I've been using Amazon since 1999 and these days I was doing most of my shopping except for food and clothes through them. I put that in past tense because they are no longer my shop of choice. I used to put in around 3 orders each week with around 500 items each year. From DVDs, music, book, electrical, pet supplies you name it. Over the years I've been quite happy with the service but in the last 2 years that has started to go downhill. First in 2013 they started doing their own cheap delivery service which hasn't been brilliant. No longer a guaranteed next day delivery, often lost and to make things even worse you are left in the lurch not knowing if something is on the way or not. This last 2 weeks I've had 4 orders go missing or damaged and not delivered. I had a worrying order a few months ago where the item they delivered (a graphics card) was not the item in the box. The box was correct but the item inside was not. It was only when my son expressed disappointment that the card was not that fast I looked into it and discovered the problem. Of Amazon apologised and refunded me but I had no explanation as to how this happened and no assurances this wouldn't happen again. Another annoyance is that I use their "Prime" service (since 2007) only for next day deliveries and this was put up by nearly £30 last year as they merged it with their video services (which I'm not interested in - I'll wait until it comes out on Sky). I couldn't see the logic in this, next day delivery and video - what's the connection. I have complained to them on numerous occasions but it's like banging your head against a wall. They're polite and seem to care but they don't really read your emails and mostly send canned replies. All in all it's a shame as I have liked them in the past but they seem to become greedy and and are putting profits before quality of service now.

My complaint is specifically about Amazon marketplace, which protects fraudulent sellers from scrutiny. Four times recently, I have been sent a cheap generic fake instead of the branded items that were advertised. Whilst, I have been able to get refunds, it is a lot of trouble for not very much money and I find that there is no way to warn other people. If I leave a negative seller review, they can easily have it removed on a trumped up technicality. If I leave a negative product review that mentions the seller, that is rejected by Amazon. Had these fraudsters tried the same thing on eBay, negative feedback would have given the game away.

I sold an item on Amazon.co.uk. The buyer filed an A-Z claim. I contacted Amazon for advise and was told to wait for the buyer to return the item then decide to offer a full or partial refund depending on items condition on return. There was no mention of 7 days to appeal the A-Z claim! Which was the reason for my call in the first place! Amazon refunded the buyer who has not returned the item. Amazon have refused to assist in any way. I will never use the service again and would advise others the same

I have been a customer for 15 years. They have a system whereby when you ring up customer services is 50/50. Some speak good English, and the other half don't. They also have a system what l call good cop/bad cop. Which means if the person dealing with you cannot help you, they pass you onto another department where these people can be annoyingly disrespectful and rude. Also they enjoy it if you become angry. These people are known as the bad cop department. Also they are an evil group of backstabbers who gang up against you. I have always given Amazon UK the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately it is time for me to move on and say: GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDENS. 👎☹️👎

Promised a delivery time, but emailed me on day of orginal delivery time to put back another 3 days, then email me to say they have split the deliveries to gurantee that date? forgetting they should of delivered it already, rang customer services, apologised, tried to say they had tried to deliver but i wasnt in, cut him off before he could finish as i have been at home all week and tracking shows no such attempt, then offers £5 and apologises because that the maximum he can offer, then speaks to a manger, alledgedly, says the systems went down all day at despacth centre, even though i had deliveries on the days this catastrophic failure was meant to have happened, then tells me he will put £10 credit in my account because that is the max he can offer!? what? wait, they upped the max in the last 5 minutes? i felt insulted and asked for somebody who deals with complaints or for someone to ring me regarding the issue, goes away, comes back and says he will send an email with complaint form etc...what was sent was a customer feedback form....absolute joke, i have raised an odr amd will fill every feedback form i can find, at no point this week was i informed of any changes or failures but they think thats fine, i am just one person after all.... just lies and scripted reponses

I renewed my Amazon Prime account (which I only realised I had a few months ago when The Grand Tour was being shown only on Amazon). I have over £300 worth of vouchers which I need to spend in the next few months. So I ordered the Amazon Fire TV media player, next day delivery with my Prime account. It didn’t arrive although the tracking showed it was with Amazon Logistics courier. I called their customer services who are in Asia and was told it would be delivered the next day. I stayed in and guess what, no delivery. The item was with the courier 6 miles away according to the tracking website. They sent me an email stating that they were unable to deliver. Nobody tried delivering the item, I was in all day. I called customer services again, and told them to cancel the order. I sent a message on their Facebook page and was sent a link so that they could investigate the issue. I replied not to bother as I have cancelled the order. I will spend my £300+ in vouchers but will not use Amazon for any other items. I may even cancel my Prime membership but will see if it is worth it for the Prime Video\TV

Upon pre-ordering an item a month before its release I've been told the day before release that I will not be recieving said item on the day of release because I hadn't payed for delivery. Then apon complaint was not offered any sort of help. Amazon really do appear to be money grabbers with no concern of customer loyalty

My 4 month old Amazon Kindle Paperwhite goes to USB mode when charging, which means that I cannot use the device Plus, I have to reboot the Kindle to get it out of the USB mode. Did all of Amazon's tech support rep's suggestion but none of them resolved the problem. Plus the rep implied that I was responsible for this defective product. I had to insist that I receive a new Kindle; the rep didn't offer that as an option. I am supposed to go to the UPS store, purchase appropriate packaging to send my Kindle back to Amazon before they send me a replacement Kindle. I won't be getting a new Kindle but a "refurbished one," and they didn't guarantee that I would get the same generation Paperwhite.. My biggest complaint was that Amazon never offered to replace my Kindle and blamed me for their faulty product. I had to insist on it. Poor customer service. Amazon doesn't stand behind its Kindle.
