I bought a 5D Mark III (paying upfront) from The Photography Show at the NEC where I was told that there were none available to take home, but they would place one on order and it would be delivered next day. I anticipated a couple of days waiting time but after a week and no correspondence, I rang customer services to chase only to be told that it could be another 10 to 14 days - disappointment! Granted it arrived today, only two weeks after the show, but I had no communication of when it would be delivered so it was only down to luck that I was in to take delivery. It seems to me that Calumet could improve its customer service by using better communication methods such as text and email, used as standard by other companies, to keep its customers better informed.

Bought in December a panel/reflector kit consisting of frame, legs, white diffusion fabric, black/silver fabrics, clips... Received them during the next 4 months, more or less one item each month. Obviously, I wasn't really able to any of these until I finally got the last item last week. And I'm still waiting for an unrelated product bought at the same time. Make yourself a favor, buy from Amazon instead.

Lovely Sales attendant ..but neither the lens or Camera bag was in stock Amazon delivered my Camera Bag at 10am the following morning so didn't need to wait the suggested 5 or 6 days Also it was a beautiful day on Sunday ...and I was out photographing all day ...My lovely new lens arrived on ..Tuesday ...

I guess it was my fault for changing the order at short notice, but I got charged for the full order and am still waiting for the refund. The part that did come was posted out when I asked for collect in store and I kept missing the Fed-Ex delivery. Then when it did arrive, it was a pre-opened box of bits - one part didn't work and another part was the wrong size. I had to take it back to the store to get a new one, and came away wishing I hadn't bothered...

I was very disappointed when my 2.72m long backdrop paper was not delivered to my studio but instead sent to my home. I had to arrange separate delivery for a shoot which was happening the next morning. I wrote an email to Calumet and received a phone call the day after my shoot. The operator, Raj, was very apologetic and took my complaint seriously which was some recompense for the inconvenience caused.

Paid the fee to be shown the basics of SLR photography. Were kept waiting for over an hour and left, to quote another member of the class, knowing 'less than I did when we came in'.

I am still waiting for the purchase to arrive in store. I bought it on Thursday afternoon and was told it would be delivered on Friday afternoon at the latest. I called in on Friday lunchtime to be told it had not been dispatched, (something to do with the printer in the Glasgow store) but it would be here on Saturday. Failing that definitely on Monday, without fail. The salesman assured me he would phone to let me know it had arrived. I called them on Monday lunchtime to be told it hadn't arrived but it was coming from Glasgow! I am still waiting, in the meantime something I ordered from the USA on Friday arrived this morning.

I purchased through the website and everything was in stock. One week later nothing received so i contacted them only to be told they are awaiting for stock. A simple email would have been fine to tell me the situation. Hence the poor review.

Product is good however, I ordered the film on the 19th December and it said it would get to me within the week, yet it had still not been delivered in January no email was sent to update me on the delay. After a phone call, a very nice man who told me that it was not in stock until a couple of weeks. The product did arrive until late January.

The product is admittedly at a very good price but while a confirmation of purchase email was received, no details were provided on when I might receive the product. When after a week I hadn't received it I started to get worried. It arrived a week and a half after I made the purchase on line. There was also no 'your item has been dispatched' email or tracking number. When people like Amazon are doing such a good job getting items to you in a matter of days and delivery times are always made clear and tracking numbers on even the cheapest products, the service from Calumet is simply not in the same league. I want to support independent retailers and not just giants like Amazon but on the strength of this purchase, I would hesitate before buying from them again.

Unfortunately not a great experience. The items I bought had to be back-ordered, which was fine, but each time I called for an update and was promised a call back, no-one phoned. Every time. Also, making your customers pay at the time of ordering, rather than when items are dispatched or collected, puts you out of line with the best of your competitors. Could have been so good, but in the end, quite some room for improvement.

The Calumet webshop service is surprisingly poor. We have ordered from Calumet several times over the years. In our experience, service has dropped to an unacceptable level. This last time, we ordered products listed as "In Stock". Still, Calumet waited 9 days to ship. After almost three weeks, we contacted Calumet to notify customer service that we still had not received our order. Calumet reported back to us, that unfortunately, our shipment had been delivered to the wrong country. Subsequent to this notification – Calumet has not followed up at all. No new delivery schedule. No update. No nothing. Calumet collected their money from our credit card, days before shipping. We have cancelled the order and asked for a full refund. As of yet, we have not received a cancellation confirmation or our refund. Simply unprofessional and unacceptable. :- ( Bibow Design & Imagery Corp. Denmark

I visited two shops, online and over the phone, and rental and sales (in store). In all cases I was struck by a distinctly unhelpful undertone that some would construe as 'attitude'. I could see the staff were busy, for sure, and their professional knowledge was evident, however, both I and them, found the sourcing and buying process littered with cul-de-sacs and deeply frustrating. I got the sense they were not prepared to 'go the extra mile' for the company, let alone me.

when a company charges for postage i expect quick expedited delivery..4 days later film still hasn't arrived..and i have departed on my shoot without it! poor poor service

My order was "lost" for several days - no communication re delivery - money was of course extracted from my account . In the end I had to call Calumet to find out what was happening- was told my item should have been "Picked" but had not been . Promised to do so immediately which they did as I got it next day ( nearly a week late ! )

Still waiting for items to be delivered that were ordered in October 2014. Not really what you would expect from a company like Calumet Photographic.

Ordered 2 items that were in stock and was expecting next day delivery, items didnt arrive next day or the day after so called the customer service team. Was promised the items would be sent the next day and I would take delivery the day after - nothing arrived. Called again and was told the same story. Basically wasted two days waiting in for items to arrive, however they did eventually get here.

First couple of purchases online recently. One never arrived, the other had a bit missing. Nothing major but no one has yet rectified either problem 3 weeks later! I spent £1000 in store in Soho when I bought my first DSLR last year and the guys there were pretty miserable now that I think of it.

I paid for the item instore and was told that delivery would be within a week. If the item didn't arrive I was to contact calumet. A week later nothing arrived, so I called. I was told that the item hadn't been dispatched and that I would have it next day. Two days later still nothing, so called back. I was told again that hadn't been dispatched. I was then told expect within 5 days. To my surprise it arrive within two. However at this time of year there were supposed to be two free gifts, these were not included.

Not impressed so far. The equipment I bought had to be returned as I was advised incorrectly over the phone by your staff as to which piece of kit was suitable for my camera. The piece has been returned and your returns form completed online but I've still yet to receive the correct replacement item.
