“Completely dishonest. I booked a car through them, pick up less than 48 hours later. Booking said cancellation was free of charge.
When I tried to cancel my booking one hour later (as a family member said they could pick me up), it turned out the full amount of the rental would be charged as I cancelled less than 48 hours before pick-up.
In my eyes they should therefore not have mentioned "free cancellation booking" .
Of course impossible to join anybody by phone, and no reply to my email.

Wel betaald, maar dus geen auto's. Moesten 1 hele dure Audi huren (laatst beschikbare) bij Sixt. Carjet beloofde het verschil tussen de huur van de 2 auto's en de dure Audi terug te betalen, na vele maanden en veel correspondentie nooit gebeurt. OPLICHTERS !”

We are in a remote location in Germany, we booked a car through car jet, they processed the transaction and took our cash, then when we arrived at the store there was no cars available for us. As tourists this has really screwed up our travels, and meanwhile they still hold our cash. There was absolutely zero communication from carjet or the rental car company. Do not use these guys they are terrible”

“I was refused to receive the car because Global Car Rental at Krakow Airport did not accept my card (which btw I used in Austria with the same company and there was no issues). I was told that it is because I did not buy insurance in this company, just external one, and they asked me to pay extra almost 200 Euros "deposit" which is non refundable. I was ready to buy this insurance, but the guy from Global did not agree. This is unacceptable because I had all necessary documents and cards, their policy is just wrong as they are looking to make profit by not accepting certain cards and selling extra insurance, which actually is not necessary or even required by law when I have another insurance that is already covering my rental car. If I wanted to cancel my reservation, the guy from Global told me to contact CarJet and that it's too late anyways because the time of picking up the car has passed. Simply speaking - I pay 200 Euros and get a car, or don't pay, loose booking money and walk.
So in the end, it was cheaper to rent another car at the rental office right behind the wall. I have tried to get a refund from CarJet since I could not get the car because of their own unacceptable conditions, but to this date have not been able to reach Carjet to complain.
Ms. Claire Davis does not pick up the phone and there is no contact email provided. The only what you get is automatic response signed by her that they are not able to refund your money.
I will also complain to the EU consumer representations. Keep away of CarJet and Global!”
“I had the worst experience. I fully paid for a car in advance that the people working in the company never gave it to me. I was waiting for more than an hour for someone to explain to me the situation only to tell me I do not qualify for getting the car. I have tried to contract the company, they never pick up the phone and never answer to any of my emails. My lawyer is definitely going to take some legal action.”
“Simply appalling ! The web-site is cumbersome and contains confusing errors, which a little thought application could easily have remedied. I spent 2 hours trying to complete the CarJet on-line booking process (as opposed to the "3 minutes" nonsense they gleefully talk about). Having input all the details, the site takes you to the payments page, inputting my payment card details I encountered my first problem......the card "Expiry Date" field indicates a required format of "mm/yy"...well....good luck with that one ! 4 times I tried and 4 times it would only allow me to input the two digits for the expiry month, but would not accept the inputting of an expiry year; after all this time I had expended without being able to confirm the booking, I received an automated e-mail from a 'Helen' at CarJet reminding me that I still needed to complete payment. I therefore sent a reply e-mail to 'Helen' explaining the difficulties I was experiencing and requesting advice. After waiting 30 mins. for a reply, I gave up and went back in to try and complete the process again. By pure chance, I discovered that there was in fact another field box ostensibly hidden and to the right of the "mm" field box; I therefore input the "yy" and bingo ! NOTE: the required format does not follow the web-site's suggested format of "mm/yy", i.e. it requires "mm yy". Now in a lot more positive frame of mind, I was able to complete all the required payment fields et.c. and confirm the booking....but no ! I was simply taken to a blank screen which provided no confirmation or otherwise; again, I waited and waited but felt compelled to try and complete this process an additional 3 times.....to no avail. I therefore resorted to e-mailing 'Helen' once again, but after waiting another 30 mins. I gave up and asked CarJet to rescind my booking details et.c. Overall, an appalling web-site and zero customer service ! Try elsewhere !”
“Hired a car in Albufeira for 2 days , turned up to get car and because I never had a credit card and never have , could not get car , offered debit card with plenty to cover deposit but no ---called carjet to cancel or get help and after 2 hours wait on phone gave up---emailed carjet and phoned over next few days constantly with no answer --had to hire a car elsewhere and carjet have kept my 240 euros and for some reason don't respond to emails or answer their phone---Donald Grant”
“I have been looking for car rentals for my vacations and I know my averages prices for what I need, so banners are day by day bothering on my computer and when I finally go to the website, surprise! prices are more than double to get even the basic car, .. more than 800 euros per 8 days for the most basic, thiny 2 people car and also need to add the insurances!! wow!! what a scam of company!! speechless”

