We ordered food and the UberEATS driver picked up our order…there was a long delay and the app showed the driver not moving, not leaving the restaurant. Shortly after the ETA had passed I get an alert that my order had been CANCELLED. I had to call the restaurant to figure out what happened. The workers told me the driver picked up our order and then got in the car and cancelled our order (the restaurant got the same cancel message). The worker said it’s happened to them 3 times by UberEATS drivers. The restaurant was willing to offer a free pizza and wings even though it was not their fault at all. When I finally got ahold of UberEATS customer service through the App (no doubt AI, not any kind of actual intelligent human) they told me they were willing to give a $10 credit. $10 for me having to order food from a different place and then go out and get it (much later than we expected or wanted to eat) because UberEATS cancelled out order. I called customer service and explained the whole situation, to a real human being this time, after quite a lengthy conversation they were unwilling to give any more than the $10 credit. This was the worst customer service experience I have ever had.
