I arrived in Manchester from New Zealand via Frankfurt on 9th February 2020, my flight one of the many that was late or cancelled owing to storm Ciara. We waited almost an hour for the transfer bus, having phoned the office twice to tell them that we were waiting. On arrival the desk bloke asked why we were late (storm/flight/waiting for transfer bus) Apparently in the very immoral small print is a get out clause if you arrive over 59 minutes late. This allows the company to claim that they do not have your booked car anymore, but can offer you an ‘upgrade’ for £25 per day. Oh and they needed to hold £1600 on my credit card for potential damages!!! When I pointed out that I had paid extra for full cover I was told that “the full cover voucher” isn’t worth the paper that it’s printed on. I challenged that I had booked it through their own website, I was told no, it’s a separate company that have a link from the Easirent website. At this point I searched for a better option and left the office, with no car and out of pocket for a legitimate booking that I had made. I can only imagine that any positive feedback for these rogues are from friends and family as all the negative ones seem consistent with my experience. DONT DO IT.

Took payment on debit card and when turned up insisted that I needed a credit card. Then proceeded to charge a additional non refundable deposit from my debit card which was 200% more than the initial agreed contract. Also no where on website does it mention the fee charges for additions. Felt like I was on an episode of 'the real hustle'! Will not be using again.

I would advise anyone to avoid this company as they are complete scammers. Booked and prepaid for a car in their Edinburgh branch only to find we had been scammed out of £95 extra for no reason at all! When we objected after returning home we got absolutely no satisfactory explanation. They are the worst company we have ever had the misfortune to deal with and NEVER AGAIN!

If I could give easirent a zero I would. Please do NOT ignore the bad reviews. I did, and like so many others, ended up having to lose my deposit as easirent refused my booking without taking out about 300 pounds worth of extra insurance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

We booked a car to be picked up at 6pm. It is 7.26pm at the moment and we are still waiting. There are self-service express for customers who used their service previously, to skip the queue to collect the keys. Machines are very slow and keep freezing. After 10-15 minutes struggling with the machine we were told to wait in the queue to collect the keys!!! People run around like headless chicken! Probably the second worse service I have ever seen

WE PREFERRED WALKING AWAY WITHOUT REFUND RATHER THAN RENTING WITH EASYRENT. Horrible experience, here in Edinburgh. After telling me that I needed to come back with an unreasonable amount of extra documents and disclosing the deposit amount, Liam was absolutely useless in trying to cancel this reservation. He refused to give me the contact details of his manager.

BUYER BEWARE. BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS. I recently rented a vehicle for my trip to the UK. Previously I had used another company for my UK trips but decided to try Easirent. I was told by the operator at the time of booking that I would have to travel from Manchester (where we were located) to Liverpool to pick up the car. I asked several times if we could pick up in Manchester but was told they didn't have any available vehicles. So we made the trip all the way from near Manchester airport area to Liverpool and then arrived at a place that we were given as the address. There was a faded, hand scribbled sign on the door that indicated the company had moved and gave a new address. With great difficulty and a couple of phone calls to the company we eventually found the unit at the address we should have been given the first time. By then it was late to make alternate plans so we proceeded to go through the process to pick up the car. We were asked by the operator at the Liverpool branch why we had come all the way from Manchester when we could have picked up a car there. We explained what we had been told about having to pick up the car in Liverpool without an option to pick up in Manchester. He said he used to be the office manager for Manchester and when he checked on the computer advised us that there certainly were cars available but that they probably didn't want to give us one of the cars they had available based on the price we had been quoted. He was surprised that we were also asked to pay the 50-pound fee to return the car to Manchester when we flew home.  It was so frustrating to hear that we had just spent the last hour or so traveling in the rain from Manchester to Liverpool with a young child and a pensioner, wrangling the traffic and the wrong address, having already been traveling from Canada for the last 12 hours. After dropping me off, my dad had to drive all the way back to Manchester as well. To make matters worse, they gave us a tiny car that had significant damage in several areas and sounded like it was on it's last legs. The car had not been cleaned and there were still food crumbs all over the console and seats. It smelled terrible. The gas/petrol was virtually on empty and had just two bars left on the gage. When I started the car and proceeded to step on the accelerator to engage the gears it made a loud whirring noise, almost like a loose muffler. I actually made a video of the noise just in case anything happened to us while driving. We had no other option at this point because we were exhausted, hungry and late, and just wanted to get my daughter home. As you will see from the mileage, we barely used the car for fear that it wasn't safe or reliable, however, we were mostly frustrated that we were made to travel to Liverpool and then pay the 50-pound return to Manchester fee on top! They ignored emails, refused to reimburse the 50 pound transfer fee and have been ruse and unprofessional. CHOOSE ANOTHER CAR HIRE PLACE, IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK OR HASSLE.

The Easirent agency at Dublin airport offers shuttles to the site outside of the airport only every 30 min. There are no return shuttles! Not in the same place as other agencies, as they apparently have been evicted from the airport. At return of the car, the agent found 2 minuscule "dents" on the windscreen. They were invisible to the driver, even though directly in the line of sight. This cost over EUR 200. Avoid.

I hire from Easirent at least once a month. Danny at Gatwick is really helpful, professional and friendly. I’ve never had a bad experience with any of the Easirent team and I’ve hired from Heathrow, Luton and Gatwick regularly over the last 3 years. The cars are always clean and they do exactly what they say they’ll do. Service with a smile always.

