“Have accident and illness coverage only since 2022. My dog tore her ACL, meniscus and needed TPLO surgery, Pets Best covered that hefty cost after the deductible was met and covered 90% of the surgery costs and other fees. These surgeries can run you over $5,000+!! If you have big dogs, it’s worth having a $250 deductible, unlimited annual max, 90% reimbursement”

“I have no complaints and no issues, but I am rating 4/5 stars because it’s too late to add acupuncture and physical therapy to my insurance. It was explained to me that this option must only be decided within the first 30 days of initially purchasing the insurance. That is a shame. When my dog was a puppy his health was excellent but now that he’s getting older some issues are starting to occur with his bones that weren’t discovered when he was a puppy. I would love to be able to take him to physical therapy but I cannot afford it if insurance does not cover it. How can you tell if a healthy puppy will need acupuncture or physical therapy later in life? You cannot. That’s my only issue.”

“They have great customer service, fast response time and fast payment on claims. The only issue I have with them is that they signifacantly raised the price the year following a claim. I have four fur babies, so the increase was significante to me. Despite that, I am staying with them, at least for now.”

“Pets Best has been very quick at paying my claims and has not denied much. My only issue is that the prices keep raising quite a lot. My dog is 7 and I have had the insurance for 6 years. My monthly rate has gone up from around $30 per month to now $70 per month. This year was around a 20% price raise and they had requested NJ allow them to raise prices by 65.1%!!!! I am not pleased by these price raises but cannot go to any other company due to my dog's conditions which would now be co sidereal pre-existing by other insurances. So I will continue on with Pets Best and hope they do not continue to raise prices so drastically.”

“Overall good coverage for a good price. Submitting a claim is easy but it took them over 2 weeks to finalize and send reimbursement. They covered what they said they would with no run around or argument though and I am grateful for that.”

“Getting some money back on unexpected accidents are great but when, some things, like spay and neuter, you don't get much. Some things are best to go to a vet and others may be better to find cheaper alternatives.”

“The app sometimes does not load correctly. Logging in doesn’t show my pet. Need to continue to try to see if finally loads correctly in order to submit claim. Process takes about 30 days to complete claim.”

“I had to recently submit a claim for a medical emergency my puppy had from a vaccine he received, while I am grateful to have the claim processed and a reimbursement being initiated, it did take almost 1 month for the claim to be processed and approved.”

“Competitive rates. Easy to submit claims through the app. I have yet to receive reimbursment from a claim submitted over a month ago. To their credit they've kept me informed of the processing, but I would give a higher rating if the claim was processed more expeditiously.”

“Very professional, knowledgeable associates. Claim processing time is good, and I do appreciate the facts that the very large claims are processed faster. I don't understand why the Sales Tax is not covered though, and I have been told that Trupanion covers Rx food, which PetsBest does not do. Unfortunately, those bills run up very fast, and it is too late for me to switch because of the preexisting condition. Trupanion also locks the premium rate in, but PetsBest does not, and the increases happen often.”
