“The fat slob scammer assisting me to get my car in Marrakech wanted to charge me an extra 46euro per day for 7 days before I took the car when I prepaid and took out insurance on their site. Left the slob and his car and rented another car for 25euro with full insurance included. Now I can't get my money back. AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!! AVOID!!!!!!”
“I would be very wary of using Car Jet if I were you. If your flight is cancelled or delayed for more than 4 hours you are likely to lose all your money. It sounds like a British company but when you start digging, it turns out they are located in Spain and very unwilling to negotiate or show any degree of flexibility.”
“I would not recommend, we were 30mins late to collect the car and no one was there even though the car rental place was open from 7am to 11pm but they had decided to go home without waiting. We are unable to contact carjet or the car company. I would recommend using a trusted car company that you can deal with directly.”
“Easirent Dublin Airport
From the moment we arrived at their yard I could tell this was going to be problematic.
I am safety conscious and had ordered a Citroen Grand Picasso, a car with a 5 star safety rating. What was presented to me was a Dacia Jogger (no spare wheel, no Apple Carplay, no reversing camera and no radio, manual transmission). Safety rating 1 star!!
When I challenged the staff member, I was told I had indeed ordered the Citroen, "or similar" and this is what I was getting as it is a 7 seater and similar. In my mind and that of my companions was the only similarity between the two vehicles was that they both have 4 wheels, although the Dacia was missing a hubcap.
I expressed my concern and disappointment only to be told that unless I stopped complaining I would not even get the Dacia. Due to commitments in Galway we had no option but to take it.
Furthermore, their communications after collecting the vehicle are littered with numerous warnings of things that may incur large penalties.
Overall, their premises, staff interaction and customer satisfaction are substandard and this is not a company I would definitely not use again or recommend to anyone. The old adage applies here....."There's generally a reason why things are cheap!"”
“The company is not cheap at all. I was charged double the amount mentioned in the email I received. From a price of 22.00 euros I paid 400 euros for the car. Big difference, right?”
“Worst company ever !
Do not book via Car jet they just take your money and when you arrive to pick the car they charge extra .
I called customer service to cancel the booking and they said they can't cancel it and give my money back !”
“This company is a complete scam. I was in a hire car building and observed 5 customers come I to pick up their car which didn't exist.
As for my experience I hired the car in advance of picking it up at a cost of £517.
I went to the dealership whereupon they advised me there systems were down for the foreseeable future.
I was unable to pick the vehicle up on my specified day.
I returned the following day a guess what Carjet had cancelled the booking. I couldn't pick up something that wasn't on a system that nobody could see. Apparently Carjet cancel all bookings after 4 hours if you haven't picked the vehicle up. Once more they keep your money and re-sell your vehicle to someone else. My question is, how can you get your intended vehicle when a system is down where you are supposed to be collecting it from.
Now here is the interesting part. Carjet are owned by a Spanish company and the dealership they were hiring a car through was also Spanish. Please avoid at all costs they do not respond to calls or emails. I have escalated this to my bank as fraudulent activity. I intend to put out as much publicity as I can regarding this company.”
“[CarJet ] Re: Request for Refund of Security Deposit Due to Force Majeure - Booking CJT-154687928
**After waiting a month since submitting my refund request, I finally received a response—only to have my refund denied**
My flight, FR7134 from Dublin to Palermo on 19th October 2024, was unexpectedly diverted to another city, making it impossible for me to reach Palermo and pick up the car as originally planned. Upon landing in Trapani, the car rental agency where the car was booked contacted me and even they advised against attempting to reach the Palermo airport, as it was inaccessible.
Despite these undeniable circumstances, which clearly fall under force majeure, CarJet UK have refused to refund my €54.90 deposit.
Frankly, I fail to understand how a situation entirely beyond my control—where the service I paid for was inaccessible due to events outside my power—does not warrant a refund. If such exceptional circumstances do not qualify, then I am left to question what conditions your company considers appropriate for a refund.
By denying this refund, your company is effectively keeping my money without any valid justification. While the financial loss may be minor, this experience has made one thing clear: I will never book, purchase, or recommend any service from your company again.
It would have been the first time I booked a car through your platform, and I must admit I was quite skeptical, especially regarding the insurance coverage with a deductible that, in the event of damage, would have had to be reimbursed by you .......?!?!?!
I now consider those fifty euros an investment that has informed me and, most importantly, saved me from potential even greater losses. As Sonny says in A Bronx Tale: "It costs you 20 dollars to get rid of him... He's out of your life for 20 dollars. You got off cheap. Forget him.”
“Carjet are the customer facing outfit but then you are passed onto Surprice who seem to be insurance brokers. Rude staff threatened to put me out of the mysterious transport bus to the unknown location. Nothing is clear on their voucher/terms and conditions. I left after being asked to porovide ID that I simpley do not have as all my utility bills are online, not on paper. The chap there was arrogant and threw me out of the building whilst I was trying to call for a taxi and this remote location”
“I booked a car via Carjet in Aghadir for one week. I did the booking online the night before our trip to Morocco. There were issues during the booking, because everytime I tried to book the car,my booking just didn't go through and they gave me a reference number for the problem. However eventually after trying 3 different credit cards,I used a debit card and the booking and the payment finally went through, even though on the booking website it read that my booking didn't go through,I soon received a booking confirmation and a voucher to my email address. I arrive the next day to Aghadir and according to the voucher someone should be waiting for us at the arrival gate with a sign with my name on it. When we arrived,no one was waiting for us ,so I called the number which was on the voucher and the guy who answered the phone didn't know that we have a booking. Someone soon picked us up and took us to the office, and at the office the deposit payment didn't go through,me and my wife tried multiple different credit cards and none of them worked. I offered to use my debit card for the deposit but the guy said that would increase the price for up to 70€. Eventually the guy ta the rental office suggested tous to cancel the booking and he ASSURED US that we will get a refund, he asked me to fill in a declaration form for the reason of cancellation and he asked me to to take a picture of it and send it to Carjet customer service. They drive us back to the airport, and I booked another car online from a different company using my credit card with no problem what so ever ,and we got a new car in 10 min delivered to us at the airport. I called Carjet customer service because I couldn't find their email address on the voucher, the customer service told me that I'm not entitled to refund because it passed the pickup time, they refuse to even listen to what happened. I told them I wouldn't had cancelled the booking if I knew that I wouldn't get a refund and it was suggested to me by the guy at the rental office, but it didn't changed anything.”
“Booked a Toyota corrola.
Got given a Renault 1L Tuk-tuk piece of S@!T made in India.
THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN!
4 Star safety, uncomfortable no power, utterly terrable experience.
Avoid Carjet!”
“They are the definition of theivs!!!
Refused to give me my "paid car" due to their illegal policy of not accepting Revolute Card for guarantee ALTHOUGH they had already charged the VERY SAME CARD for the main payment!!!
They REFUSED to reimburse as well!!!!!!!”
“Absolutely Scam be careful and no customer support at all
Booked a large car in izmir Turkey. They told me the car will arrive the next day and offered me a way smaller car. Not even my luggage fit in so I declined and ask for a refund of my deposit. It's now nearly 3 months, email support does not react. If I call the hotline they tell me, that they still wait for a reaction of the car dealer in Turkey to get his side of the Story. People screaming at me on the telephone and no help at all. Absolutely scam be careful please. I lost 213€ but learned the lection to never use this company again.”
