“Good service but the cake was far too expensive for a tiny 6 inch that wasn't any different tasting than a supermarket cake, if anything the lemon was way too sharp and rich. Tin doesn't seal properly its loose so you can't keep it fresh afterwards. Expensive delivery. Just not good value for money, sorry.”

“Although the cakes tasted great, I am very disappointed by the service. I was able to place delivery for a day that I was later told was unavailable. When I responded to confirm the earliest date available, I was again given a day later. The birthday was on Sunday and the cakes arrived on Thursday.”

“The parcel was not delivered - address was confirmed via website and a follow up email. It may be due the parcel being sent to a Uni. Recipient was looking out for it .”

I can see you spoke to my colleague about arranging a delivery date change at 10:00am on the day of your order. As your cake had already been dispatched and due to arrive at 3pm we were unfortunately unable to reschedule this for you as mentioned by my colleague. “in my honest opinion, the cake was dry. it came on a friday night, kept in fridge and had it saturday noon time so the dryness has nothing to do with that”

The cake should be served at room temperature at which point the sponge should become light and fluffy and not be dry. We are not sure if you had stored it in the fridge, but this might explain the dry cake layers. We use all natural ingredients and we always keep our fat and sugar content to "just as much as needed to make something delicious”. In regards to your packaging feedback, it is of the upmost priority that your order arrives to you undamaged and in the condition we would expect of our products during the delivery journey. “Firstly, I would like to say that the cake was delicious, this review is no reflection on the quality of the cake. We recently purchased our wedding cake, a lovely 3 tier naked cake. It was perfect. My issue is relating purely to shipping and what I would consider to be misleading/hidden charges. Upon ordering the cake, you are given an estimate for the shipping costs, in my case, it was £9.90 (£6 in my attached example). About a week before the wedding, I received an email saying that an additional £55 was required to ship the cake - as it's 3-tier, a special delivery service is required. I questioned this additional cost and was directed to a tiny caveat buried at the bottom of the 'Delivery Options' drop down. Having already been given an estimate of £9.90 to ship the cake at the time of ordering, why would I think to then dig through the delivery T&Cs to look for these additional charges. On top of that, the small clause doesn't give any indication of how large this charge would be. As it turned out, the charge of £55 accounted for over 20% of the entire order cost. This is a simple fix, and should be updated immediately. When someone orders a cake with 3 or more tiers, the shipping costs should reflect the true cost at the time of ordering, and not a week before the delivery date. I had no choice but to pay as it was a week before my wedding and already had 101 other things to arrange and get stressed about!!! Sadly, this has really put right me off Cutter & Squidge and all those who I have mentioned this to agreed that it's not right.”

“Actually, it was disappointing. The flavour & texture both fell flat. We’ve had vegan cakes from other sources but was excited for this one as it was a special occasion- sadly it was not up there with the others. The delivery worked well though.”

“The brownies were apparently delicious (I didn't taste them as they were a gift). However they arrived more than a week late, meaning that the occasion they were meant to mark was past. The recipient lives in Forres, near Inverness, so perhaps this made delivery more challenging. However the website still claims to be able to offer designated day delivery to all of the UK. For this reason I would not recommend if delivery is time dependant.”

“I ordered this cake after reading through quite a few good reviews but I have to say was disappointed with the quality of the cake. Definitely not worth the money. Wouldn't order again.”

“The service was good and easy from order to reception, however the cake was delivered in a cardboard box instead of the metal tin - overall, the cake and delivery are quite overpriced.”

“The service we got in respect to delivery and timescales, I cannot fault. The cakes (my partner had ordered a second one a few weeks later), came one schedule. I even had to make an alteration to the wording on one of the cakes and the communication with the company was prompt The two stars is in respect to the enjoyment of the cakes. We did'nt like them. I cannot say if it was because they were frozen and had to be thawed, but the different layers stayed exactly that, separate and it just didn't gel in the mouth to make for an enticing mouthful. The second cake was a vegan one, and that was way way too sweet to eat.... I shall be sticking to fresh cakes from the nearby bakers which I can source on the day.”
