When I took my camera in for repair, it came back - £176 later - with another repair needed to a different part of the camera. And I'm still waiting to hear when I'll get the camera back.

Well what can I say, I ordered a rental lens for a Wedding shoot and when I arrived to collect it, it wasn't there! The staff could not be more apologetic, but we were stuck. I needed a wide aperture for the wedding. SO what to do! The staff were great we talked through the options and they agreed that the did have a lens, an f2.4 rather than the f1.4 i was after. It was a slight improvement on the lens I had, although when we got to the low light conditions it was not good enough for the job. I had to resort to a manual focus lens and missed out on some Cracking photos. They did agree that they would charge me the same as the lens I would have borrowed. However when my wife returned it, they charged her the full price for the lens! I have given one star for the team in Birmingham, but for the rest of the team I was really dissapointed.

I bought 3 c-stands and paid several hundred pounds on January 15th 2015. They finally arrived in early June 2015. During this time, not once did anybody from Calumet either call or email me to explain the delay. I had to call repeatedly to get an update, and every time the answer was "we are waiting for a shipment", and it was not possible to give me an expected delivery date. Not even in terms or weeks or months. Nothing, just wait for the next update which would never come. I don't expect such a lack of customer care from such a major company. Almost 5 months of delay with no contact, and with no information when I contacted the company. This is completely unacceptable and one of the worst customer services experiences I have had with any company.

I was not impressed with the service at your Euston store recently. I was sold the wrong model of softbox despite discussing the model I wanted with the assistant. This meant I had to track half way across London due to your fault to exchange it for the correct model. Not easy as I have a serious spine injury making travel difficult and painful. On top of this, I sent and re-sent my complaint in an email to your 'customer service' main contact address, asking for a reply, and several weeks later I have still not had a reply. Hence my score of poor, which I would not expect from a company that advertises itself on 'expert' 'professional' standards.

I've had to purchase around 7K worth of camera kit this spring and because of previous experience with Calumet and its proximity to where I live it was my first and preferred point of call. The frustrating experience started with my details not appearing on your system although I have been a customer for years. The first person I talked to was unable to tell me whether the camera I was after (C100 Mark II) was available and asked me to speak to a superior who would be available the next day. When I called the next day this person was not in and other staff was unable to help. I finally spoke to a friendly person after the weekend, which was a waste of time as he didn't follow up and had gone on holiday. So I had to talk to yet another person. Each time I had to spell out my name as if I was a new customer as none of the people I talked to added me to the system and no profile was created. I eventually received an estimate once the person was back from holiday of the items but apparently it was not possible to say how long it would take to get the camera from Canon. Hence I decided to get the kit from another company who had no problem telling me exactly when Canon would be shipping it to their warehouse and when I would receive the package at my Central London address. The price was lower as well. Since then I've bought a Manfrotto bag at your Drummond Street shop and received excellent service from a friendly sales person (oriental looking man) who finally made a customer profile for me. Also I'm hiring kit from you today. Still, it frustrates me when I think of how I was undermined previously when I was willing to spend all that money.

I purchased two backdrops for calumet both were more expensive than warehouse express and I wanted to use their "price promise". Nobody got back to me after confirming over the phone that I would get a refund of the difference for one of the backdrops. I heard nothing from them. The delivery time was delayed significantly and was supposed to be next day and took a week to receive the item after two calls to chase it up, as it had not been actioned the first time. Overpriced and poor service for my first shopping experience. I will stick exclusively to warehouse express as they are cheaper and more reliable.

The reason for my low rating is i ordered two matthews blade frames on 4th March, i was told it would take up to 4 weeks as they come from the USA, no problem im going on annual leave they will be here when i get back. So its April i phone them to see where my order is, told that there was a problem with the supplier and they had not arrived, i was told them they had no date for delivery and they could not give me anymore information. Rolling onto May i call again and chase the order and get told someone would contact me back, they did which is a bonus but only to be told it will be two more weeks before they arrive. I have spent a lot of money with Calumet through my business and personal accounts and asked for a goodwill gesture / discount for the wait and was clearly told there is nothing they can offer. Come on i was not asking for much just something to say sorry for the delay. The frames arrived middle of May.

