they have covered 2 of 2 claims I submitted , the price is good and they answer the phone in a short time (which is rare these days)

I bought PetsBest pet insurance for my 12-year-old pitbull, Jenni in 2024. I’ve heard negative things about pet insurance and was skeptical but decided to try it because of Jenni’s age. First issue, Jenni had a lens luxation and insurance wouldn’t cover it because she had previous cataract. I had my vet specialist write a letter, but it was still denied. A few months later, Jenni started breathing heavy, we brought her to the vet hospital and they determined she has congestive heart failure, and a bleeding splenic mass. Believe it or not, they did cover some of the testing for the spleen. They did not, however, cover anything to do with her heart because she had a low-grade heart murmur in the past. Again, another Vet specialist wrote a letter. PetsBest denied it. I was getting frustrated and when the renewal came up for 2025 I had calculated that the money they had reimbursed me for some tests in 2024 would cover my premium for 2025 so I renewed the policy. In April 2025, Jenny had to be seen by the vet specialist because her heavy breathing was back. It was determined that her splenic mass was rupturing. She needed immediate surgery. Even though Jenny is 13, she is healthy. She eats well, she plays, takes walks, she loves people and her baby sister. She’s very involved. When faced with this decision we had no choice but to do it. (Even though it was thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars). Because they had covered the spleen diagnosis last year we were hoping this surgery would be covered this year. I am happy to say that Petsbest processed the claim and per our policy paid their percentage!! We are so happy about that. It eases our mind for future issues that may arise. I have recently told people my story and as far as premiums go, most have said that the price I pay for my 2 dogs is great! I will tell anyone who is thinking about insuring your pets, do it and use Petsbest! Thank you Petsbest for giving us hope to care for our pups when they need it the most. With the rising costs of emergency medicine and pet hospital care, this peace of mind is priceless.

The coverage is good when you need it, but my monthly premium just skyrocketed from $68 to $121 for my 8 year old dog.

Having Pet's Best Insurance has helped us keep our dog healthy. You have enabled us to manage the costs of regular care and also more than one surgery. The only complaint I have is the amount of time it takes to get claims settled.

I was very happy with the outcome of my claims. However it seemed to take a long time to process. I provided all invoices doctors notes test results at the time of submission and they read requested them from the doctor's office. Other than that I was pleased with the outcome

Eventually claims were completed but it took many attempts to get there. claims sent back with instructions to fix things that were not clear what was wrong- until you talked with a tech- like blurry image, image cut off. or wrong format-I had no idea what that meant. Claim numbers seemed to change also if you resubmitted something if it was denied- confusing. In the end- the final explanation of benefits was very clear and concise.

I have had no issues with this insurance pays just like they say. There are rate increase but every insurance I have had has these. Hey are responsive when I have called and took care of my pet when she was diagnosed unexpectedly with mast cell cancer

Our cat had many health issues and Pets Best was with us through all of it. They were fair and reasonable. When our cat died, they showed genuine empathy.

On the positive side, PBI has excellent customer service, and although somewhat slow in paying claims, they are excellent at meeting their obligations. However, unless the policyholder is adept at detail, it is very difficult to track claims and that ability is mandatory to good outcomes. Overall, they are a very good company.

There’s seems to be a bit of a lag when the the claim is approved and reimbursement is direct deposited into bank account. It seems this could be fixed somehow with more immediate transfer of funds.

It is easy to submit a claim with my iPhone. I also have direct deposit without cashing a check. Excellent!

I think our monthly premium is a bit high based on our small dog's young age (5). Our premium has more than doubled since we first got the insurance. I hope the yearly increases do not keep jumping so much each year.

They need to offer more availability to do stuff online, if you want to change your deductible you have to call, but it takes FOREVER to get through. If I want to see how much money you have paid since the inception of your policies, you can't find it online, you have to call. They need to make it way more user friendly online, more items to do online. The app does not let me download a new claim? I have to go through my computer?! Why?

payment processing time needs to be improved. Slow process, it takes about 4 weeks to process.
