Service has disappeared and customer service is non existent

Called RAC at 14.26. Operator was unfriendly, not what you need when you are in a stressful situation, transpired she wasn’t even efficient. I advised that my car had possibly blown the turbo & that it needed to be towed to a garage 4 miles away, as unable to start it. I had grandchildren with me, so got back to my daughters but car was left on a remote business park, more farm than business park, no lights, no houses. I was advised that help would arrive but could be up to four and a half hours in arriving. Don’t call, we’ll update you. I called at 19.30 hours & was told that they would be out the following day!! What sort of service is this?? I could have been sat in the dark for hours, in a remote place- waiting. Not impressed

useless service and rude operators. They do not have enough resources and the use incompetent contractors. I had a simple issue with a tyre puncture but they were not able to deal with it. Avoid at all costs

Phoned RAC to be told 5 1/2 wait 6 ye old in car , below 1degree temp , then to receive text going to be a further 60 min wait , which would take it to 1030 pm as it goes canceld them to come , use your own discretion whether it’s a good service 😡

Early evening, today, my car broke down in the middle of a very busy main road. I had my 8 year old daughter in the car and it was a frightening experience. Once I’d managed to reporr it online., an RAC mechanic got in touch with me within 5 minutes. His name is Damien and he calmed me and my daughter down very quickly an towed us to the nearest RAC approved garage. He was brilliant. Nothing was a problem. And when I phoned the ongoing Hire line, Julie from Oldham, was lovely and understanding and again, efficiently reassured me. I just want to thank these 2 people for their generosity of spirit and professionalism.

Just don't bother with this company.. a complete let down, wait in all day being given non stop times of arrival only for no one to even turn up at all.. not even kept informed of anything and have to keep ringing up for updates.. rubbish company

Lone mother, 3 year old son. Blowout tyre 8pm. Consistently inaccurate timescales quoted. Dark, cold, early January. 11pm finally told recovery would arrive in 3 hours. Gave up. Abandoned vehicle. Tried to alert RAC. Number unavailable. Googled main number and left two phones ringing, one with option 1, other with option 2. 26 minutes later phone answered, finally. Vehicle recovered 12 hours later with instructions to return to home address. What use is that? Undriveable with only 3 tyres! NEVER, EVER depend on this company.

Booked my car for recovery on 11-01-2023 by RAC but didn't turn up. Called them 8 to 10 times, everything, they gave me different times of the day for recovery but not turned up. Whole day wasted. On 12-01-2023 @1430, RAC recovery arrived and took my car to their storage south Mimms services M25 instead of my mechnic in Romford. RAC said that driver couldn't drive to Romford because of driving hours so we will try to assign to another RAC recovery from south Mimms to Romford on same day but not. Today, on 13-01-2023, my mechnic still waiting the car to be deliveted yet. Almost 50 hours have been gone but my broken down car still not to deliver to my destination. How disgusting, poor and shameful services RAC providing to their customers. They charged us in advance and forget them when we need. If you want to buy stress, disappointment and depression, mental ailment, do business with RAC. Thanks

I was stranded whilst driving my work van, (this is covered by RAC) there was lack of communication from your side, to cut a long story short, I was stranded from 12.39pm until gone 1am

Sadly I hit a pothole last night which completely wrecked the front steering on the car,managed to limp to a very rural lay-by whereupon I waited for five hours for the RAC.In that time I was sent 4 texts saying how busy they were but at no point was I able to speak to anyone. The road was a fast B road and I was with my young daughter. Eventually I organised everything myself and got a taxi home. The irony was that at 1-30 in the morning (7 hours after I 1st called them) I recurved a call to tell me they were still terribly busy. As you may understand they didn’t receive the best reply from me! Do not use the RAC,yet another dear British institution ruined by penny pinching and poor management.Shame.....

If I could put 0 stars I would have done! I'm a blue badge holder therefore disabled. I called the breakdown service at 9 this morning. It took me 30 minutes to get through then I was given medical priority due to my condition and was told they would be with me within 270 minutes. So much for medical priority! It's now 12.10pm and not only they still haven't turned up but the last 'update' (automated pointless text messages) was at 10.30 promising un update within 60 minutes. Still nothing as I sit freezing cold and now in pain due to my condition. Shame on you RAC! This is no way to treat your customers!

Disgusting customer service Been on hold roadside with a two year old said they’d send someone that was 5 hours ago!!! Been on hold for over an hour and a half never ever ever again

Damaged my vehicle and denied all liability. Then proceeded to charge me for another year. Then charged my £25 to cancel. Disgusting way to treat customers.

The worst breakdown service on the United Kingdom.. phoned them on a Thursday because I was at work and when I finished car would not start. This was 3.30pm. had a tex saying they would be a max of 180 minutes. Sat in the car in the cold and waiting. 3 hours later I phoned only to be told they can not give me a time they would be there. So phoned my daughter to come pick me up. I phoned early Friday to be told yes they will be here between 10 am and 12pm. Yes no show. Phoned again they said someone would phone back. No one did. So phoned again and was told a senior manager would phone me. Had a phone call around 10pm saying they would be out around midnight. I said that is no good to me my car is 7 miles away and I have no way of getting there. Ok they said we will phone in the morning. Saturday morning they phoned and said we will send someone out to tow the car to my home address. I did not think about it to about another couple of hours that it was pointless towing the car to my home so phoned them once again they did not believe that no one had been out to look what was wrong. So they said they would send a patrol out Monday morning. Some 4 days after I broke down. This they turned up and found the battery was useless and offered to sell me one for 159 quid. I said no it's ok I can get one for 50 quid at euro parts. I will now be moving to the AA .

Stuck in car now for 5 hours and rac keep saying we will call you back ! Never happened ! Horrible service ! Told them I have serious medical issue .. not interested! Green flag is way to go ! Update.. they didn't book it in at ats and the recovery company won't keep my car over night .. car now outside my house with 2 flat tyres ... it just keeps getting worse !

Never again Have cancelled the call after 24 hours and will get towed privately Called - app is the quickest way App - please call Called - very busy call back later Went hone and called To call the next morning when will be live Called next morning and arranged a 45 minutes call prior so I could get to the car Not recorded on notes Cheeky patrolman said he would be there in 20 minutes I said I could not get there in 20 minutes Called office Arranged 1215 attendance “or thereabouts” Got to car by bus on a very cold day at 1200 RAC had ticketed my car at 1123 saying I was not there and cancelled job Called back and escalated Said I shouldn’t have been told 1215 Said now up to 207 Cancelled and will lodge complaint Arranged to get towed privately Lying shambles from start to finish Don’t use them ever

If I could give 0 stars I seriously would! Broke down 4 hours from home 22nd December and my car still isn't home. Told incorrect information time and time again, phone calls not returned. Appalling service!
