“Excellent service and ongoing customer care”

“Ordered new number plates plus fitting, said collect 1 hour. Went to collect 3 hours later to be told that I have to wait for them to be made, then tell me the fitting charge does no cover the cost of the the four screws needed this would be an extra charge. So the fitting charge of almost £10.00p is the cost to drill two holes. Told them cancel the fitting will do it myself. Wished I had ordered elsewhere where fitting is included in the price. No hidden charges, disappointed.I ordered these online click and collect was given 10% discount, not given at paypoint though.”

“After lots of research on mountain bikes and bike racks for my car, I gave up and went to Halfords' store in Chelmer Villiage. They not only have a great selection across a range of prices, but they have friendly and helpful staff who fit the bike rack and serviced my new bike there and then. Superb customer service and products which made life a lot easier! 5 stars!”

“Just returned a bike less than 12mth old with a broken free wheel hub to be told the warranty does not cover moving parts absolute joke was not told this info when purshased they want £50 to repair it do not buy bikes from halfords.”

“Put my car in for its MOT at Halfords Oxford (autoparts) and was very anxious about being a woman and maybe getting ripped off. Was very pleased with service and cost efficient repair before getting my pass certificate. Was worried about rip off prices and fabricated problems but all seemed well!”

“Purchased online - got delivered and found it to have a broken spoke. I don't live close to a store so I sent an email - got ignored, sent two more and finally got a reply. Its been over a week and after spending 3 days waiting for a courier to collect faulty wheel I am told that they have to collect the whole bike and I have to package it up. I no longer have the packaging as I was never told the bike had to be returned not just the wheel. I still have a bike and not able to use it. I am now told by the more than useless customer service I have to return the bike to a not very close store to get it resolved. This bike was poor quality but the customer service was the worse I've ever had. I will never purchase anything from Halfords or recommend them to anyone”

“I went to halfords in sunderland for a wheel service and a spoke replacement. The spoke they fitted was a different colour to the rest and snapped on my next ride out. No pride in thier job the bike mechanic didnt even know the names of certain parts! Then they charged me £26 pound for a 50p part. Stay away, support your local bike store it will be a lot cheaper and the job will be done right.”
