“Sold invalid tickets for Inter Milan vs Parma at San Siro on 10 May 2026 - the Serie A title match.
At the gate, the staff member tried scanning our tickets around a dozen times before calling her manager over. The manager looked us in the eye and said, 'You've been scammed, please move to the side.'
I spent the next three hours on the phone with four different StubHub reps, standing outside the stadium with my fiancée, listening to the match through the walls. The first rep promised a free replacement within 15 minutes. It never came. The second rep contradicted the first and said I needed an Inter fan card, something the first rep never mentioned, and something plenty of other resale ticket holders clearly didn't need that night, including for our original ticket. On that rep's instruction I applied for the fan card, paid €60, submitted my passport details, and filled out a 30-minute form, only to be told afterwards that the card would arrive at my UK address within 30 days. When I called back, I was told again it was my fault for not having the card in the first place.
We went back to the hotel and missed Inter clinching the Scudetto at San Siro. It was my fiancée's birthday trip and seeing that stadium was the centrepiece.
StubHub eventually issued a refund for the tickets. I emailed them afterwards with a calm account of what happened, asking for nothing, just so it was on the record. No response.
The refund covers the money. It doesn't cover the contradictory information from four reps, being repeatedly told it was my fault, being pushed into a pointless €60 fan card application, or missing the match of the season. If you're considering using StubHub for a once-in-a-lifetime fixture, weigh that carefully.”
