“After providing Pets best some recent feedback, I feel there has been improvement in the evaluation of my claims. Every month my dog needs a renewal of Apoquel, sometimes he has to be seen by the vet before the prescription is renewed and sometimes he does not. After my feedback I no longer have to resubmit each claim twice with the same explanation,”

“Veterinary care is expensive and pet insurance is too. Pets Best insurance offers all the options of coverage for your pet. The phone associates are polite and very helpful. They are prompt in reviewing the claims and making reimbursement payments.”

“Over all, I have had a good experience with this insurance. I have a 10 year old and a puppy. I have been using the illness plan on my 10 year old and have been pleasantly surprised at the reimbursement I get from it. The reason for 4 stars comes from having a new puppy. I do wish that the insurance covered more for younger dogs. I was not able to be reimbursed for the total of the puppy shot series because I reached my max for vaccines. I don’t think that it was considered that puppies get 4 series of shots. The other is the flea and tick medication. I don’t get back my full reimbursement for that and I don’t think they have considered that most flea and tick prevention costs double what the insurance will cover. I think this insurance is great for older dogs for the coverage of any illness, but for new dogs I find that I am paying more per month for something I’m not utilizing.”

“I wish submitting claims that arent computer generated, was way easier. My vet is old, still hand writes, and I pay in cash. I still am waiting for 2 claims to be processed. One over a year ago. Customer service otherwise is good.”

“Affordable and dependable health insurance plan for my pup. The app makes it very easy to submit claims. I'd I had one complaint it is that some claims take a little long to process, but not a deal breakee. I recommend Pets Best to every pet parent I know !”

“Pets Best has been such a great insurance for my 60 pound dog. They cover what they say and everything is clearly listed out for coverage/deductible. It's nice to be able to select deductible amount and reimbursement up to 90%. Getting a hold of customer service is very easy and they do everything in their power to help you to the best of their ability. The only reason this is not a 5 is because of the long waits for claims (42+ days). My dog had an emergency and it cost about $10,000 up front. Fortunately I was able to spread it around and get it paid but my total payment (before interest started accruing) I did call for updates and was repeatedly told up to 42 days until it was past 42 days and there wasn't a definitive answer. Waiting the time period for claim decisions should be moved up for 42 days - people that pay with credit cards need to get the funds before interest starts accruing.”

“Pets Best has been very good with regards to payments for my two dogs. I've had to submit a couple of appeals in the last year when i was referred to specialists and it was incorrectly coded as a new incident, but both were handled quickly and in my favor. It takes a lot longer for a claim to be processed than it used to, which is my only reason for 4 vs. 5 stars. Overall a great experience.”

“I am a new client. So far my experience with Pets Best has been simple. Simple input claims, Simple follow-up when I have questions, and Simple access online. The wait time for processing is long. So I wouldn't expect reimbursement quickly.”

“The only complaint that I have is that they are very slow to process claims. It has been 3 weeks on average to process our recent claims. The different options for coverage to help make policies affordable is what helped us to decide in this company.”

“The insurance has really helped in offsetting some of the costs, which is needed when you have 3 dogs. My only complaint is the reimbursement time. I’m just wondering how some other pet insurance co.’s are reimbursing from immediately to 7 days and we have to wait weeks. The reimbursements aren’t large so it’s not hurting us, but I’m sure it’s impacting others. I have found the monthly costs to be cheaper for PetsBest and they have more options compared to other companies, so pros outweigh the cons. Overall happy and would recommend, if you can wait for reimbursement up to a month.”

“I’m very pleased with the monthly premium of Pets Best and the coverage, which includes chiropractic services, laser treatments and accupuncture. I wish they covered PEMF, which they regard as experimental, but which has been used successfully in clinical trials. Their reimbursement period is pretty long but has been improving lately.”
