Shocking service, bought a Ralph Lauren T-shirt online, got an email saying my order had been dispatched then got an out of stock email. Went online still in stock so emailed, after a week no response so ordered again as still in stock again got an email saying my order had been dispatched followed by another email saying out of stock! Emailed several times to complain and say I still want the T-shirt remained in stock on the website but they never reply. Awful service. I’ve spent thousands over the years. No wonder they’re going down hill and shops are closing. They do not care for their customers only how much money they can take. I’m taking my custom elsewhere. Can’t wait to see you all close down!

Purchased a 100ml bottle of creed Aventus at £250 that was clearly faulty. Phoned the Uk distributor for creed who were no help whatsoever. Phoned HOF in Guildford and spoke to a girl called Amber who advised me to come to the shop which I did and she swapped it over with no hassle or aggravation whatsoever ...it’s a pity there is not more like her in todays retail industry where I tend to find that average service seems to be a given ? Full marks for service at house of Fraser Guildford....

I ordered 5 items totalling £300 plus and was blown away by the speed in which the order arrived. I live in Seychelles and having thought I would receive the order in 10-15 days, was blown away that I received the order in only 4.5 days! Well done House of Fraser, seems you have a great logistics/postage partner, I’ll shop with you again and thanks for shipping to the beautiful Seychelles islands!

Criminal returns policy Unable to return via the store and will have pay for postage. just so they can put you off returning items. Will not use again. no wonder they are closing down.

Visited the Guildford Store today and totally agree with the other reviews here regarding the store and service. Bought two items from MaxMara for a not insignificant sum and although the assistant who served me was very good the other staff member kept interrupting her with questions regarding their customer and another was chatting away on the telephone clearly regarding work but still very intrusive. The clothes were then put into a tatty House of Fraser plastic bag. I expect when paying that kind of money to be provided with a Max Mara bag. I know some people may think that irrelevant but when you are spending that amount of money you want it to be a good experience from trying on the clothes to the cash desk. We then went to the Shoe Department where the attitude and level of service were poor (apart from the Dune concession assistant who appeared to be the only one working and concerned about customer service) - we walked out in the end. Most of the sales floors did not look too bad but the top floor with all its sports wear entirely inconsistent with what we have come to expect from House of Fraser. Clearly Mike Astleys attitude to business is filtering down to the shop floor. We have always enjoyed shopping at this store for the last fifteen years and it is sad to see it declining like this. The Harrods of the High Street? Not in a million years - and like other reviews here will not be surprised if its not gone within the next couple of years.

I used to enjoy shopping in House of Fraser but the service is now third rate. I ordered a pair of bridal shoes online for £79 but they certainly weren't worth that much! The quality of the material was poor and the holes for the buckle looked like they'd been punched with a pin as part of a DIY job. They weren't packaged nicely at all and looked like someone with rather dirty feet had been trying them on. Of course, HoF don't make it easy to return goods. Customers have to print off the returns label (not easy if you don't have a printer) and then pay for postage. If you choose to return the goods in store then you are given store credit. If you chose to 'click and collect' you are still expected to pay £4.99 (the same amount as delivery to your door). The interior of the store nearest me (in a busy and affluent market town) looks positively apocalyptic as there were less than a dozen customers (or so it appeared) shopping in there on a Saturday during the January sales. One of the floors had hardly any stock on it! Advice to HoF: Drastically improve your shoddy service to win back customers or risk going into administration again!

There is no customer service to speak to, although online it says there is. Also an email adddress to write to but as a staff member told me, don’t wait for a reply you won’t get one. Still waiting since Dec! Went to guildgord and Richmond branches, all good brands gone, just usual high street brands plus sports direct footwear. What a shame, HofF was a lively store.

So Mike Ashley intends to transform House of Fraser into "the Harrods of the high street", or so he says!! Well he needs to start with customer service. Trustpilot says 84% terrible and mostly because of the appalling returns policy they now have under the stewardship of Mr Ashley. Others have said how this now works, so I don’t need to repeat the system of paying postage both ways and if you take goods to the store you don’t get your money back, you get a credit note to spend only in store. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE !!! Unless you really know you want the goods and they will fit you. Having visited the Sheffield store it was nothing like the HoF I once knew. More like a jumble sale than a quality store. Gone have the nice kitchen items and replaced by tatty sales stuff. The men’s department was full of high-end clothing at high end prices or cheap clothing that went out of date 10 years ago. Well if this is the future of HoF it will go like others have done - down the pan. If it is going to survive it needs to think online and customer service. Especially it’s returns policy. I for one will never use the service again. I advise others to do the same. On a positive note the staff at the returns desk did all they could to help and in a professional way. Just a great shame that the company policy gets in the way of the staff providing what customers want. Profit before customer service will always see a company get bad reviews. House of Fraser certainly are getting bad reviews so just perhaps they will listen to their ex-customers. Bed reviews leads to customers walking away and telling others. Good bye HoF.

