things don't turn up on time if they come at all. I've had things arrive broken and the seller knows it will cost more to send back sometimes than the items worth. dreadful customer service. been promised call backs I'm still waiting for. I used to purchase a lot off Amazon due to my disability. not so much so these days

worst online shop ever. Cancelled my order three times. Nobody in customer support cared, only cheap automated excused. No real interest in offering alternative, no interest in keeping you as a customer. You have a feeling that you are just a number

I placed an order for an article from Harts of Stur, to be fulfilled by Amazon. I've ordered from Harts of Stur more than once, and they've always got it right. Amazon sent me the wrong size item. I contemplated keeping it and asking for a refund of the price difference, but changed my mind, because I would probably be irritated every time I looked at it, and you don’t do exchanges, so I went for a refund. Small problem - it was a light but bulky item, I haven't got a car, and I haven't got a printer. So what do I do when I haven’t got a printer? Eventually I thought I'd found an Amazon contact email, asked what to do - and discovered that I'd wasted my time filling in a feedback form, for which there would be no feedback. And then - hallelujah - I found a human contact. The Amazon person said that she would speak sternly to the suppliers, which was rich, as the suppliers were Amazon. No printer? No problem. Just write the numbers on the packaging, and the shop will see to the rest. So I struggled round the corner, normally a five-minute walk, to a shop that does Amazon collections. (The nearest post office is nearly a mile uphill.) Oh no they won't. Woman in shop said she could print a label for me if she had a code. What code? I've got pictures of the return docs on my phone - how about I email them to you, so you have the label to print? Oh no, I can't do that, she said. Take it home (funny!), phone Amazon (very funny!) for the code. The man from Amazon won't take it without a code. I'm not taking it home. I nearly died getting it here. I left it in the shop, and just hoped that the man from Amazon wouldn't be a jobsworth. A week later, she caught up with me. I was out with a friend who has a car. The friend took me to the shop, where it was still lying in the middle of the floor, and gave me a lift to the post office. The post office don’t give a hoot about barcodes. They took a fiver off me, and sent it back to Amazon. So I am now carrying a post office receipt for £5 in my wallet, as a permanent reminder that Amazon cannot cope when something goes wrong. This little episode has destroyed my confidence in Amazon. Since then, I am only doing business with people who provide a simple email address, and a geographical phone number. I think £5 is a small price to pay for such a good lesson. Oh and I got the item I wanted from a shop in the high street, which is what I should have done in the first place. When all this happened, I was waiting for tests to find out if I had heart failure, and this annoyance, and the walk with the wrong item catching the wind in a typically oversized box, were not what I needed. I have a cousin with a string of health problems. He says, when he’s asked to send something back, he replies with list of all his health problems, ending with “No, you come here and pick it up.” Good companies sent return documents out with the consignments, and the best companies will actually offer to send a courier, so you don’t even have to ask. Deal with (for instance) Lakeland Ltd, and see how to do things properly.

They sent the wrong order out to me and refused to correct it. I had patronising and, I believe, offensive email replies. Keep away from this place!

BE WARNED - If you buy from Amazon market place and you have a problem, because money goes in two bank accounts you are not covered in section 75 of the credit card act 1974 in the UK, you will lose your customer rights. Amazon will wipe their hands even though you bought from the Amazon web pages.

i was a victim of a hack, an item was order under my account in which i thankfully managed to intercept and collect the item! Amazon where not interested in helping, at no point did they help or assist and the only response i got was 'its your problem not ours'. once the item had been returned they refused to accept the returns and kept lying to me stating they never received the item yet i can see on the tracking that they have.

**Amazon you have failed miserably with this customer** After more than 2 weeks trying to resolve a basic issue, I've now had 10 poorly worded, robot-like, standardised emails and made 7 calls to receive shocking, inconsistent advice on the phone. NET RESULT: Amazon is not customer focussed at all, they have failed to rectify a basic situation and I've been treated like a total idiot by being shouted down, spoken over and basically ignored. ----they also do not have a complaints procedure?!?! What company does NOT have this?? Wow. Thats terrible---- JEFF (CEO) and DOUG (UK MD), you should both be ashamed of yourselves as you were copied in on every email I sent. Apparently, this ridiculous customer service agent who kept emailing me was saying it all on your behalf?!? Wow. Thats unreal and terrible. This terrible experience will influence my purchasing decisions going forward and will make me much much less inclined to purchase from Amazon. I will also be sharing this experience by way of a scathing blog on the behaviour of Amazon via my blog for my 2,000 + followers and in the 80,000 + strong community of motorhomers. This has been handled really poorly, with awful communication, disgusting behaviour on the phone by a so called manager and a total disregard for customer satisfaction.

Good website via Amazon, had what I wanted at a good price, easy to order and pay. After that nothing. no delivery on the original date promised, nothing on a revised date that changed without any notification. No reply to any attempt to contact them Nothing at all. In the end complained via Amazon and obtained a refund which is fine financially but doesn't help get back the month lost waiting around for nothing to be delivered. My recommendation avoid these people unless you like lending them your money for a month or so.

I've been buying products from Amazon in three different countries for several years now and can say that I've been satisfied with the customer service everywhere. Apart from the UK. Canned responses, empty platitudes and no real help seem to be the norm here, rather than the exception. Worst was my last problem with them which would take too long to fully describe here. Suffice it to say that it cost me a considerable amount of money, not to mention stress and upset and caused me in the end to completely end my relationship with Amazon.co.uk. Never again!

Why deal with a company that dodges their tax obligations? You might save a few bob on the purchase but then you'll need to spend a hundred quid or so for a new tyre because a pot hole wasn't repaired because the country has no money to fix them.

Ordered an item which was indicated as in stock. A couple of days before the item was due to arrive I was informed that my order was cancelled. Contacted Amazon but they provided no help and did not follow through on the promises they made. I had to order the item from another supplier and pay more. Not impressed.

The one star is only due to my generous mood. Terrible, terrible customer service...when you can find it. Questions go unanswered. Misleading information was provided on the website. Will NEVER use amazon uk again.

Amazon do not care how you receive your goods and if you receive them at all but are very quick to take your money. The customer service team treat you as if you do not have any common sense. So patronising.

I renewed my Amazon Prime account (which I only realised I had a few months ago when The Grand Tour was being shown only on Amazon). I have over £300 worth of vouchers which I need to spend in the next few months. So I ordered the Amazon Fire TV media player, next day delivery with my Prime account. It didn’t arrive although the tracking showed it was with Amazon Logistics courier. I called their customer services who are in Asia and was told it would be delivered the next day. I stayed in and guess what, no delivery. The item was with the courier 6 miles away according to the tracking website. They sent me an email stating that they were unable to deliver. Nobody tried delivering the item, I was in all day. I called customer services again, and told them to cancel the order. I sent a message on their Facebook page and was sent a link so that they could investigate the issue. I replied not to bother as I have cancelled the order. I will spend my £300+ in vouchers but will not use Amazon for any other items. I may even cancel my Prime membership but will see if it is worth it for the Prime Video\TV
