Dishwasher Installation Disaster – I Had to Do It Myself I purchased a Maytag dishwasher from Home Depot along with professional installation. The installers showed up, took one look at the space, and walked away — citing “missing side panels” as their reason. These were cosmetic trim pieces, not structural or code-related. My home was inspected just weeks before (April 2025) and passed with zero electrical or code issues. The previous dishwasher had been installed and working in the exact same space for years. After multiple follow-ups and vague excuses, I had to install the dishwasher myself — with no professional training. It’s now working perfectly. There was nothing preventing their team from doing the job except a lack of desire to do it. Home Depot has yet to issue a refund for the service I paid for, nor have they taken accountability for the experience. I wasted time, lost work, and got ghosted by their customer care team after being told a manager would “review” it. That was days ago. I highly advise others to think twice before trusting Home Depot for appliance installation. If it’s not 100% cookie-cutter, they’ll leave it behind and vanish.

I ordered a sectional sofa from Home Depot online. It was shipped quickly but in 3 deliveries coming from GA, NJ and CA. I then got an email giving us 3 different days for delivery of each part and that they were using FedEx for delivery. This was for my daughter who lives on a second floor. FedEx do not carry things into a home. At the time of ordering this was not mentioned. Nor was the fact that the sectional sofa was coming from 3 different places and would have 3 different delivery days so my daughter would have to take 3 days off work. I phoned Home Depot and was told tough. We can deliver it how we like. Then they blamed the vendor that they got it from and I could try contacting them to get one delivery. I said that as their customer they are responsible wand I asked them to contact the vendor. He said no. And they would not contact FedEx either. The customer service rep was rude and did not care. Everytime I have tried to get deliverires from Home Depot it has been a problem. They have the worst delivery system and the worst online customer service. There is absolutely no way will I ever buy a product for delivery from them again. I have bought sofas and other furniture over the years many times and everyone has always delivered them in one delivery. Plus all furniture has been carried into the home. Home Depot has no place in the furniture business if they do not deliver in a way that every other company does. There are many other businesses out there who would love the business.

If I could give a 0, I would. We purchased a door on March 24 and was told that it would take 8-10 weeks. We are still waiting for someone to let us know what's going on. When I called, they are telling me that we agreed to 3 to 4 months. There's no way we would have agreed to that because we do not have a front door and we explained that to them at the time of purchase. We were given a date of May 29th and it's now June 3, hurricane season and nothing. A very angry customer who has used HD for years.

I have waited now for a week for a dehumidifier to come in only to be told that it was damaged and now I will not get it. My concern is, why is it that everything you get anymore is either damaged, broken, or lost. You go to the store you can’t buy anything from the store anymore. You have to wait till it is shipped to you which it never comes. This is so sad the shape that the United States has gotten into. I just don’t understand so disappointed in Home Depot.

I should have known better with the experience I had before but I gave them a second chance. Once again delivery not made when promised, and they even said they tried but they never did. Never again

I wanted to report very bad customer service at Home Depot. We purchased a stove in April and bought a duel fuel by mistake. We opened it this week to install and realized our mistake. We were transferred around to different online and phone customer service lines in an attempt to exchange it with the intention of purchasing a replacement oven from Home Depot and ultimately were told to go to a store. That proved to be wasted time because no one would help us there either. We have a brand new oven that cannot be used. We have been longtime customers and have bought many items at Home Depot through various renovations and the lack of customer service has been very frustrating. We are now out $2000 and we look to buy the oven and all future purchases elsewhere. The most frustrating part was the way they passed us around to multiple people without any resolution. No one seemed to know what they were doing.

I order something and was waiting for it. Then I read an email stating it will not be delivered. So I call and I was told they had to get it from another store. So it was rescheduled for the same day. I wait for hours. After looking at and email for an update my ordered was canceled. This is unacceptable. I won’t be ordering anything else from them.

I paid 2800usd for curtains, after 2 months I hadn't received them (after calling many times and they kept saying it was delayed but that I would eventually receive them). I had to open a complaint, then finally they said that in fact I was NOT going to receive the curtains. You would expect they would immediately refund me, but NO, been on the phone with the 3rd person trying to get my money refunded. Completely in shock with the horrible service and bad business practice. NEVER AGAIN.

Bought a table for an event two weeks away. Was supposed to come 10 days in advance. Date was pushed THREE times. Missed the event. We had to rent tables. When we asked to just cancel our order so we could find a new table we were told it wasn't possible. Not in store. Not on phone. They flat out refused to cancel our order and the only option they gave us was to bring the massive table we were having delivered to the store to return to get our money back. Almost a month later. Still no table in sight.

I hired Home Depot to complete a closet design and installation. They sent three different people to take measurements, then designed a system based on those measurements. I paid in full per their requirements. After months of waiting for parts with no updates (I had to follow up constantly), I finally scheduled the install. I took time off work, only to be called 30 minutes before the end of the window and told the installation wouldn’t happen. When the installer arrived anyway, he said the design wouldn’t work with the space. He promised a redesign within a week—this never came. Despite multiple calls and messages to the installer, the sales rep, and managers, I received no response. After two months of silence, I hired another provider to complete the job. When I asked for a refund, Home Depot kept 35% of the payment, claiming I canceled the job—even though they could provide no evidence of a cancellation or redesign ever being sent. This is unacceptable. Home Depot failed to complete the work, failed to communicate, and then refused to issue a full refund. I’m seeking the return of the 35% withheld for services not rendered.

