Calumet Euston, it's a great store, everything is great but except from the Floor Manager 'Jamie' who served me on both 2 separate occasions. I found his attitude towards me not great at all, as I found him rather rude in the way he spoke. I came to refund a product because I had found it cheaper elsewhere, he asked where and I told him where, he raised one eyebrow at me. His expression and the way he looked at me like I was some kind of idiot, I found this extremely rude. He looked back at me with his raised eyebrow, and replied "right...okay... well do you that....etc...?" I'm not sure about the other staff... but it would be nice if he had a more positive and friendly attitude toward customers. The experience for me was rather unpleasant because of him. Customers should be valued and respected, but his attitude was just not nice. On the other hand, during my first shop at calumet euston I was served by Amanda, she was such a lovely lady, very nice and helpful.

Bought two boxes of 160 Portra for a workshop with Arts4Wellbeing, a facility providing arts projects for people with mental health issues in northeast - came to load it just before going on location and one box damp throughout. Too late to return but sales assistant should have noticed before putting in bag - she had a mild attitude problem though. I then asked a large black guy ( with glasses I think ) behind the desk if you stocked instant film for a Fuju 100 Instax camera, bringing out the camera and he just laughed in my face - I'm dealing here with a sensitive issues on delivering this project and he just assumed I was some amateur ! I have worked as a high profile photographer 35 years, winning more awards than I can count and can do without such a shitty service.

Although the sales assistant was very informative I was sold a pre-owned Canon 580ex flash unit that was faulty. The pull out light diffuser was snapped and could not be accessed, the unit also did not respond once turned on. I had a job the following day which required this light, thankfully I had time to return it and exchange for another otherwise I would have looked very embarrassed in front of my clients. The other items I purchased were all fine, however this was my first time using Calumet and I'm incredibly disappointed that such an esteemed company could sell me something that was so clearly broken. The sales assistance promised to follow up my complaint, three weeks on and I have received no contact.

Goods were faulty. It was returned and I purchased another from Calumet similar but not the same as it was the last in the UK. The price was the same but I had to pay for the replacement item and I now need to wait for my money back for the faulty background. A bit of unnecessary admin for me for something that was Calumets doing. So I've currently paid twice the price and have to wait for my money back. Good job it's only a background and not an expensive camera or lens else I would have gone elsewhere if it were in the hundreds/thousands £'s.

I took a Nikon camera in for estimate and repair following water damage. I had to chase several times to find out progress and eventually had to ask for the estimate. That took several weeks! When it was finally returned to the shop following repair there was a new fault on the flash - if the photo required a flash it wouldn't work. This is following extensive bench testing at Nikon repair centre. I t has been returned again to Nikon for further repair and promised to be dealt with as urgent. Another ten days has passed with no information back from Calumet and still no sign of my camera. Unfortunately I have paid Calumet for the initial repair, so I don't suppose they are too bothered now how long it takes. Not even offered a temporary replacement - poor show. Very disappointed with the lack of service, communication and consideration, and perhaps Nikon repair centre should be in the dock as well for their incompetence.

The product that I ordered was great but I was not too happy with the customer service. The complaint I have is that I didn't get any email notifications on progress of the order. This is something that other companies I have ordered from have provided and is very helpful when you're running a business as it means that I don't have to keep logging in and checking my online account to see the order progress. This would have been very helpful as my order of 2 items arrived in 2 parts over separate days. I had no notification that this would be happening and was disappointed as it meant that I could not use the equipment that I had needed quite urgently as a replacement. I had to contact Calumet staff to find out that the order was being shipped in 2 parts from 2 different stores. If this had been emailed to me then I wouldn't have had to waste a considerable amount of time contacting staff to find out why I had only received 1 part of the order. They then gave me a tracking number then but this would have been more helpful if I had got it in the 1st place rather than having to ask for it.

I was collecting an order I had placed online. When I presented the paid-up invoice which had all the relevant details, the girl who served me seemed not to know what to do, but eventually she tracked down what I had ordered. Even then she did not know whether it had already been paid for (yes, it had).

I have always found the service at Calumet less than desirable... it is definitely better now more staff have been taken on, I at least get served alot quicker, but mistakes and a lack of enthusiasm to help still seems present.

Great confusion over buying Trigger for Genesis system. Own Genesis system, lost trigger system. Placed order to click and collect from Manchester store. Cancelled order when missing items where found. Informed Calumet within minutes of paying and ordering replacement that device wasn't required. Told to clarify order number with card details. Before I had chance to provide info as end of working day. The item was shipped to my home address even though the item was a click and collect. Busy on a week long shoot, I now have to find the time to travel out to a calumet store to return item. As if posted -postal costs won't be reimbursed. Yawn.

I ordered a Canon 6D well within the prescribed time schedule to qualify for next day delivery and duly received tracking information. The following day a parcel arrived via an unknown courier containing one of the free accessories, in fact, the one which I didn't actually want anyway. Each time that I followed up the tracking detail I was told that either I had input the wrong number or the details were so old they had been archived! No "next day delivery" was received. I telephoned and was told that the camera and the other accessories had "missed" or were not ready for the couriers collection but would be sent that day. As a result I had to wait in another day for the delivery. The tracking number never was recognised by the courier website even after the goods were received! So if you are waiting for goods to arrive and arrange your diary accordingly add on an extra day.