I placed the order on April 17th to take on holiday April 25th. I was then informed you could not ship dangerous goods when it was expected. When I returned from a weeks holiday the parcel was lying in a large puddle outside my front door. I do not know how long I had been their. Being classed as dangerous goods why was it left for anyone to pick up.

I was interested in purchasing a Rode Mic for my camera that I bought from Calument, I called the Drummond St store; due to its size of the store, I thought id receive some professional advice as to which of the Mic to purchase from the store. The girl I spoke to wasn't able to help unfortunately, but she reserved a Mic for me in the Wardour St store. I then went to this store to ask about upgrading the Mic i had paid for over the phone, of which the woman helping me 'had no idea' as the only person to have knowledge was on holiday. After working in a camera store for two years a couple of years ago, I went out of my way to help the customer, particularly one quite keen on upgrading to more expensive equipment that we had in stock. As she couldn't give me a valid reason to upgrade my Mic, i took the original one I'd paid for. I think it's important to feel like i'm appreciated either calling up, or going into the store, and I don't really get that from your Wardour st. Branch unfortunately. In a time when people are going online to amazon and such to order all there stuff for cheaper, you'd think the service in-store would warrant the extra prices

We recently bought one of your Muslin backgrounds (Earth Washable, MP4103 10x12) for a photo shoot. When we took the Muslin out of the box it looked nothing like what was advertised on the website and was actually just an Army green sheet. This caused major problems for us due to our time schedule. Thankfully, the staff at your Euston store were very helpful and managed to get me a full refund; the fault doesn't lie with them and I can't fault their service. However, I feel I have been completely misold something by your website and would be very hesitant to buy anything from you online again.

I pop up in your Euston (London) store for a couple of items : 1.) An air cushioned light stand 2. wall mount light stands The person I approached was helpful I found the stand i was looking for, but when looking for the the wall mounts the person serving me noticed the items were showing in stock in the system but he couldn't find the items. He ask somebody else as he mentioned he did not have access to certain area, he made contact with this person who went inside to look for the items came out again he didn't bother to tell us the result of the search and instead went to serve to another customer, both of us were left waiting and the salesman serving me at the tilt apologise to me for an action that was completely unprofessional, I left the store with no wall mounts and i guess I will look for them somewhere else.

Your website is terrible. The search function is totally illogical and it's almost impossible to find items easily and get extra info off the site. Needs a total overhaul. Take a leaf out of B&H's website and sort it. Also your postage is a bit of a rip off. Apart from that I like getting stuff from calumet.

This shop has gone downhill over recent years. They almost never have anything in stock that you want but tell you they can order it from another branch in another part of the country. They always try to sell you their branded goods, i.e. the calumet version of a manfrotto tripod, etc. and nothing they sell is cheaper than you can get it anywhere else. A bit corporate really !

Most items are out of stock. I'm surprised that Calumet let their stock get so low without re-ordering. When items are in stock, they are dispatched quickly, usually received in a couple of days, but, as in my case, only a part order, the rest is to follow. If you look at the web site, most of the stock is awaiting re-stocking. Not really impressed.

What should of been an exiting purchase of studio lighting turned into a disappointment at every corner. From having to prove address to the order being forgotten and finally a broken bulb when it came.

The staff at Drummond street are way to cool. A smile doesn't cost anything. I also looked round the shop as I needed some stuff and almost everything I looked at didn't have a price on so I gave up and went to The Pro Centre.

I purchased two things in two separate transactions on the same day. The thing that they said was out of stock got sent to me within three days, the thing that was apparently in stock I haven't yet received 8 days on. I rang up and queried where my item was and apparently even though I had received an order confirmation it had not gone anywhere in house .... this was last Friday morning! To be fair they were very apologetic but I was hoping it was going to be delivered today but no such luck! So, although they are usually pretty good, on this occasion I am sorry to say they have been poor :(

When i picked up the equipment i asked what had been wrong with it but no one knew. I was told to call back when someone else was in the office but I didn't write down their name neither did they, so i didn't call back especially as when i was trying to call to see when it would be ready, the line was constantly engaged. Please could you tell me what was wrong with it. Thanks.

TWo items orderd and both showing as in stock. On delivery only one item sent but no contact to advise other item was out of stock either by text, email or call. Full payment taken though. HAving siad that delivery was brilliant and packaging fine.