I made a purchase of flooring material as well as contracted to use home flooring company.. I cancelled the company and used my own company as well as some of the materials… I return the materials and was to be refunded 243 dollars. The clerk did the transaction and the computer printed the receipt but the register wouldn’t open for me to get the cash and that was earlier in the year the Sunday following Donald trump swearing in…. Today I still don’t have that refund and I have been going to Homedepot multiple times and everybody acts like they don’t know….. I loose courage in shopping at Home Depot and I will still follow up because that is a lot of money for me as a single mother raising three minor kids on my own

i would give zero stars if i could. Applied for credit card based on HD stating no credit inquiry would be done and they in fact lied. Almost immediately i received a notification from Credit Karma that THD/CBNA did process a HARD INQUIRY. Very disappointed in your shoddy business practice and i guess that is how you assign a 29.99% interest rate. Already reached out to state attorney general. THD did not have my consent to run a hard inquiry and I would not have even pursued this had THD stated that one would not be performed.

I am so disgusted with home depot. We ordered a starlink router because it would be delivered upnorth on time while we were up there. The delivery date kept changing. I made numerous calls to get this resolved. They all lied about everything. Now trying to get it picked up and returned back to the store. Spent over an hour and fifteen minutes and still no resolution. The worst process ever. The box was suppossed to be picked up 2 days ago, still nothing. All lies, rude managers. People don't understand what you are saying

I ordered a generator which was delivered prior to the expected delivery time but it was delivered at the bottom of the hill I live on. It's about 200 yds uphill to my house. The generator weighs 200 lbs and it wasn't possible to reload into a truck due to the weight. I had to drag the pallet/generator 200 yds up a steep hill using a hand truck. I will never order a heavy item through Home Depot for delivery again. I would have been better of picking it up from the store. No other carrier has left a delivery at the bottom of my hill.

About a 6 weeks ago or a little more I received a $20 coupon in the mail from HD if I spend $100. I had just spent over $400 on fencing, concrete and some plants. So I decided to go buy things for my law, bug spays and things like that would last me for the season. I went through the self check out and one of your employees helped me as I wasn’t sure how to apply the coupon to my purchase. My purchase was only $93 I was advised so I went and bought something else for $10 to bring my purchase to $103. He then scanned my coupon and I paid my bill. I didn’t look at the receipt until I got home and my receipt showed that the coupon was scanned but it never deducted the $20 coupon from my purchase. I didn’t worry about it because I am always at HD buying something and figured I would show it to the store my next trip in. I was out of town for a few weeks and went in and showed my receipt to the return dept or customer service dept. He tried to make it right and could not figure out how to credit my account $20 and told me that he thought it would deduct off of my bill as I paid with my HD card. The bill came to my house a week or so later and the $20 was not deducted. Still no problem as I shop at HD a lot and figured my next trip in I would show them again what had happened and yet again he could not figure out how to credit my account the $20. After 10-15 I left as my wife was waiting in the car and I thought it would be fast. A few days later I went back again and by now we were friends as he was a very nice man so he called the manager and the manager told him to call someone which he did. They could not figure out how to give me a credit so he called the manager again and to be honest he didn’t want to deal with the issue. During this whole process I was never, not once rude with any of your employees. I am 69 years old and have shopped with HD almost exclusively since my early 20’s when I was in the building trade. I have probably spent 75-100 k with HD over the years. Last year I purchased carpet from your Twin Falls, ID store at around 4K and I have been in 3 times to get a $20 credit!! REALLY!!!! I will continue to shop HD as I am not a spiteful man but I will give more business to Lowe’s as they are closer anyway. I didn’t write this to get anyone in trouble as the Service Dept was very friendly but really 3 trips to not get a $20 credit when I have the receipt to show that the credit was scanned but never given. Wow I was a Branch Manager for almost 30 years of a business and my customers were the reason I got a pay check and they were King. I lost money many times to make things right with them if they felt my team had made a mistake or wronged them in any way and to be honest we kicked butt by doing the right thing. Farmington Hills store! I ordered sink & faucet online to pick up in store! Sink was NOT Delivered to store! Store could not tell me when I could come back to pick up sink! So Frustrating I was on the phone all day because contractor was here to install! Store Manager transfer me to someone who said she did not know what to do. & Manager would not get back on phone to help me. Told her to figure it out ! Need training! Know I have to reorder for different companie! Do better Home Depot ! Train the Manager & better tracking for orders!

Bought Sears warranty from Home Depot for a Samsung washer. Washer bearing went out last year before Christmas 2024. Sears Warranty sends out tech the day before Christmas. Tech reports bad bearing and we wait for warranty to schedule service. January scheduled service no one shows Richard, AI virtual assistant reports "due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to have a technician available today to service your appliance" 6 scheduled appointments and the same no show from techs due to unforeseen circumstances. Called Home Depot and they told us to call Samsung, we bought the warranty and washer from Home Depot. Do not purchase any appliance warranty from Home Depot. They don't support the warranty they sell or the appliances. We now purchase our appliances from Lowe's and they have their own warranty service department.

I tried to call Home Depot about an item. I could only speak to an AI bot. I wasted my whole night because I was sent bad information by their lousy AI BS. When I call Menards I can talk to a person, I'll go to Menards from now on. I got bad information that inconvenienced me at Home Depot from stupid Artificial "Intelligence."