Slow processing of order (despite next day delivery claims for in stock items). Cancelled order in the end due to the delays (but then had to remind them several days later to process the refund as they forgot to do it). Customer service was, however, polite. Doubt I will shop here again - too much hassle.

The items were put on order by phone. I twice asked for confirmation that they were available - no reply The staff in Birmingham were friendly and helpful . On Friday pick up the wrong lens had been sent, the shutter release cable did not match the D750, The 1.4 X Converter would not fit the 80-400mm lens provided and I should have had D750 software in order to open NEF files in CS5 - my ignorance. Nevertheless the equipment I could use gave me an interesting and challenging weekend. If there is another time, I will double check at point of pick up.

I was going to call in about the poor service. I went to your store in Euston and I have to say the person that served me was NOT really helpful and mad me feel quite bad as I am not a camera person. I found the whole experience very uncomfortable. If another shop had the camera that I got in stock I have to say " I would have not bothered getting it in your store. Very poor service. Still you live and you learn.

Went to the store to spend a considerable amount of money on a new camera (and trade in an old one) - the guy who served me was one of the slowest servers i've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. It took almost an hour for me to be able to spend over £2,500. He didn't seem capable of coherent thought - he started processing the sale and mentioned that they may not have all of the items, and then carried on - i had to prompt him to check if alternatives were available or even if I could complete the sale on the day. Everything seems to take ages and seemed to be a challenge for him to comprehend. I didn't get the impression that this guy new much about cameras. I rate Calumet as a company, but this was a terrible customer experience - painful ..... very very painful

Disappointed that you can't spend part of a gift voucher ie I had a £50 voucher to spend and I wasn't allowed any change. So given I was spending £30 I had to pay cash.

Hi, where do I start, I've been a customer of Calumet for many year, even back as far as the KJP days, yes I spot a couple of people still there in Drummond Street since then! I love the convenience of your Drummond street store, on site parking, getting what I need for my day to day existence as a professional photographer, a credit account etc.... I'm not sure what is going on behind the scenes at Calumet HQ or whether any of this has any links to the failure of the US business, but I have noticed a distinct worsening of the service and more or less everything over the last year, and have waiting for a forum like this to let someone, anyone know from a pro photographers point of view. To start, the store is wonderfully stocked.... with things the normal pro photographer doesn't want while I am forever waiting on back orders for things the other stories, Teamwork, Flash Centre, Pro Centre have in stock daily. I'm also finding I being sold cheap 'crap' and I'm sorry to use this word 'own' brand stuff imported from China. I get the distinct feeling you are turning into more of a Jessops (look what happened to them!) for pro's, rather than a store I can go to for all my needs. Okay, some of your bags etc are good, but stands, video rigs, need I go on, are of rubbish quality and break far quicker. When I come in for a manfrotto stand, I'm told you have one or two and have to back order anything else! TFC had one there and then to quote a need I had a week or so ago. Secondly, training, its looking like this has gone out of the window. you had one guy in the store who knew what things were about and mad it evident to me he was looking to be a photographer rathe than working in Calumet. I have spoken tho some staff, and their knowledge, especially working in a supposed Pro photographer's store was shocking. I may as well have asked my wife to describe some of the products etc. Finally, the credit accounts. Well, the 15 days given before I receive a phone call chasing money, then having my account stopped in store I don't really know why you bother. When i'm there trying to buy something, and I'm told in front of other customers, your accounts on hold as you haven't paid, sounds like I haven't paid for months! I'm assure you know clients don't pay their photographers in 15 or even 30 days! And at least give us some slack. I appreciate your suppliers since the US failure are probably not giving you a very good credit deal. If this is the case, just get rid of them and get us to pay on our credit card there and then, perhaps with a slight discount to encourage us to shop with you. hopefully, this feedback won't just disappear into the ether of ranting customers, but I think unless something positive is done soon, you may be going the way of the US store. And that would be a travesty for the UK photo market. Phillip Waterman.

I rented Canon 24-70 USL f2.8 L2 glass. Checked the pricing over the internet and the rental booking was done over the phone. The rental was for a weekend (Saturday evening pick up and return on Monday morning as Sunday being holiday), as I have rented the same previously I did not specifically check the price in-store, but on return I was charged higher than the internet rate (say about £7-8 extra). I did not dispute this as I was in a hurry to head back for work. I consider this not to be a true reflection of information provided on the internet.

My order was delivered to the wrong address and left with an unknown person who had to drive to my home to deliver it herself. This took over a week.

very helpful staff trying to overcome the inadequacies of a very poor public facing website, inadequate stock, poor stock control and and simply abysmal internal IT systems. My latest experience ? two and half hours to establish that none of the items I wanted were physically on the premises despite systems saying that they were, with staff battling with IT systems in order to attempt to supply parts of 'kits' that ought to have been in stock. So much for professional service and "our extensive range of expert photography equipment"
