. Couldn't get a hold of anyone. 2 whole hours later received a message that our order was canceled with no explanation! Thanks a lot. So dissapointed!

Was given a delivery time of 8-8:10. Ok, but then it was delayed to 8:25-8:35. At 8:45 I went on Grubhub and it said my order was canceled! No explanation...nothing! It said to call the restaurant! I tried to call Grubhub and it said the wait time was 10 minutes. No surprise! The restaurant said that they had just received notice that the order was canceled but I could come get it if I could get there in 15-20 minutes. It would have taken longer than that! Thanks Grubhub! You lost my business!

When we first started using Grubhub a couple years ago everything was great but in the past couple of years the service has gotten really bad. One lady even went so far to say she couldn’t find us when we watched her drive around the parking lot but we couldn’t flag her down and she stole our food. Tonight we ordered ice cream from Coldstone creamery. We got so fed up with them pushing back the order because your driver refused to pick it up, so my husband ended up going to get it himself. I am sick and tired of your bad customer service.

Canceled my order?? After waiting over an hour? Didn’t say why. Just canceled. Thanks for that. Took 30+ minutes just to get their app to accept my address and complete a new account. First attempt but won’t use again.

Ordered a single menu item from an Indian restaurant and the order was originally supposed to arrive at 5:45pm. Text messages were received that the order was delayed until 6:00pm. Then notified that the order was cancelled. Called the restaurant to resolve and it was found out that GrubHub was at fault for not delivering the order. Definitely would not recommend in the majority of cases. Only ordered off of GrubHub during COVID 19 Coronavirus. Don't trust ordering anything off of these apps.

ordered 5 times received food once. Order through another company called SEAMLESS and they use GRUBHUB as the delivery. The FOOD NEVER CAME AGAIN. They only refunded me 2 of the four orders. They kept my money for orders never delivered. UNREAL STAY AWAY !!!!!!!

I left instructions to deliver food in back by garage but my food was left in the front on the ground between my neighbor and my house and no knock on the door to let me know it was here. The ants enjoyed the fries, thanks grubhub delivery person. My first and last time using grubhub. Can't answer any of the questions below because I never say the deliverer.

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any food delivery service. I am a very easy going person and I am never one to complain. I am that person at a restaurant who, if given the wrong food or not what I asked for, I will just eat it because I do not want to hurt anyone's feelings or make a scene. But this time, this was absolutely ridiculous. I ordered from a local subway and it said it would be 40-50 minutes which is fine and it said it would be delivered between 1:30 and 1:45 pm. However, due to the current pandemic the delivery was no contact which I get. I laid out specific instructions for the driver on how to find my apartment including where it was located and what the building looked like. I was told I would receive a notification once the driver delivered my order. Not only did I not get a notification, but when I checked my order status, it said it had already been delivered. I walked to all of the nearby houses to see if maybe they had delivered it to the wrong address, but did not find any food. I contacted the customer service line and they tried to help me track down my food order by contacting the driver. After being on hold for 15 minutes, the customer service agent told me he is having trouble connecting with the driver. I waited on hold for another 20 minutes for him to tell me that they are unable to contact the driver. He said he would try again and if he couldn't get a hold of the driver in another 20 minutes then he would talk with his supervisor about the next steps. At this point, it is going on 2:15 and I am starving so I asked him if we could just get a refund and forget about it. I was issued my refund and will NEVER use Grubhub again. Pretty sure the driver took off with our food.

Ordered food from here via Applebee's, after 1.5 hours, NO delivery. Contacted Grub hub and they had order but NO info but it was delivered. Not to our house tho. Customer ervice manager did nothing but cancel our order and credit our account, then hung up. Maybe find and fix the issue.

Some other driver not ours picked up our food and all grub hub does is refund our money. will NEVER use them again

I had ordered from a particular restaurant using GrubHub. The first time it was canceled, I was told the restaurant was closed, which they were not. After talking with the owner, It was confirmed they were not closed on the weekend. Yesterday I order from the same place around 7:30 pm. I received another notice telling me they ran out of the food I like. I was sent an email with no explanation of why they canceled my order. It was when I chat with them; the rep told me the reason was they ran out of the soup. I will not order from GrubHub for a while and for the restaurant, they will never use GrubHub again.