“I reserved a VW T-ROC (or similar) in the carjet.com site. To get the car, I was redirected to the Sur Price agency close to Porto Airport. After registration, they brought a Dacia Sandero to me.
VW T-ROC is a premium SUV, that costs about 3 times the Sandero. T-ROC has adaptative cruise control with radar, lane assist, blind spot warning, rain sensor (turns wipers on automatically), night sensor (turns lights on automaticallly), disk breaks in all whells, dual zone air conditioner with temperature control, and a 445L trunk besides lots of other things.
A new T-ROC in Portugal starts at 28 thousand euros.
Sandero is a basic car, with no one of these features, and a 328L trunk, that was not enough to my needs.
A new Sandero can be bought by around 10 thousand euros.
They're not similar at all!
When I tried to say that something was wrong, that I reserved a car that was far from what was being delivered, the attendant started shouting at me, saying that was that car or nothing. That I was calling him a liar by saying that the car I reserved was to much different from that one. I tried to show him in the internet the differences but he didn't want even to hear me or look at the cars at the internet in my phone. He standed that I would take that car or no car at all.
I needed the car for that moment. I couldn't stay without a car. So, leaving without a car was not possible for me. On the other hand, the trunk was much smaller. So, the only option I had was paying even more to receive a Renault Clio, that was an SW with a trunk bigger than the Sandero's. But this car was even worse than the Sandero. It has no parking sensors, no Android auto, no electric rear windows, smells nicotine like hell... It's the worst car I've drove in all my life.
I tried to call carjet, but they make you stay hours listening to music on the phone. When they finally answer, they said they coud not do anything, and they transfered to Sur Price Porto, that never answered the call.
And, if they answered, probably they would keep the same position they had from the beginning: a 30 thousand car is - according to their rules - similar to a 10 thousand car...
I've rent more than 10 cars in Portugal in the last months. This one was for sure the worst, the most unrespectfull experience at all.”
“Do not use this car hire firm, no contact by either email or phone. Extra costs at pick up due to the insurance sold by Carjet is not a car insurance but a personal insurance.
Car jet quoted £144, I had to pay £336 with Goldcar's insurance and taxes.
I will not use this company again and hope if you read this you also don't.

When you do they ll keep you on hold for almost an hour and exhausted your international call limit. They claim to issue vouchers that are not redeemed by their car rental partners. But I contacted them right away and they didn’t reinstate the booking even though the actual company was ok to reinstate but Carjet didn’t want to reinstate! It costed me 268 euros!

“Terrible service! Arrived for them to tell me that they’d cancelled my car & I had to pay more for a more expensive car. Then they wouldn’t take my card, so had to pay £210 extra for their insurance despite having already taken out the Platinum Excess Waiver (who didn’t re-imburse me). Got a flat tire & no-one’s answering their phone to let me know what to do. Rubbish repair kit in the boot that doesn’t work.”
“I made a booking with Carjet on March 15, 2022. Next day I had to cancel the booking due to family circumstances. The bill was 510, I got refunded the next day 139 but till now (May 9, 2022) not received the remaining 371 pounds. Car jet cannot be reached, no phone, no email...”
