“Fraud company. Says parts warranty for 10 years after registration. Then when you call them, they say 1 year. Also don't have spare parts for washing machine I bought just over 12 months. Wants me to pay 160 £ for engineer visit to fix a simple hinge, which can be done by anyone. Surprised how they are allowed to do business in the UK.”
“Hoover Refused to Honour 10-Year Parts Guarantee
I am extremely disappointed with Hoover's handling of my warranty claim and the overall lack of accountability. I purchased a Hoover WDXOA4106HCB washer dryer specifically because of the advertised 10-year parts guarantee, which I registered after purchase.
When my machine failed in June 2024, I contacted Hoover to arrange a repair under the guarantee. I agreed to pay for labour, but was later told no engineers were available in my area (despite living in Central London). I was then passed back and forth between Hoover and Domestic & General (D&G), with no one taking responsibility. I repeatedly explained that I had no insurance policy, only the parts guarantee - but still, nothing was done.
After months of back and forth and numerous emails, Hoover finally admitted that a mistake on their end caused the confusion. Yet their response was:
“We have thoroughly reviewed your case and identified that an error contributed to the confusion as Domestic and General showed a live plan for your machine. We are truly sorry for this… However, due to the age of your machine and the lack of service coverage in your area, we are unable to provide further assistance."
In other words, they admitted their error, but still refused to help.
Hoover's customer service has been appalling—slow, evasive, and dismissive—and they have failed to honour their own guarantee. I had no choice but to buy a new machine out of pocket. I will now be escalating this to Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, and the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman (FHIO), and I strongly caution others against trusting this brand.”
“I purchased a under counter fridge and freezer , after 13 months the fridge would not get cold enough to keep food from going off. Contacted the retailer( Currys) they said out of warranty after 12 months contact manufacturer, I did this and was informed by Candy customer services that there products are only guaranteed for 12 months. So if you only want a product to ladt for 12 months then this is the company to go too,if on the other hand you want a good quality product GO TO ANOTHER MANUFACTURER”
“After my hoover washing machine stopped working I contacted the hoover candy repair site and an engineer was sent promptly and diagnosed that the motor and pump needed replacing so would order the parts and return to fix.. nearly a month later this has not been resolved despite emails to hoover and the company they gave the call out to D and G services. I have been ping ponged back between both companies with each blaming the other for the delay. Unfortunately I signed to a Care plan at the start of the process so I’m locked in or stand to lose the money. Worst customer service I have ever encountered, so frustrating it feels almost like a scam.. They take your money and don’t deliver”

Bought a brand new kitchen, all appliances bought at the kitchen companies recommendation - Hoover/Candy - Double Oven, Gas on Glass Hob, Glass extractor fan, integrated dishwasher and integrated 70/30 fridge freezer.
30 days in and after only about 7 uses, the double oven has blown itself to bits. Candy argue the toss about the day the item was delivered and not the day it was installed so argue it's 32 days old therefore not eligible for the right to refuse a repair.
Customer service line was playing a "technical difficulties message" asking customers to WhatsApp with no reply for the almost 3 days over Xmas. Part cooked food thrown in the bin and left with no oven whilst they decide to "repair" the appliance (which can take up to 28 days) mean whilst I have a pregnant wife and a young child with allergies that means not all food can be thrown together in an air fryer.
It's hard to comprehend that a company of this size has no complaints procedure and no team to deal with them, just customer service representatives to say "sorry for the inconvenience" and offer no real, timely resolutions.”
“Zero stars. In under 2 months the appliance has fused the electrics. Apparently it needs a new PCB or PCP board. How can an allegedly new item break in such a short time? What kind of quality control do they have. Company won’t replace as it’s outside the 28 day period. Elderly lady now living in fear of it and having to use launderette. This company is now owned by a multi-national company based in China. Unsurprisingly being a multi-national they take no responsibility for producing faulty, potentially dangerous equipment.”
“Noisy water valve in the machine. Thump is heard throughout the house. Engineer said it’s a known fault but currently no replacement part has been developed. Asked for refund as the noise is awful. Apparently engineer has completed his report saying nothing wrong with the machine! So going round and round in circles with emails to them, they ignore my questions, will not escalate, appalling service.”

“Hoover candy VAC Free 500 model. Lasted just over one year and they gave a PX for new machine. Re chargeable battery died after 18 months, blocks up very easily and you have to did the blockage out. Very Very noisy and putting the very small dust container back in place is tricky. Telephone staff not very happy or helpful and replacement battery expensive. We went for this machine as it is light to use and will stand on its own when leaving it in the middle of use.”

Washing machine rubber split , the guy came and looked told me a week and then cancelled on me , then showed uk a week later , said he’d fixed it , smoke and burning rubber smell bellowing out the machine , they somehow managed to give me a new problem !!! “My Hoover induction hob has been malfunctioning for the past 4 weeks. It will turn itself off or up to maximum heat, which has almost burn my kitchen down and certainly burnt my food if left for a few minutes unattended. Serious safety issue to my home.
