“Booking Cancelled, Refund Delayed, and Higher Prices Offered
I booked a car with CarJet (Booking Ref: PRE-180124915) at a very competitive price. The payment was processed immediately, but shortly after, I received an email saying the booking was cancelled because no cars were available.
Instead of resolving the issue properly, CarJet redirected me to their website with a “special offer” that showed higher prices than other platforms. This feels like a classic bait-and-switch tactic.
To make matters worse, although they claim to have refunded me, there is no refund in my account yet, and there is no clear way to contact customer support to resolve this.
I expect CarJet to process my refund immediately and stop these unfair practices. If I don’t receive my refund within 3 business days, I will escalate this through my card provider and report it to consumer protection authorities.

“Your provider is a rip off and when contacting you, you have sent me a message that the booking can't be cancelled or changed. The provider gave me a cancellation form and your customer services just have automated responses. I will never use your services again and block your website from my browser. Terrible how you take advantage of customers. And I was travelling with my son, so definitely ruined my first day of our holiday and overall impacted our entire week.”
“CarJet is crooked! We booked 4 cars through there service and had issues with all of them. They charged us $739 for damage to a car that was damaged upon pickup. We have photographic evidence but they still charged. They sent a damage report for another vehicle stating all four wheels were damaged. Nothing of the sort is true. This organization will not keep promises.”
“So I got my car thru CarJet (UK) to collect at Kefalonia airport last month from Green Motion RentaCar near the airport.
They wanted €800 Euros blocked on my credit card. It did state this in email with voucher sent to me before my departure but I didn't read closely. Didn't have enough money on my cards to give them this amount of money so after a lot of juggling between accounts they agreed to take €400 But charged me a non-refundable €120 before I could drive car away.
So was short of funds on holiday. Nothing wrong with car on its return so they said they would refund my €400 back onto my card. Still no sign of that money.
And if you try to contact their customer support it's hopeless. You just get some generic reply signed off by Claire Davis, a non-existent person.
Pay a bit extra and use a reputable company is my advice!”

“Took the booking an on sold me insurance through another company which has never processed a policy. There is no way to get into contact with real customer support and they keep sending you generic computer generated replies with no ability to get real assistance. When I asked for information about the insurance provider I got a generic reply that couldn’t even state the company the insurance is from. It is impossible to get a refund through this company and there is no assistance- as such I am out the price of the insurance plus the claim I have had to pay. I will never use this service again.”
“Very disappointed. After renting a car with full insurance for Greece, Zakynthos through Carjet, the operator in Greece Dirent auto requested a 1000 euro deposit as well as a 30 euro fee because we returned the car outside of opening hours. The operator in Greece Dirent Rent told us that they were not aware of the insurance concluded with Carjet, therefore we had to deposit the deposit. Since we were not prepared to pay the deposit, we lost 2 hours of our vacation”
“Rented an electric car by mistake. Website said free cancellation- beware this is not true, it’s impossible to change or cancel anything, or speak to a human. do not know how they’ve got such a high positive score. If I could give zero stars I would.”
“The staff at ANC (local agency) in Portugal were friendly, and the service was of good quality. However, we were disappointed by the miscommunication between Carjet and ANC regarding the car insurance, which resulted in us paying twice as much for the insurance as we should have. Next time, we would purchase the insurance directly from the agency instead of through the Carjet platform. This option is available and would help you avoid paying twice for the same coverage.”
“Carjet is an absolute SCAM. I booked a car for Belgrade, they didn’t have an office in amongst the many other car rental companies at the airport. There was suppose to be a representative, however, there was no one there & no contact details for the office or an agent. After I wrote back to Carjet, they still haven’t responded back & that was 3 weeks ago. Strongly recommend to stay away from Carjet.”
“At our arrival at Orlando airport we were contacted by the local manager to arrange transportation to the car. That proactive initiative was very helpful. The shuttle bus did not arrive so I contacted the manager again and without any discussion he came and priced us up in our rental. He mentioned some vibrations and decided to upgrade us. At our return we wanted to change the time a couple of hours forward. Another contact with the manager via WhatsApp. No extra cost. Well done! Happy customers.”
“What is going wrong do you mean. Booked and paid for car hire and insurance to pick up and drop off in Townsville Qld, they've put details as Toowoomba. And now I'm worried I'm going to arrive in Townsville next week to no hire car.
No go trying to contact them, absolutely disgusting customer service for a supposed reputable company.”
“We booked a car, collected it, dropped it back with no issues. Booked with Carjet but they directed us to FlexToGo to collect the car. Then a few weeks later we were charges for a second car that we supposedly booked and never collected for the same dates. Have been in contact with Carjet and they have asked for proof of car we did collect, which I provided. They still have not resolved the issue and I am down 250 euro. This has been ongoing since April. I would not trust this company.”

“It was vey back experience, I booked my car online and when I was at the rental office I was told that I need to have international drivers license which they never mentioned in their website and I always drive with my canadian drivers license in Europe
I asked to refund my money but they didnt , they charged me for the car which I never used , I even emailed them and request for refund but they refused

“The system made multiple bookings when I only tried to make one, trying to contact them has been an absolute nightmare for 1 month now and the responses from there email (which you cannot reply to) are not aligned with the questions sent and you cannot respond which is extremely frustrating.
I'm currently out of pocket for 2-3x bookings that should have never happened- Avoid at all costs!”
“Terrible to deal with and no help to us over the phone when we had to ring them due to an insurance mix up due to flight delay. We ended up having to take out new insurance on the spot twice the price - The Hertz desk advisor said he would speak to them on our phone but they wouldn't abide. They are only a third party using hertz etc so I'd recommend go direct. Alot more helpful. The advisor on the phone to us was just useless.”

CarJet sent us only the guidelines -not interested in that case, not interested is a commitment to share the cost and to support us a a customer.
We will never rent a car via CarJet in the future!!”
