The soles of the Ecco shoes turn gummy over time even when not worn. The soles then rip apart. never buy these shoes unless you plan to wear them every day until they wear out. There is no reason for these soles to turn gummy and rip apart. They were stored on a closet shelf and the temperature in the closet was not hot.