I had such a wonderful time here. The girls helped me a lot when looking for an outfit for a wedding I have coming up. They were really good at finding me stuff based on what I said I liked and good at tracking down the right sizes for me to try on. I left feeling like a really valued customer.

Since HOF has been taken over, I experienced meanness, during a sad traumatic time for me. Friend bought me Voucher, Not realizing company was taken over...I do not watch the news......My Beautiful Mom passed away suddenly. When I was finally ready to spend my voucher and treat my self putting it towards a beautiful red coat, I was informed at till I could no longer use it, I tried in Sports Soccer, who took the company over, to also be told NO! I was over the date that they were Honoring vouchers. I emailed company and appealed to their compassion....they said NO! disgraceful, it would of been nothing to there to redeem £10 but meant everything to me especially as my Beautiful Friend bought it to cheer me up. Very disappointed in their attitude My family friends use to shop there ..never again now!

I ordered online and paid with a gift voucher. A few days later I received an email to say that part of my order had been cancelled, 3 items that were on sale! The email stated that I would receive vouchers that can only be used online! I only received a voucher back for £39 when it should have been £69. I have tried to contact HoF so many times with no success via web chat. I eventually opened up a resolver case where HOF should reply to you within 2-3 days, that was 3 weeks ago! Today I eventually got through to web chat, I asked the assistant (Monika), she could see their error and issued vouchers for correct amount. I asked her to send me a copy of the chat as voucher codes were on it, she said she would but didn't. Back to square one trying to contact web chat again, took me an hour, got Monika again who promised to send vouchers to my email, again she hasn't. I have emailed them now! I didn't want to shop online again due to delivery charges and if you have to return anything they issue vouchers instead of debiting your payment card. The store isn't much better though, I see a big change in it lately, I have encountered rude staff who don't want to help you. There is also a shortage of staff.

Why would I purchase items online and pay £4.99 for the privilege of click and collect. I expect to do so st Sport Direct for cheap and cheerful bargains, but not for premium brands. No free returns? Really it’s 2019. John Lewis is free plus a much more reassuring customer experience and convenient collect from their Waitrose stores so no parking charges. Your strategy is way off the mark in a digital age, it’s almost comical. You are treating customers with contempt and arrogance. I will never shop with HOF again.

AVOID THIS STORE!!! I would have given 0 stars if I could. Charged postage, when it should be free. Charged £14 return postage, when it should be free- and cannot return to store as issuing vouchers, not refunds. Paid via PayPal, £349, and have been issued an e-voucher not a refund. You CANNOT contact HOF via any means. I have escalated claim via PayPal and will be reporting to ombudsman. AVOID THIS STORE!!!

I ordered 19th of Dec. Items came and there was no paper work. I have tried to return this items but no success as I could find my receipt. Sent several emails and even checked social media. It is frustrating. My concern now is this has taken over a month and the amount in question is over £300 Help!!!!

I ordered a coat, but they sent the wrong size. HoF haven't offered to refund delivery or compensate me for postage and packaging to return. Shocking treatment in store - pretty much accused of stealing the coat by a stuck-up awful untrained individual. (Not all the staff were like this I have to say). Have finally received an email today agreeing to refund the coat - nothing received yet though. One thought - never again - simples!

Purchased a Tommy coat for our daughters birthday in a size 16, they sent a size 12, spoke to Sussan on the chat site after waiting for 90 minutes, she advised me to send it back take a photo of the 15.20 euros it cost to send it and purchase another coat and it would no happen again a size 16 would be sent. l purchase another coat by now lm down around 300 pounds, l order a size 16 and another size 12 arrives. Talk to Moinka on the chat site, really unhelpful couldn't careless, send it back at your own cost and we will give you a refund, but take a photo of the postage and send it to us, does that make sense to anyone, why cant the HOF see how much it was to post the item and add it to the refund of the item. So still no birthday present, people complain about losing there jobs due to poor sales, the house of Fraser need to do some serious internal shuffling as the business is only as good as there staff..
