The guy in your Drummond Street shop has been very kind and professional. I am happy with the service. I have to say I am really disappointed by the answer I've got when I've called you by phone before coming to the shop...the person who replied me has been really rude pointing that I was not speaking a proper english an repeating me every sentence I said in this way: "ok, let's say it in english, you want to...". This is really unacceptable and pretty racist too. At the end of my phone call he told me that he would have reserve the item for me but in the reality when I came to the office it comes clear that he didn't reserve anything...luckily one camera was still available. The poor rating I'm giving you is the sum of the very good service I've had when in the shop and the unacceptable one I've got by phone.

I bought a Fujifilm XT-1 boxed camera kit on 29th Aug from Calumet at Drummond St, London NW1. I understood from the sales person that I was eligible for a £100.00 cashback, which I then applied for, from Fujifilm. They have now repudiated the claim on the basis that 'not enough purchases were made for this promotion'. although the invoice total is £1388.00. I presume, although they do not say, that this is because the purchase was part funded by part exchange. Either way I feel somewhat shortchanged and that Fujifilm, or Calumet, owes me £100.00. I hope that either Fijifilm or Calumet will get in topuch. Sincerely, Danny Israel.

I had cause to return a faulty item and dealing with one particular operator at customer services was far from a pleasant experience. I found the individual concerned to be very casual in her manner and she came across that she couldn't really care less about me as a customer. I most certainly didn't feel valued at all and feel I was given misinformation and given the run around. Calls were not returned as promised and I was left feeling frustrated and angry that my query was not taken seriously. Having said that, my initial communication via email was replied to promptly and courteously. I must also add that the faulty item I returned was replaced reasonably quickly but not on the day I was told it would be delivered, another source of frustration. I have yet to try out the replacement item and hoping the are no problems this time.

My Lowe Pro camera bag was broken. It took Calumet several weeks to chase the manufacturer for a repair. The service was poor and the man in charge of repairs seemed reluctant to help. Eventually something was done when I asked to submit a complaint.

I have bought many items at the Manchester branch and found the service fantastic. Unfotunately on this occasion I bought 3 genesis monolights for my business and found the service way below standard. The items were marked on the website "awaiting stock, accepting orders", however I wasn't expecting a 9 week wait for my order. I also wasn't told this at the time of ordering, I was only told when I called customer service to check on progress. Running my own small business this had a financial impact as I had to turn work away. The items I received have been fantastic. From now on I feel I will only shop in store. Regards, Anthony

I purchased some Genesis Flash equipment from Calumet a few months back. The equipment is very good and I have been requesting a 1-2-1 instruction from Calumet for nearly 6 weeks now. I understand some folk have been on holiday and there has been a delay but I do feel that the customer service in this area sadly lacking.

I paid £15.95 to have my film order delivered the next morning before 10.30 for a job the next day, and one of the 3 parcels never arrived, as was delivered by the driver to the wrong address. I alerted Calumet to this and had to chase this up over several days, as well as taking time out of my work that day to go and buy the missing films, and labouring over the phone to repeatedly state that, in spite of the driver's assurances, the parcel had not in fact been delivered to my house. Eventually got refunded for the film but not for the delivery charge as I had received part of my order, which is besides the point as missing some of my order meant I had to take time off work, when under time pressure, to compensate for this. Everything would have seemed more forgivable if dealt with more efficiently, keeping me informed of the progress without me having to phone back day after day, and if my delivery charge had been refunded as an apology for all the inconvenience caused, amongst other things.

I phoned the Manchester store to check if they had any 135 film in, I was told on the phone that the stock would have to come in from another store and that if I ordered it into the Manchester store, I would still pay the delivery fee as if it was being delivered to my house. I decided to use the website to order and get it delivered to my house but found out upon ordering it could be delivered to the Manchester store free of charge for me to pick up. I ordered (on a mid week morning) and it arrived the next day for me to pick up which was very convenient, more so than a home delivery which I would've missed. In the store, the member of staff on the film counter was very slow to deal with me, at one point I almost thought I had turned invisible as he made no effort to acknowledge me and actually made a phone call while I stood in front of him, I had to attract his attention as he was walking away having waited several minutes. I believe this was the same member of staff which I spoke to the previous day on the phone who does not understand Calumets delivery policy. After I had received my film, I decided to take a look around and I encountered another member of staff who was very helpful. If I had only dealt with this member of staff, I expect this would've been a 5 star review.

I ordered three items, but only two arrived, with no explanation of why the third was missing. I e-mailed to ask why it hadn't arrived, but received no answer at all. I then rang a week later, and was told that someone would ring me back with a delivery date. No-one rang me, however. I then rang again, a week later, and was told the same thing. Again, no-one rang me. Finally, just as I was going to write a letter of complaint three weeks later, I was contacted and promised delivery, which then duly took place. The item in question was Ilford Hypam Fixer, which is a standard darkroom chemical. I cannot understand why you should have taken well over a month to get this to me, and not let me know during that time what was going on.

Came in store to pick up a pre-ordered item. Asked two staff where to pick up item- neither knew. Told to knock on door of service desk- no answer! Finally helped by a good member of staff who made up for the initial lack of service

Easy to order and select my closest branch for collection, received a phone call from the branch to tell me the order was in. This bit was great. Turned up the following day and the branch (Wardour St) acted like they had never had a customer there to collect an order before. They couldn't initially find the items I had ordered it was the third person that went looking in their basement who was eventually able to find the box. They didn't know who had rung me to confirm receipt into the store and seemed skeptical this had even happened until I showed them the called ID on my phone with their store number. It felt chaotic and has lowered my confidence in using the Click & Collect service.

The staff at Calumet seem very uninterested in serving customers, allowing a line to build of 10-15 people, with several staff members standing around appearing to do very little. People need to be served more quickly.

I phoned to reserve a piece of equipment to hire, but when I arrived to collect it, Malcolm had no recollection of our phone call and had not reserved the item. Moreover, he was very grumpy that I wished to hire it, and seemed to view my custom as a major inconvenience to him. If I hadn't needed this thing urgently at that time, I'd have gone elsewhere to hire it.

A little disappointed ,as was about to spend in excess of £1000.00, no follow up to initial enquiry phone call even though all forms of contact were given .It seemed as though members of staff did not communicate with each other .I had to make the follow up call and it was touch and go if the business was going else where. Even at the arrival at the store friendliness was sparse and it was very much like being at the supermarket checkout ..... put your items through the till ,pay and good bye. No offers of anything discounted or any interest in selling meanything else whatsoever. I will have to think long and hard before buying anything else from Calumet. Gave the impression of being elitest and £1300.00 was a paultry amount .

I came from Liverpool to Manchester to buy Manfrotto Stand /Umbrella ( advertised by email) but when i got there nobody had a clue.. showed them the advert and was then informed this it was only a stand for amazing value of £89 quid.. no umbrella.. I said advert was very misleading... smart mouthed assistant said " well the flash is not included either" nicer assistant did me a deal for cheap umbrella, so in the end was OK.. London Euston visit: surly none talking assistant served me while other chatted up pretty young lady not buying anything.. felt I was in the way.. I'm a pro shooter for 20 years and this happens all the time. I'd get better service if I had tits, was 20 years younger and bought zit! Well you did ask... Buy online from Wexler now.. quick next day delivery.. no attitude , robot does the work.

Still long wait at sales counter, regularly ignored by staff, quite often in a hurry and see staff spending a lot of time with non professionals / consumers etc on the other hand rentals is always a pleasure to deal with.
