Bought a car battery, but cancelled an order due to wrong delivery option. Spoke to customer service, who advised me all was cancelled, but battery arrived anyway and I was charged. Since this moment for 2 weeks after a lot of conversations and emails to customer service regarding collecting a battery and refund - STILL NOTHING!!! They even don't bother to reply on my emails. AVOID this company if only you not ready for stress and headaches dealing with them!!!

Brought a pendleton bike in Mar 2016, pre leaving store checks not done, then guy broke a part putting in my car! 6 week check left with a broken gear shift & gears out of alignmnet had to get another store to fix FOC. Then go to order a part after a small collision - 5 working days 4 people & still no resolution. Extremally POOR customer service, no empahy, no common sense, no courtsey calls, no explanations, a whole load of red tape, Selling bikes they cant get the right parts for. DIABOLICAL IS PUTTING IT LIGHTLY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!

I experienced a fantastic service at the new Halfords Autocentre on Hook Road in Kingston. I phoned them 30 minutes before they closed after finding both my front light bulbs had gone just as I was about to drive home from work in the dark. They were friendly over the phone and said to come as soon as I could. The whole job was completed within no time at all. They didn't even make any comments about all the rubbish in my car, of which garages usually comment on! A faultless service. I will definitely be using them in the future.

Went to get my battery changed on my Discovery 3. Was told it is not the battery, so I ordered alternator. (Expensive) Next day after charging my battery overnight, car started once, drive for a bit then died, making me think they were correct about alternator. Called RAC, Guy tested battery, told me battery has dead cell, needs to be changed, he tested the alternator for me with volt meter and output was rock solid. Changed Battery, has worked fine ever since. Now have a very expensive spare alternator gathering dust.

I would just like to say that Gemma at the redditch branch is a absolute star!! She is a credit to halfords. I purchased a electric scooter on click and collect from store and she called me to tell me it was out of stock. She then searched all other stores for me and found one, collected it for me and called to say she had it in store for me now. Fantastic customer service and she should be awared for this, there is not many people who would go out there way for others. A credit to the company!!! Excellent service x

My husband went into the Reading Rose kiln lane store, and the staff were rude and unhelpful. After speaking to many people everyone agrees it should close down

Recently had to have car bulb replaced. Went to Halfords at Sutton Surrey. A very professional service done by a fitter Tracey. She was quick and efficient. Done in their open car park, was dark, cold and pouring with rain. This adverse weather did not detract from her polite and cheerful disposition as she got on with the job, and even took the extra step of checking the other car bulbs. I would thoroughly recommend this branch and their staff, for a job well done.

Ordered bronze bicycle service + change of one wheel. When picking up the bike, brakes and gear didn't work properly. After the employee told me that this is within their standards I couldn't believe it! After 45 min waiting time he adjusted it, but after 2 days problems have appeared again. Very disappointed!

I am disabled following injury working in the emergency services and was struggling to get into my local Halfords 7 miles away at Arbroath. Mike at the branch went out of his way, literally, to drop the item off to me in person on his way home from work. I don't think this is a regular or official service. However, it does show how very decent the team at Halfords are. Thank you from the heart. P.S, I think Mike deserves a modest raise

Fantastic service at Burgess Hill Halfords today. Andy was so helpful and knowledgeable with helping us buy a car seat for my granddaughter . He checked it was suitable for our car , checked our granddaughter was happy in the seat . He spent time explaining and ensuring we were happy with the seat . Totally recommend this wonderful service . Left with the knowledge that our granddaughter is safe and happy . Thank you Andy and Burgess Hill Halfords .

I ordered a childs car seat, and paid a fee for next day delivery. They failed to deliver it eventually we rang them and they told us it would be delivered in three days time! We cancelled the order, and purchased it elsewhere. However three days later they delivered it to our neighbour. We rang and told them and they stated WE would have to return it. I explained this was not our problem, it was all their responsibility. They then disclosed they had not refunded our credit card when we cancelled the item and were not going to do so until we returned the seat that they had delivered to our neighbours, they said they would collect it but only from us and we had to go online and fill in a returns note! Further having wasted a whole day waiting for a delivery they expected us to wait another day for a courier to collect it. They seemed unable to understand as we had cancelled it three days before delivery it was not actually our problem. Paul Cook

Tried twice to collect a parcel delivered by DPD, it was held to ransom for either a passport or drivers licence - I didn't have either just cards like the other shops accept. Explained not everyone holds a drivers licence or a passport plus Halfords are not border control and if a parcel can be left with a neighbour then why photo id?? What are they checking it against?? Anyway, DPD advised Halfords to get parcel sent back and use a different shop that wasn't so strict. Twice in one week that myself and my husband have been put off the Harlow branch - him through incorrect car advice. Will be going elsewhere in the future

Took my carrera kraken in to get a spoke replaced on rear wheel. When i collected my bike , granted the spoke had been replaced, but i found a wide range of faults that had occured in the time that they were in possession of my bike. Firstly the seat had been highered to its full extent which i found strange. On closer inspection i noticed that the dust cap and locking nut were missing from the rear wheel. A plastic holding clip which secures the brake cable to the top horizontal bar had been removed and i discovered that i had a slow puncture in BOTH tyres!!!! The bike would have probably been returned to me in better condition if i had asked my 4 year old nephew to fix it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Took my car in for MOT as there was a half price offer, it failed on rusting suspension arm bushes and ' dangerously ' high oil level. Took it to mechanic recommended by my family who said he wouldn't have failed it just given an advisory. £245 later I'd saved £27 on MOT. Went back to Halfords to book retest and booked free retest for yesterday , so took it in, signed paperwork and waited 20mins to be told that the ten day retest period ended the day before and I needed a full MOT. Quite why I wasn't told this when they booked it in I don't know. Feel like I have been taken for a ride throughout.

Went to Halfords Bolton branch today to have set of number plates made + fitted. It was raining and the young lad was adament the sticky pads would hold the new reg plates securely. He was also certain no need to bother to clean the area with the cleaning wipes as he'd been doing this for four years. The area were the plates were being fixed was still wet so I told him the pads wouldnt stick. He continued so the pad fell off. I unfortunately then told him that I f in told you they wouldn't stick....He then childishly ranted that I'd swore at him then ran in the store + disapeared. I was given no apology or explanation from the manager other than 'did I want to buy the plates without being fitted'. Im 63 yrs old and disabled and to be treated like this is disgraceful. Two staff members prior this incident was calling this young lad for his incompetence but it seems I had to accept his poor attempt of fixing adhesive pads to a wet surface. Pathetic. The actual plates are good but having them fitted at Halfords is NOT recommended. I had to pay £35.98 for two standard reg plates. Not cheap. Now I have to have them fitted elsewhere. Absolutely disgraceful + shoddy behaviour. Im disgusted with Halfords Bolton. Shame on you.

Sold an ex display bike found a chip in paintwork. Had to travel to cribbs 3 times for them to fix it. In meantime had problem with the chain jumping which chipped more paint work. Took into stroud branch they told me chain was fine. It was not. Now I've been holding on complaints after 3 attempts of caING in excess of 15 mins.