Thankfully caught on to all the "extra" charges that they have hidden in the terms and conditions and was able to cancel the booking. Make sure to have the insurance before booking though, or they charge you the full fee for cancelling apparently! Full insurance though so it only cost £6. The mandatory/extra charges are in the small print, and btw the cancellation charges aren't anywhere so you're snookered there. Clearly they price cheap to get the customers and then slam you with extra charges when you're locked in. Absolutely shady business practices, company should be ashamed.

I booked a car rental for London Stansted through Sunny Cars (paid at the time of booking), unaware that this was in fact an Easirent rental. The voucher received from Sunny Cars clearly states that the rental price includes insurance cover. Upon arrival in Stansted I travelled to the car rental village by shuttle bus only to discover that there was no Sunny Cars or EasiRent desk there. I then called the telephone number given to me and was asked to wait outside for collection. I did so in freezing night-time temperatures with my wife and young daughter and approximately 20 minutes later a car arrived and brought us to a relatively remote location (a further 10-15 minutes away) in a small industrial estate. I was then asked to put an additional charge of €151.97 (126 pounds sterling) on my credit card and my understanding was that this was a security deposit which would be fully refunded upon return of the car in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel. The car was returned in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel! Upon receipt of my credit card statement some time later I realised that this sum has not been refunded. My wife called EasiRent head office and was told that since this is a third party rental agreement the additional cost (3 times higher than the original rental cost!!) is an insurance charge!!! This represents an extreme case of misleading if not downright fraudulent activity as the car rental cost €213.97 instead of the €62 advertised (4 times higher than the cost at which we booked the car!!) I have rented many cars over the years and this is the first time such a scenario has arisen. May I also say that the service representative my wife spoke with in EasiRent was most unhelpful and verged on being rude. He continuously asked her what her problem was!?! I contacted Sunny Cars who opened an ‘investigation’ and came back to me over 3 weeks later to say that the credit card I had used to book the car with did not work for the deposit and that I had signed off on the additional charge of €151.97 as an ‘additional insurance’ and would thus NOT be refunded. At no time was this made clear to me. The credit card in question is a corporate American Express card so to claim it ‘did not work’ is ludicrous. Also it was not made clear that this €151.97 was non-refundable. I was led to believe that it was a deposit which would be refunded upon return of the car. Sunny Cars claimed that I had ‘opted’ to go with ‘additional insurance’ and that for this reason it would not be refunded. This is untrue! I am most dissatisfied with the outcome of this entire experience and feel I have been conned out of €151.97 by EasiRent/Sunny Cars. Scamming customers and/or working in partnership with a dodgy business entity is no way for a reputable company to conduct their business affairs! I would advise potential customers to stay away from these shoddy operators!

The shuttle didn't show up and their contact number for Dublin airport doesn't work. Absolute scam, use any other car rental besides this one.

Very poor experience. Would not use them again. They were that bad I would not use them again even if they gave me a free car hire.

I was unfortunate to have Kevin from Glasgow branch . He was aggressive and rude and took great pleasure in charging £570 for a tiny chip on windscreen... Which was there when we picked up the car . Myself and my 10 yr old daughter were very upset to have used Easirent . We will not forget this very unpleasant experience and will do as much as possible to let people know about this bunch of crooks in a shonky car yard in Glasgow .

Go to these pirates at your peril. They will take you for all they can. Charged £1800 for bringing the car back with muddy cat paw prints over the bonnet. Had the car booked for 8 days but brought back after 3 as no longer needed it. Not only did they have the extra five days rental out of me they also kept my deposit for washing the car BE WARNED !!!!!!

Upon arrival at Easirent Kings Cross it was revealed there were no cars available - despite pre-payment and on time arrival. The excuses given were very flimsy and there was almost no apology for the inconvenience caused. The person working in the store was unhelpful and dismissive of my complaints. It took me nearly two months to get a refund on my payment and required chasing multiple times. Excuses given were that they were working through a backlog of refund - not a good sign! I received no written confirmation of my cancellation and I entirely expected to never get it back. I'm unclear how an organisation can continue to operate with such systems that can allow for there to be no cars available to customers who have paid to rent one. Service was terrible, people were unhelpful and rude, refund was extremely slow. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Absolutely to avoid. Rented through Ryanair, never had problems before with other companies. Used the East Midlands Airport's branch, they are not at the airport, not even close like all the others, the experience is dodgy, they require an outrageous £1500 deposit held on your credit card, and after picking up the car you're left with the awful feeling that they will try to rip you off when you're going to return it. they had the guts to tell me a stone chip on the bonnet would cost about £500 because they send the car off to be fixed EVERY time they have a body damage, no matter how small...I then proceeded to carefully inspect the car and found 9 (NINE) chips on the front and 5 (FIVE) on the back! I required them to write every one of them on the damage report and a couple more just for reassurance. I then returned fueled and immaculate and got all my deposit back, but I would never want to have the same experience before. I must have rented 150 cars in my life, first time with them and they were the worst.

I hate renting a car these days. Here is yet another rip-off company. Booked a car via RyanAir (have previously had positive experiences booking via Ryan Air). Only when I am printing out the details to take with me, did I notice in the small print that they require a £1.350 deposit to be left on my credit card. This, despite contracting the full extra insurance with them. I absolutely hate these companies that put all these abusive clauses in their rental contracts. £1.350 deposit for a 2 day car hire - ridiculous,
